This pattern is made with 100% Merino wool yarn and the hat will fit a 55 cm Goose toy

from the EFI

Friends collection.
To make the hat you will need:
- approximately 30 gr of 100% Merino wool (123 yards/112 m per 50 gr).
If you make a striped hat, take approximately 15 gr of wool for each colour).
- 2.5 mm straight knitting needles.
- knitter’s needle.
In the video you can see how to stitch the main stitches and finish the hat.

Starting at the bottom edge and finishing at the top of the head, use 2.5mm needles to cable cast on
70 stitches.
Knit the brim firstly with 1x1 rib stitches:
Row 1: (right side) knit 1 purl 1. Repeat the stitches across the row. Remember to knit the knits and
purl the purls.
Repeat Row 1 for 13 rows.
The brim is ready. Now we need to knit the border between the brim and the top of the hat. This will
help to fold the brim up neatly:

work. Purl 1. Repeat these stitches across the row.
Row 15: knit 1. Slip the purl to the right needle, without knitting. The working yarn is at the front of
work. Repeat these stitches across the row.
Row 16: Repeat as the Row 14.
Now we continue to knit the top part of the hat:
Row 17 : knit the 1x1 rib stitches again: knit 1, purl 1. Repeat across the row.
Repeat Row 17 for 14 Rows.
Now we need to start decreasing the hat to shape the crown:
Row 32: knit in pattern for 18 stitches, place a stitch marker, knit in pattern for 17 stitches, place a
