BEGINNING NOTES Thank you so much for purchasing this pattern! I have a
few notes for you before starting this pattern:
This pattern will walk you through the steps to enter
your measurements. Then, in the background, the
pdf will calculate exactly how many stitches you’ll
need to do to fit your body perfectly! These
calculations will show up exactly where you will
need them in the pattern, so you won’t need to
measure your work as you go along like other
                     made-to-measure patterns!
You can make a v-neck or a crew neck style
                     sweater.
If you are using your phone, you’ll need to
download Adobe Reader to be able to input your
measurements. However, if you’re using your
computer, open up the document within Google
                     Chrome to edit.
Once you’ve entered your measurements, you
should no longer need to use Adobe Reader. Be
sure to save the document after you enter
                     everything.
ONE MORE THING! When filling out the form, keep
all measurements in one unit of measurement. Do
not have one measurement in centimeters and
another in inches. Keep all entered in centimeters
or all in inches. This goes for grams/ounces and
                     yards/meters as well.
PATTERN USES Designing your own sweater pattern? Enter in the
desired measurements for your pattern and I will
determine how many stitches/rows each size will
need, doing the math for you!
Have a design in mind but not sure what pattern to
base it off of? This is a great blank slate so you
can think of the design and not the specifics of the
                     sweater!

 STEPS TO FILL OUT FORM:
Which unit of measure are you using?
        Imperial System (ex: inches, yards)
        Metric System (ex: centimeters, meters)
      Your Measurements
       1. Enter your body measurements
           a. If you’re using this form for pattern grading, you’ll have to type in the form
for each size you’re looking to create and then save a copy of the form or
write down the results. You shouldn’t need to redo your gauge information,
just the body measurements and potentially the ease and ribbing lengths.
        Chest Circumference*:
        Upper Arm Circumference:
        Neck to Wrist:
        Sweater Length:
        Neck Circumference
        (loosely):
        Wrist Circumference:
        V-Neck Depth:
If you'd like to make the crewneck,
you do not need to answer this
        question.
**Measure starting at the top of
        your sternum where your clavicles
        meet->down.
The last page of the pattern has a measurement
chart that you can refer to if you need help.
*If your sweater will be going past your hips and your hips measurement is larger than your
chest circumference, make sure either your ease is able to compensate for your hip
measurement, or just put your hip measurement in as your chest circumference.

                                  Mae Crochets
Ease
2. Enter your ease
     a. Ease is the size difference between your body and the finished object.
So if your chest measurement was 41″ and your sweater chest
measurement was 45″, that would be a sweater will 4″ of positive ease on
your body. The sweater is 4″ larger than your body.
     b. If you enter 0 for your ease, the sweater will fit exactly to your body. This
may be slightly tight on your chest. I recommend doing at least 1” (or 2.5
cm) of ease for both body and sleeves.
           Body Ease: Sleeve Ease:
Body Gauge
3. Make your gauge. You can use any stitch that you’d like for this pattern! Then,
enter the number of stitches and rows per inch/cm.
    a. Keep in mind that your stitch may have a specific amount of stitches
required to work. This is not worked into the form, so if this is the case, you
will have to adjust the final amounts accordingly.
         i. Ex: if your stitch requires that you have an even amount of stitches and
my calculations come out with an odd number, you’ll need to update
the value so it works with your pattern. There’s no way for you to
update the form, you’ll just need to remember to do so when making
            your sweater.
        Rows: Height (in or cm):
        Stitches: Width (in or cm):
4. Weigh your gauge:
    a. You only need to enter this if you’d like to calculate the estimated total
amount of yarn you will be using for this project.
**Weight of gauge (grams or oz):

                                    Mae Crochets
   Ribbing
  5. Enter the ribbing lengths. This is the height of the ribbing.
                                             Collar Ribbing Length:
Body Ribbing Length: This number effects the width of
your neck. So if you are wanting
to make a turtle-neck, do not
Sleeve Ribbing Length: enter a large number here or bad
things will happen... I would do
                                             1"/2.5cm and then add more
                                             stitches later in the pattern.
   Ribbing Gauge
  6. Make your gauge for the ribbing. Then, enter the number of stitches and rows
  per inch/cm.
       a. I wrote the instructions for the ribbing as slst in blo for crochet and 1x1
ribbing for knit, but you can do whatever ribbing you'd like. Just make sure
you do that stitch for your gauge!
           Rows: Height (in or cm):
           Stitches: Width (in or cm):
  7. Weigh your gauge:
      a. You only need to enter this if you’d like to calculate the estimated total
amount of yarn you will be using for this project.
**Weight of gauge (grams or oz):
   Yarn Information
  8. Enter the grams/oz and yards/meter information for your yarn:
       a. You only need to enter this if you’d like to calculate the estimated total
amount of yarn you will be using for this project.
       b. Make sure you use the same weight unit of measure that you used to
measure the weight of your gauge. (If you used grams, enter in the yarn’s
grams; if you used ounces, enter in the yarn’s ounces.)
Yards/Meters: Amount of yarn Crewneck: NaN
                                           needed:
Grams/Ounces: (yards/meters) V-Neck: NaN
  9. Now you should be good to go to start the pattern! The pattern is formatted to
fit your measurements perfectly using the yarn that you’ve gauged out.

TIP FOR KNITTING If you're working on a knit sweater, you may find it
easier to work the body in the round instead of panels.
                   Here is what I suggest:
                      1. Go to the body section and see what the stitch
count is. Cast on both the front and back panel
stitch amounts and connect them in the round.
                     2. Complete the bottom ribbing specified in the
                         ribbing section.
                     3. Continue in the round the body, stopping where the
armholes should start, specified in the joining
                         section.
                     4. Split the front and back panels and continue to
                         those instructions.

