I’m writing in regards to the Assistant Principal position that is available at your school.
With over 9 years of teaching experience and 2 years as an intervention teacher in urban
classrooms, I believe that I have become an expert at both large and small classroom and group
settings, analyzing data to inform instruction, and collaborating with peers to ensure the growth
and success for all students. I believe that these skills combined with my professional expertise
align closely with the responsivities of an Assistant Principal and make me an ideal candidate for
the role.

In my current role, I used assessments to help group students based on their foundational
math skills and then used progress monitoring and tier 2 intervention support to track student
growth over time. I have collaborated and participated with administration meetings and was part
of the instructional leadership team for 4 years. I led professional developments that aligned to
current learning trends in both math and ELA to help guide new and veteran teachers in their
practices while also becoming certified in US Math Recovery intervention courses. I also
participated and trained teachers in Academic Parent Teacher Team Meetings that helped
develop relationships between parents in the classroom and the teachers to bridge the gap
between school and home so learning continues.

Social Emotional wellness has always been a large part of my classroom and continues to
be a priority in my practices. In my previous positions I have developed Love Languages tests
and materials for students and families to help students connect with their parents. I have also
brought How to Fill Your Bucket into the classroom and to the rest of the school as a way of
using positive language and interactions and the power they can have on everyone around us.

I believe that I bring positivity and creativity to all working environment and
communities that I have the ability to work in. I look forward to continue to grow as an educator
and as an Assistant Principal in the future as well. Attached is my resume and letters of reference
