Position Summary
Functions include:
Assists in the development of segment specific annual operating plans (AOPs) by conducting retail link analysis for a specific program; reviewing secondary research (for example, ACNielsen panel data); working with Consumer Insights to gather customer data; and ensuring that key projects within the AOP are executed. Assists in the management of Marketing and Cooperative Advertising budgets by tracking spending to budget; managing purchase orders and invoices; reconciling irregularities within the budget; monitoring budgets; helping Finance to manage reporting of income as earned and expenses when incurred; serving as a liaison with the Finance group; and ensuring spending is within the approved budget. Executes marketing projects by leveraging internal and external resources; developing and following project timelines and processes; reviewing and ensuring final project plan is aligned with program and initiative strategy and objectives; and working with internal and external creative teams to develop concise, relevant, and on-brand marketing program elements. Monitors project performance within area of responsibility by analyzing retail link information, panel data, trend data, and primary and secondary data sources; and comparing project performance to plan and other similar projects. Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external resources by collaborating with key suppliers and agencies; and motivating and influencing cross-functional teams to achieve segment objectives. Ensures projects are executed according to plans by developing communication materials; following appropriate communication channels and vehicles; and ensuring that information is delivered to key cross-functional departments (for example, Operations, Merchandising, In-Store Experience). Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Marketing and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field (e.g. Business, Accounting) OR 2 years experience in marketing or related field (e.g., brand, customer, retail), including developing consumer-centric marketing plans, analyzing market research, and managing marketing teams
