Part 1:
1. Do you live in a house or an apartment?
Actually, I live in a medium-sized flat which is located in Thu Duc district with my husband and my son.
We moved here after staying with my parents for 2 years since I got married.
2. Tell me about where you live?
I live in Thu Duc District where It’s where I was born and raised grew up. The city recently has
transformed from a rural place to an urban center with modern infrastructure. Now I live in a medium-
sized flat with my husband and my son. It is a good location for me. It’s convenient and quite near my
office.
3. How long have you lived there?
I have lived in my current flat for the past 2 years, but for the first 30 years of my life, when I was
growing up, I always lived in my hometown – Thu Duc District. I didn’t move until I got married.
4. What kind of accommodation do most people live in in your city?
In recent years, the majority of people choose to live in apartment or flat. Because In my city, there are
good policies for people to buy a flat or an apartment with reasonable price while buying a house is too
much expensive.
5. What is the difference between where you are living now and where you have lived in the
past?
Well, I have always lived in Thu Duc District since I was born until now, so that’s there’s nothing new…I
think that the biggest difference is probably that now I live in a cozy flat with my own family with my
husband and my son, but before I always lived with my parents in a beautiful two-storey house with a
small garden.
6. Which room does your family spend most of the time in?
My family probably spends the most time in the living room because that’s where our TV is. We really
like watching news and movies, especially after the dinner when we can gather together after a busy
day.

Describe a house or an apartment where you are living.
Now I live in a medium-sized flat with my husband and my son. It is located in Thu Duc District where I
was born and have grown up raised for the first 30 years of my life. The city recently has transformed
from a rural place to an urban center with modern infrastructure. It is a good location for me. It’s
convenient because it’s quite near my office, close to the supermarket and the nursery school for my
son.

Besides the convenience of the good location, I love to live in this flat because neighbors around me are
so friendly and kind. We often meet up, share the food and help each other. Most of them have a sense
of community possess public attitude. They are highly considerate consider and protective of the living
space, making it harmonious, clean and polite.
An Additional thing that I love to stay about staying here is the security. There is a guard team taking
care of the whole areas and keeping the peaceful living area peaceful. I am quite satisfied at of this
place.
Part 2:
Describe a house or an apartment you would like to live in. You should say: What kind of
accommodation it would be, where it would be, who would you live there with you
I plan to move to the Netherlands for working and living in the near future. And at that country, I often
imagine an ideal home in that country that I would like to live in. That should be a cozy house with
vintage decoration. It would be a 2-storey house with a small garden behind in the back where I could
plant some kinds of flowers and vegetables. There would be two bedrooms for 3 members of my family
and a small living room combined to with a space for entertaining activities.
My favorite room is the kitchen. Therefore, I am sure that I would decorate this place by myself to make
it convenient and inspiring to cook and freely create more delicious dishes.
Although I prefer to work in the city center, I think I would find a house near the countryside. It might
take longer time to commute from my house to my office, but it would not a big problem big. Living far
from the city has more advantages such as lower accommodation cost and peaceful atmosphere.
Part 3:
1. Is it better to own your own home or to rent?
I absolutely want to own a house to stay longer, not to rent a temporary house. Nowadays, we can
easily easier buy a house while because we just need to pay first about 30% of the whole value of that
property in advance. The rest can be supported by financial programs from banks. Unlike renting, if I buy
a house, although I have to pay the interest monthly, I will own my own house at the end of the
payment progress.
2. What options are available to young couples looking for accommodation in your country.
I am quite sure that flat and apartment are the good options for young couples to live in my country.
With the escalating price of property and land, it is hard to buy a house or a big apartment, especially to
for people who are still young like me. Buying or renting a flat or an apartment is an affordable option
with many supporting policies from the investors.
3. What are some of the pleasures involved in making a home for ourselves?
I think making a home by ourselves is a an interesting process hobby. It must be is such a great
experience when you can think about what is your ideal home? What is your preferable style? You can
save the cost of hiring the an agency. You can spend your own time to search and but each items and
make them harmonious and connected by your own taste.
