Instructions:
Using MC and smaller needles CO 69 (78, 90, 99)sts and join to work in the rnd being careful not to
twist.
Ribbing rnd: *K2, P1; rep from * to end,
Rep ribbing rnd until work measures 1” / 2.5cm.
Change to larger needles.
Knit 1 rnd increasing 1 (2, 0, 1)sts. 70 (80, 90, 100)sts.
Knit 0 (0, 1, 1) more rnd.
Join CC and work rnds 1 - 8 of Heart Chart. You will repeat the chart 7 (8, 9, 10) times each rnd.
Break MC and work straight (knit every rnd) until hat measures 4.5 (5, 5.5, 6)” / 11.5 (13, 14, 15)cm.
Crown Decreases:
Rnd 1: *K8, K2tog; rep from * to end.
Rnd 2: K.
Rnd 3: *K7, K2tog; rep from * to end.
Rnd 4: K.
Rnd 5: *K6, K2tog; rep from * to end.
Rnd 6: K.
Rnd 7: *K5, K2tog; rep from * to end.
Rnd 8: K.
Rnd 9: *K4, K2tog; rep from * to end.

Finishing:
Weave in all ends and wet block lightly, do not overstretch as this will distort the stranded colourwork
motifs. A balloon makes a great blocking form for this shape of hat.
