European Union (EU) Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive
The European Union’s WEEE directive requires that products sold into EU countries must have the crossed out trashbin label on the product (or the package
in some cases).
As defined by the WEEE directive, this cross-out trashbin label means that customers and end-users in EU countries should not dispose of electronic and
electrical equipment or accessories in household waste.
Customers or end-users in EU countries should contact their local equipment supplier representative or service centre for information about the waste collection
system in their country.
CMM labeling and disclosure table
The People’s Republic of China requires that Motorola’s products comply with
China Management Methods (CMM) environmental regulations. (China
Management Methods refers to the regulation Management Methods for
Controlling Pollution by Electronic Information Products.) Two items are used to
demonstrate compliance; the label and the disclosure table.
The label is placed in a customer visible position on the product.
                       • Logo 1 means that the product contains no substances in excess of the
maximum concentration value for materials identified in the China
                            Management Methods regulation.
                       • Logo 2 means that the product may contain substances in excess of the
maximum concentration value for materials identified in the China
Management Methods regulation, and has an Environmental Friendly
Use Period (EFUP) in years, fifty years in the example shown.
Logo 1 Logo 2
The Environmental Friendly Use Period (EFUP) is the period (in years) during
which the Toxic and Hazardous Substances (T&HS) contained in the Electronic
Information Product (EIP) will not leak or mutate causing environmental pollution
or bodily injury from the use of the EIP. The EFUP indicated by the Logo 2 label
applies to a product and all its parts. Certain field-replaceable parts, such as
battery modules, can have a different EFUP and are marked separately.
The Disclosure Table is intended only to communicate compliance with China
requirements; it is not intended to communicate compliance with EU RoHS or any
              other environmental requirements.

Icon Conventions
The documentation set is designed to give the reader more visual clues. The following graphic icons are used
throughout the documentation set. These icons and their associated meanings are described below.
The signal word DANGER with the associated safety icon implies information that, if disregarded,
will result in death or serious injury.
The signal word WARNING with the associated safety icon implies information that, if disregarded,
could result in death or serious injury, or serious product damage.
The signal word CAUTION with the associated safety icon implies information that, if disregarded,
may result in minor or moderate injury, or serious product damage.
The signal word CAUTION may be used without the safety icon to state potential damage or injury
that is not related to the product.
IMPORTANT statements contain information that is crucial to the discussion at hand, but is not CAUTION
or WARNING. There is no warning level associated with the IMPORTANT statement.
NOTE contains information more important than the surrounding text, such as exceptions or preconditions.
They also refer the reader elsewhere for additional information, remind the reader how to complete an
action (when it is not part of the current procedure, for instance), or tell the reader where something is
located on the screen. There is no warning level associated with a note.
SUGGESTION
SUGGESTION implies a recommendation or tip from Motorola that does not require to be followed, but
might be helpful. There is no warning level associated with SUGGESTION.
                                                                                                                    xiii
Style Conventions
The following style conventions are used:
    Convention Description
Bold This typeface is used for names of, for instance, windows, buttons, and labels
when these names appear on the screen (example: the Alarms Browser window).
When it is clear that we are referring to, for instance, a button, the name is used
                                   alone (example: Click OK).
Monospacing font in This typeface is used for words to be typed in exactly as they are shown in the
bold text (example: In the Address field, type http://ucs01.ucs:9080/)
Monospacing font This typeface is used for messages, prompts, and other text displayed on the
computer screen (example: A new trap destination has been
                                   added).
Monospacing font in This typeface is used with angle brackets for words to be substituted by a specific
bold Italic member of the group that the words represent (example: <router number>).
                                                                                                                     xv
1 Description
          Topics Covered in this Chapter
               • ATIA Log Viewer Overview
               • ATIA Log Viewer Window
The Air Traffic Information Access (ATIA) Log Viewer is a Private Radio Network Management (PRNM) Suite
application that displays log files generated by the Air Traffic Router (ATR). These log files contain records of all
recent zone activity, such as site registrations and processed calls.
ATIA data logging must be enabled through the Air Traffic Router (ATR) server Administration Menu.
Otherwise, no ATIA log data is collected for viewing.
              • Radio events that have occurred within a zone, active sites, channel numbers, and radio affiliations
              • Events occurring at specified intervals in the zone.
This feature is normally used to examine data logs when debugging the system. The ATIA Log Viewer records the
last 24 hours of ATIA data packets on the ATR server. You can select which interval packets you want to view.
There is a possibility to watch archived logs stored on a local drive. They are displayed in a separate tab. For more
information on how to access them go to 2.3 Accessing Archived ATIA Logs, page 2-6section.
The data is displayed in an easy-to-read, text-based format which can be printed, saved, or copied into a third-party
         application for future evaluation.
ATIA messages include the date, time, and description of the event that occurred (such as a radio registration,
         call request, or site handover).
Log files are generated by the ATR, transferred to the ATIA Log Viewer using the File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and
decoded into a text format. The maximum size of a log file generated within an hour cannot exceed a specified value
(20 MB). When the limit is reached, a new log file is generated. If the size of a log file does not exceed the limit, the
data is displayed on an hourly basis. Otherwise, the data is displayed whenever a new log file is generated.
The ATIA Log Viewer allows to save binary log files and archives from ATR server application with Save as menu
option. For more information see 2.2 Saving binary ATIA Logs, page 2-5 section.
The ATIA Log Viewer application launches a document processor associated with doc files. In this example, the
         document processor is Wordpad.
Prerequisites: ATIA data logging must be enabled through the Air Traffic Router (ATR) Administration Menu.
Otherwise, no ATIA log data is collected for viewing. Historical reports data is collected regardless of the ATIA
          log setting.
Procedure Steps
Step result: All available applications for the zone appear in the content pane, as shown in Figure 2-1
Example of the Application Launcher for a Zone Level).
Step result: The ATIA Log Viewer Window appears with the list of stored logs, as shown in Figure 2-2 ATIA
               Log Viewer Window.
ATIA log files which are present on the local hard drive can be opened using a pop-up Windows
context menu option Send To (Figure 2-3 Example of the Send To Menu Option ). To view the ATIA
logs, select the desired log file from the local hard drive and right-click the mouse button. They also
can be opened via File->Open Local menu option.
3 Select the desired log file from the list (you may select multiple intervals using standard Windows selection
techniques), and then click the View button.
Step result: The log is displayed in the default document processor window, as shown in Figure 2-4 Example
of the ATIA Log Viewer Report .
On your workstation, the ATIA Log Viewer application launches the document processor that is
associated with doc files. In this example, the document processor is Wordpad.
4 You may perform any operation on the log your document processor allows, including printing the log, saving
it to another file, or editing it.
Procedure Steps
1 Open ATIA Log Viewer and access list of current logs or archived logs or upacked logs as described in 2.1
               Viewing ATIA Logs, page 2-1
5 To save logs archive, navigate to Archived logs, select desired archive and tab and repeat steps 3 and 4.
6 To save unpacked log, navigate to fourth tab, select desired log and repeat steps 3 and 4.
Procedure Steps
Step result: The log is displayed in the default document processor window.
If changes have been made to the file, you can choose to save it to disk.
