                       The Problem and Its Background
Introduction
In an era characterized by growing environmental awareness
and the urgent need for responsible, sustainable living, the
hospitality industry has undergone a remarkable transformation.
With travelers increasingly seeking eco-friendly and sustainable
accommodation options, hotels around the world are recognizing
the importance of adopting sustainable practices to reduce their
environmental footprint and contribute to the well-being of local
communities. Tagaytay City, nestled in the picturesque Philippine
province of Cavite, has emerged as a destination where natural
beauty and sustainable tourism converge. This research endeavors
to shed light on the sustainability practices of a select group
of eco-friendly hotels in Tagaytay City, exploring their
commitment to environmental responsibility and their role in
promoting green tourism.
The environmental challenges facing Tagaytay City are
intertwined with its appeal to tourists. While the city offers a
respite from the hustle and bustle of urban life, the influx of
visitors brings with it the potential for increased pollution,
overconsumption of resources, and disruption to the local
ecosystem. In response to these challenges, eco-friendly hotels
have emerged as pioneers of responsible tourism in Tagaytay City.
These establishments aim to maintain a delicate equilibrium
between providing a memorable guest experience and actively
participating in the conservation of the city's natural
resources.
As the hospitality sector expands in response to rising
tourist arrivals, it simultaneously grapples with the
environmental consequences of its operations. This has prompted
the rise of a new breed of hotels, often referred to as "eco-
friendly" or "green" hotels. These establishments have made it
their mission to balance the allure of luxury and comfort with
ecological responsibility. They take a proactive stance toward
minimizing their environmental impact through energy efficiency,
waste reduction, water conservation, and a myriad of other
sustainable practices. Tagaytay City, renowned for its
breathtaking views, mild climate, and proximity to Metro Manila,
stands as an ideal setting for exploring how eco-friendly hotels
have embraced sustainable practices to preserve the natural
beauty that attracts visitors from far and wide.
This research project seeks to provide an in-depth
exploration of the sustainability practices adopted by selected
eco-friendly hotels in Tagaytay City. By examining their
commitment to eco-conscious measures, resource management, and
community engagement, we aim to uncover the strategies and
innovations that drive sustainability within the hospitality
sector.
Furthermore, this study will assess the impact of these
practices on the environment, local communities, and the overall
tourism experience in Tagaytay City. In a world increasingly
attuned to environmental concerns, this research contributes to
the discourse on the role of eco-friendly hotels in sustainable
tourism. By shining a light on the practices and challenges faced
by these establishments, it is our hope to encourage broader
awareness of the importance of eco-friendly accommodation and
inspire further efforts to protect and preserve the natural
beauty of Tagaytay.

Input-Process-Output (IPO) mode which guided the researchers in
the course of the investigation as shown in Figure 1 on the next
page.

and the analysis and interpretation of data.

Statement of the problem:
This study aims to determine the Sustainability Practices of
Eco-friendly Hotels in Tagaytay City.
Specifically, the study shall seek answers to the following:
1. What is the demographic profile of eco-friendly hotels in
terms of:
     1.1 Name of the hotel
2. What are the Sustainability Practices of Eco-friendly hotels
     in Tagaytay City.
Hypothesis
This study tested that there a no significance in three eco-
friendly hotel respondents in Tagaytay City in their
sustainability practices.
Scope and Limitation of the Study
The study covers in sustainability practices in eco-friendly
hotels in Tagaytay city. There are 3 representative respondents
in each selected hotel. The research will be conducted in
Tagaytay around November 2023.
We want to know specific practices in certain locations,
like Tagaytay, so we omitted other hotels from our research
because they did not have eco-friendly practices. The study's
weaknesses include the possibility that respondents won't provide
accurate answers, that they won't be eligible because they don't
understand what sustainability practices are, that the
questionnaire leaves out certain practices that hotels may have,
and that the questionnaire contains ambiguous questions that
could lead to respondent confusion.
Significance of The Study
This study is beneficial and significant to the following:
Customers can enhance their hotel perception and purchase
intentions. They will know the eco-friendly hotels in which they
will engage.
Hotels and Hoteliers can practice sustainability to attract
guest who are eco-conscious. Implementing green practices in
hotels can offers a lot of benefits in the hotel like including
cost savings and reduced consumption.
Future Researchers can use this to serve as a related
literature when they conduct their own studies related to the
topic of the present study. They can improve or extend of this
study for them to know more about the hotels who practice
sustainability.
