Project Information
Given the necessary tools, equipment and information, you are expected to
perform the following Three practical projects.
The assessor should ask oral questions on which s/he is not satisfied by
yours performance
Assessment Venue: Well Equipped Assessment Centre or real work place
Total Time Allotted for all Projects: 6:00hrs
Project I: Build Internet Infrastructure and Migrate to new Technology.
Total time for the project: 3:40hrs

Instruction: - Under this project you are expected to perform the following
three tasks based on the information provided:-
Task 1: Set up Client-Server network and configure internet
Time Allotted: - 1:30hrs
Instruction: - Under this task you are to have three computers and the
necessary software so expected perform the following
activities based on the information provided:-
Set up Client-Server network (Hint: Start from clear installation of
each PC, Use domain name ict.gov and configure internet
connection to all Pcs).
Task 2: Manage Users and Group
Time Allotted: - 0:50 hrs

Instruction: - Under this task you are expected to perform the following
activities tasks based on the information provided:-
Create three organizational units(OU) named by Developer ,
Support and Analyst
Create three groups named by Principal, Senior and Junior.
Create four users named Seifu, Tina, Ahmed and Feven.
Add Seifu and Tina to the group Principal.
Add Ahmed and Seifu to the group Senior.
Add Feven to the group Junior.
Add the group Principal to Developer OU.
Add the group Junior to Support OU.
Add the group Senior to Analyst OU.
Task 3: Install and Upgrade Software
Time Allotted: - 1:20 hrs
Instruction: - Under this task you are expected to perform the following
activities tasks based on the information provided:-
Install Microsoft office word 2007 and Microsoft office Visio 2007 on
client 1 pc
Upgrade Client 2 to windows 8.1.
Write the new features you analyse in windows 8.1 comparing with
windows 7 and save using notepad on Client 2.
Project II: Design company network and Internet Infrastructure
Total time for this project: 1:20hrs

In this project you are required to design Company Network and Internet
Infrastructure for PARROT Plc.
The company is expandable and dedicated for Importing and Distribution of
drugs and medical equipments for resellers using Company’s Application
Software, it has 5 departments: Sales, Maintenance, HRM, Public Relation
and Marketing.
The Company has two buildings, G+2 and G+3 in a compound with a distance
of 30m between them. Each building has 25 users in each floor including the
ground.
The Company wants to implement centralized network infrastructure that
include:
1. Resource Sharing between different departments
2. 10 MB internet connection for the whole employees
3. Company Mailing System
4. System Security

Task2. Design the infrastructure of network using Microsoft office Visio
2007
Time allotted: 0:55 min
Instruction: -Under this task, you should prepare logical design for the
infrastructure using Microsoft Visio 2007 that considers:
Appropriate network devices
Suitable type of cable to be used.
Internet connectivity
Project III. Prepare Service Level Agreement
Total time for this project: 1:00hrs

XY Company needs annual maintenance service for all PCs. The company
posts the announcement for interested bidders.
Instruction: - Under this project you are expected to perform the following
two tasks based on the information provided:-
Task1. Prepare SLA of XY Company using Microsoft Word.
Time Allotted: - 0:35 hrs
Instruction: - Under this task you assume as an ICT Solution provider PLC
who wins the bid and expected to prepare SLA of XY Company using
Microsoft Word. (Hint: - Use the following points to prepare the SLA)
