Career Goals

My career goals stem from goals that I have set from when I was younger. I always loved

helping people and wanted to work in health care like my family. I am currently majoring in

respiratory care therapy. My younger brother had many respiratory issues growing up and was

surrounded by respiratory therapists that helped him breathe. This made me want to become a

respiratory therapist. I plan on applying to the respiratory care program at CCBC and start the

fall of 2023. After I graduate the program, I plan on getting registered as a respiratory therapist.

This is more advanced than being just being certified. After about one to two years working at a

hospital, I would want to become a travel respiratory therapist. I think I would learn a lot by

working at different hospitals and visiting different places. I will probably go back to school to

also study ultrasound. It never hurts to have multiple certifications. For an ultrasound

certification I looked into going to UBMC for general ultrasound. When I get the certification, I

can switch between sonography and respiratory jobs.
