Use this procedure to do a general visual inspection of these braided conduit end-fittings,
from the rib 6 to the fuselage:

A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-801) .

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the
maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-804) .
(2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the
maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-804) .
(3) On the FLAPS control panel 114VU:
· put the LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT.
POSITION (98D27803000000) on the slat/flap control lever,
· put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the slat/flap control lever to tell
persons not to operate the slats/flaps.
(4) On the FLT CTL control panel 241VU:
· make sure that the PRIM 1 and SEC 1 pushbutton switches are released (the
OFF/R legend of these pushbutton switches is on),
· put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to use these
pushbutton switches.
(5) On the FLT CTL section of the panel 212VU:
· make sure that the PRIM 2, PRIM 3 and SEC 2 pushbutton switches are
released (the OFF/R legend of these pushbutton switches is on),
· put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to use these
pushbutton switches.

C. Get Access
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's
instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below the applicable fuel-
pump fairing.
(3) Remove the applicable fuel-pump fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-49-000-801) .

(1) Do a general visual inspection of the components that follow:
· The bonding leads
· The braided conduits

· The clamps that attach the braided conduits
· The electrical connectors at the end fittings of the braided conduits
· The shield of the electrical connectors.
(2) Make sure that there are no signs of contamination Ref. ESPM 20-55-30.
(3) Make sure that there are no signs of corrosion Ref. ESPM 20-53-32.
(4) For corrosion protection, do the steps that follow:
WARNING:BE CAREFUL NOT TO CUT YOUR FINGERS. FLAKES OF NICKEL
ARE SHARP.
CAUTION:MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT APPLY CLEANING AGENTS TO
ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVE PARTS (PINS, ETC.). IF YOU DO, YOU
CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(a) On the electrical connectors, at the end fittings of the braided conduits:
· Use Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No. 08BAA9) and a lint-
free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No. 14SBA1) to remove
contamination from the fitting.
· Remove flakes or blisters. Make sure that you do not cause damage to the
base metal while you do this task.
NOTE: A sharp tool is necessary for the removal of the flakes and blisters.
(5) Use a BRUSH - BRISTLED or an airless spray to apply a continuous layer of
Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No. 12ACB1)
with a thickness of 0.03 mm (0.0012 in.). Apply the material on all the fittings,
couplings, backshells, transitions and the space between the crimping sleeve and
the part (if the ESPM 203330 is applicable).
(6) Make sure that the screws are not loose or missing.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable fuel-pump fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-49-400-801) .
(3) On the FLAPS control panel 114VU:
· remove the LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT.
POSITION (98D27803000000) from the slat/flap control lever.
(4) Remove the warning notice(s).
(5) Remove the safety barriers.
(6) Remove the access platform(s).
