Size:
7 inches from front of head to back with weight 4 yarn and a 3.25 mm hook
Skill Level Needed:
Intermediate- suitable for novice crocheters, requires patience and precision when assembling
the dragon and basic crochet skills.

Materials Needed:
Yarn: Worsted Weight #4, approximately 75g of main color and 25g of accent colors
Color A: Green Color B: Yellow, Color C: Orange, Color D: Red, Color E: Brown
Hook Size: D hook or 3.25 mm
12 mm safety eyes
Scissors, sewing needle, stitch marker, fiberfill stuffing
Abbreviations:
mr= magic ring- crochet single crochet stitches in to the
adjustable loop BLO= back loops only
ch= chain stitch F/O= Fasten off
sc= single crochet stitch hdc= half double crochet
sl= slip stitch FLO= front loops only
dc= double crochet stitch inc3= 3 sc in the same stitch bob= bobble stitch
inc= increase- make two single crochet stitches in the same stitch
dec=decrease- crochet two stitches together using the decrease method
(4 sc, inc) x 6= repeat the pattern between parentheses 6 times
Notes:
• Do not join rounds unless stated, work in a continuous spiral
• Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round
• All stitches are worked in both loops unless stated otherwise in the pattern

Ch 4
1. inc in 2nd ch from hook, sc, 4 sc in the last ch, working on the opposite side of the chain: sc,
inc= 10
2. sc in each st around
3. sc, bob, 2 sc, bob, 5 sc
4. (3 sc, dec) x 2= 8
5. sc, Color B: Ch 11, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and across, sl st in same st, Color A: 5 sc, Color B:
Ch 11, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and across, sl st in same st, Color A: 2 sc
6. 2 sc, inc, sc, inc, 3 sc= 10
7. 3 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 3 sc= 12
8. 4 sc, inc, 3 sc, inc, 3 sc= 14
9-10. sc in each st around
*Ear: Ch 7, sc in 2nd chain from hook, 2 hdc, 2 sc, sl*
*Horn: Ch 9, sl in 2nd ch from hook, sl, 6 sc*
11. 5 sc, ear, sc, Color D: horn, sl st in same st, Color A: 4 sc, Color D: horn, sl st in same st, Color

Place the eyes between rounds 7 and 8, the eyes will be 4 holes apart. The eyes will line up over
the bobble stitches in round 3
13. (dec, 2 sc) x 3, dec= 10
Stuff the dragon as you work
14-64. sc in each st around
Now to get the twisty look, you will take some jewelry wire. Cut a piece approximately 24
inches in length. Fold it in half and twist it. Insert it into the dragon. You will want to work
around it as you continue. Here is a general video on how to insert wire:

2. BLO: (sc, ch 4, hdc in 2nd ch from hook and across) x 4
*Mark all your sc you worked for help in round 3*

2. Sew the belly onto the body.

1. Pin the spikes onto the top of the body.
2. Sew the spikes onto the body.

2. Sew the legs onto the body.

Helpful Tips:
Exact Colors Used:
1. Green: I love this yarn jelly bean
2. Yellow: I love this yarn Buttercup
3. Orange: I love this yarn Orange
4. Red: I love this yarn Fire red
5. Brown: I love this yarn latte
You can use different eye sizes. You might have to adjust the placements if you change the
sizes.
You can use different hook sizes and weights of yarn. It will just change the size of your dragon
and you might need to adjust eye and nose placement.
How you stuff matters! The type of stuffing you use, how you stuff, all this matters on how your
dragon turns out. I prefer Polyfil stuffing but you can use other types.
