TEST N° 2

Sports play a vital role in our lives. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), regular physical activity
reduces the risk of heart disease by 30% and depression by 25%. From football to athletics, millions of people participate in
sports, either as players or fans. For instance, the FIFA World Cup 2022 attracted over 5 billion viewers worldwide,
showcasing the global passion for sports. However, sports can also have negative effects. Injuries, pressure to win, and
financial corruption in professional sports are some concerns. In recent years, debates about fairness in sports have also
emerged, particularly regarding technology use and doping scandals.
Playing sports has many benefits. It improves physical fitness, teaches discipline, and boosts mental health. For young
people, sports can provide valuable lessons in cooperation and leadership. For example, a survey of high school students in
Morocco revealed that 70% felt more confident after participating in team sports. On the other hand, focusing too much on
winning can lead to stress and unhealthy competition. Some athletes use performance-enhancing drugs, which harm both their
health and the integrity of the sport. Additionally, the commercialization of sports has raised concerns about prioritizing profits
over players’ well-being.
To ensure that sports remain positive, coaches, parents, and organizations must promote fair play and focus on personal
growth rather than just results. Communities should also support young athletes by providing proper facilities and
opportunities. Finally, addressing corruption and ensuring transparency in sports organizations can help restore public trust and
maintain the true spirit of competition.
