Bullying

What is bullying
• Bullying is repeatedly trying to hurt
someone through either physical means or
psychological means
• There are 3 types of bullying
1. Physical bullying
2. Verbal bullying
3. Cyber bullying
• Bullying is often done by a group of people
against one individual they think might be
weak or vulnerable
• Bullying is ALWAYS repaeated
Where can it
happen?
• Bullying can occur in school,
work, online, social media
basically anywhere
• Depending on where it happens
depends on who you should tell
a figure of authority
Physical bullying

• Physical bullying is where a bully uses their


body or an object to repeatedly hurt
another person
• This usually includes
1. Kicking
2. Punching
3. Shoving
4. Throwing objects towards the other
person
• This type of bullying can bruise and hurt the
other person physically and mentally
Verbal bullying
• Verbal bullying is when someone repeatedly uses
words to hurt or scare another person
• This might include
1. Teasing
2. Name calling
3. Threatening
4. Insults and discriminatory words
• Targets of this kind of bullying are very open to the
risks of depression, anxiety or self harm
• Meanwhile those who do this type of bullying are
more prone to the mis-use of drugs and
experiencing mental problems
Cyber bullying

• Cyber bullying is using technology or


electronic devices to inflict harm on other
people
• This may include
1. Trolling
2. Photos shared without permission
3. Abusive messages
4. Stalking and harassing/spamming
• Victims of this kind of bullying a prone to
anxiety and depression and might find it
hard interacting with other people
Effects of bullying

• Bullying can only lead to bad things such


as
1. Mental problems (eg depression or
anxiety)
2. Loneliness
3. Self harm
4. Insecurities
5. Decreased chances of having good
grades/test scores
• A study showed that in 1990 out of 15
school shootings in America, 12 of the
shooters experienced bullying as a child
How to stop
bullying
• The first step to stopping a bullying is to ignore
the person bullying you. They will not see a
reaction from you therefore will not find it
funny anymore which can make it stop
• If that doesn’t work ask the bully to stop.
Stand up for yourself and try learn how to
defend against the things they do/say to you
• You can ask your friends to help stop the
bullying by telling the bully to stop, or telling
an adult
• You can tell a trusted adult who can help with
you coping or bring it up to a higher power
(school principal or gardi)
Why we picked bullying

• We picked bullying because we do not know


much about it and we wanted to learn more
• We know that bullying is a big problem all
around the world and it is affecting many
lives
• Many bad things have happened because of
bullying and we want to stop it
• we want to educate the youth about bullying
