CONSTITUTION OF [NAME OF WELFARE
ASSOCIATION]
1. Name
The name of the association shall be: [Full Name of the Welfare Association], hereinafter
referred to as “the Association”.
2. Objectives
The objectives of the Association shall be:
   To promote the welfare and unity of its members.
   To provide financial and moral support to members during bereavement, sickness,
    weddings, and other agreed-upon occasions.
   To promote a culture of savings and financial responsibility.
   To engage in income-generating activities to benefit members.
   To support community development initiatives.
3. Membership
   Membership shall be open to individuals who share the goals and values of the
    Association.
   A person shall become a member upon paying the registration fee and being approved
    by the committee.
   Members shall pay a monthly contribution of KES [amount].
   A member may withdraw voluntarily with written notice or may be expelled for
    misconduct, subject to fair hearing.
4. Office Bearers
The Association shall have the following officials:
   Chairperson
   Vice-Chairperson
   Secretary
   Treasurer
   Assistant Secretary (optional)
   Any other deemed necessary
Duties of Office Bearers:
Chairperson:
- Presides over meetings.
- Provides overall leadership.
- Represents the Association.
Secretary:
- Keeps records and minutes.
- Issues meeting notices.
- Handles correspondence.
Treasurer:
- Manages finances.
- Keeps financial records.
- Prepares reports.
5. Meetings
   The Association shall hold regular meetings once a month.
   Special meetings may be called by the Chairperson or upon request by at least 1/3 of
    members.
   The quorum shall be at least half of registered members.
6. Finance
   The Association shall maintain a bank account in its name.
   The signatories to the account shall be the Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary (any
    two to sign).
   A financial report shall be presented during meetings.
   Funds shall only be used for activities aligned with the objectives.
7. Amendments
This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of members at a general
meeting. Notice of the intended amendment shall be given at least 14 days prior.
8. Dissolution
The Association may be dissolved by a vote of not less than two-thirds (2/3) of members.
Upon dissolution, all debts shall be paid, and remaining assets shared equitably among
members or donated to a charitable cause agreed upon by members.
9. Dispute Resolution
Internal disputes shall first be resolved through dialogue and mediation among members. If
unresolved, the matter may be referred to the Sub-County Social Development Office or a
court of law.