PATTERN
  Back
Make the back panel NaN stitches wide, and NaN rows tall. When
you're a few rows in, I recommend double-checking your gauge!
  Do NOT fasten off.
  Neckline:
  *Go across for NaN stitches.
Crochet: leave the rest of the stitches unworked, turn continuing to 'Next rows'.
Knit/Tunisian crochet: fasten off NaN stitches. Go across for NaN
stitches (the other side of the neckline). You should have NaN loops on
each side of the neckline. Leave the loops on your needle/hook to finish later.
Next rows: Continue stitch pattern for a total of -1 rows on the shoulder
section with each row containing the stitch amount specified. f/o.*
Attach your yarn to the other side of the neckline/shoulder.
Repeat between * for the other side of the neckline/shoulder. If you are doing
knit/tunisian crochet, attach your yarn to the loops left on the other side of the
  neckline and continue there.
The back of your sweater should look like the diagram with a total of NaN
   stitches across and NaN rows.
           UNIVERSAL DROP-SHOULDER SWEATER
                                 Mae Crochets
Front: Crewneck
Make the front panel NaN stitches wide, and 0 rows tall. Do not
fasten off.
Neckline:
*Go across for -2 stitches, dec, complete one more stitch.
Crochet: leave the rest of the stitches unworked, turn.
Knit/Tunisian crochet: fasten off -2 stitches. Dec, go across for -2
stitches (the other side of the neckline). You should have NaN loops on each
side of the neckline. Leave the loops on your needle/hook to finish later.
You will now be adding decs to shape the neckline. The decs will be done on the
inside of the collar. If you dec multiple times, do them right next to each other. I
recommend having one normal stitch at the end of each row. Therefore, start
your last dec 3 sts away from the end of the row, then complete one more stitch
to end the row.
Dec 2 times on each row for a total of rows.
Dec 1 time on each row for a total of rows.
You should have NaN stitches.
Continue stitch pattern without any dec for more rows. f/o.*
Attach your yarn to the other side
of the neckline/shoulder.
Repeat between * for the other
neckline/shoulder. If you are doing
knit/tunisian crochet, attach your
yarn to the loops left on the other
side of the neckline on the outside
of the sweater, working out->in and
continue with the 'Dec 2 times'
instruction.
The front of your sweater should
look like the diagram with a total of
 NaN stitches across and
 NaN rows.
           UNIVERSAL DROP-SHOULDER SWEATER
                                 Mae Crochets
Front: V-Neck
Make the front panel NaN stitches wide, and 0 rows tall. Do not
fasten off.
Neckline:
*Go across for -3 stitches, dec, complete one more stitch.
Crochet: leave the rest of the stitches unworked, turn.
Knit/Tunisian crochet: fasten off 1 st, dec, go across for -3 stitches (the
other side of the neckline). You should have -1 loops on each side of the
neckline. Leave the loops on your needle/hook to finish later.
Next Row: Place a dec every NaN rows until you have NaN stitches.
Example: If you need to decrease every 2 rows, you will do 1 row without a dec,
then the next row with a dec, then repeat until you have the specified
           number of stitches.
Below is what your row would look like if you're on a dec row.
Row Out->In: Continue stitch pattern until the end of the row until 3 sts
remain, dec, complete one more stitch, turn.
Row In->Out: Dec, continue stitch pattern until the end of the row, turn.
Continue stitch pattern without any dec for 0 more rows. f/o.*
Attach your yarn to the other side of the neckline/shoulder.
Repeat between * for the other
neckline/shoulder. If you are doing
knit/tunisian crochet, attach your yarn to
the loops left on the other side of the
neckline and continue there.
The front of your sweater should look like
the diagram with a total of NaN
 stitches across and NaN rows.
           UNIVERSAL DROP-SHOULDER SWEATER
                                 Mae Crochets
Sleeves (x2)
Make the sleeves NaN stitches wide, and NaN rows tall. f/o.
If you would like fitted sleeves, you can go to the ribbing section and check out
the stitch amount required for your sleeve cuffs and try to equally decrease to
that number in the number of rows required.
If you’d like, you can also make the sleeves circular rather than square.
Crochet: after completing the chain, slst into the first ch without twisting the
chain. Continue the stitch pattern until you meet the first st. You can either slst
to the first st and start a new row, or create a continuous row by continuing your
stitch pattern without a slst. Make sure you use a stitch marker to mark the
beginning of your rows.
Knit: after cast on, join in the round with circular needles. Make sure you use a
stitch marker to mark the beginning of rows. You could also pick up stitches on
the armholes. Just make sure the number of stitches matches the above
calculation so your sleeves fit!
Tunisian Crochet: to join the sleeve circular, you’ll need a double-ended Tunisian
crochet hook. I would look up a video tutorial if you’re interested.

Joining
Join the shoulders together: whipstitch across the top joining the top of the
front panel and the top of the back panel together.
Join sides together: attach your yarn to the bottom corner and whipstitch up
the sides matching up the rows on the front and the back ( NaN rows
sewn together or 0 in/cm height on the body and 0 in/cm
height for the armhole), leaving space for the armholes. Double-check the
heights to make sure that your armholes won't be too tight. Sometimes the row
amount is off on the physical sweater.
Join the sleeves together (if you did not make them joined already): turn the
sleeves inside out and attach your yarn to the bottom of the sleeve. Whipstitch
  up the sleeve.
Add the sleeves to the body: with the sleeves turned inside out and the body
also inside out, whipstitch the sleeves into the unsewn rows on the sides of the
  body.

V-Neck Collar Ribbing Version 1:
(v-neck with decreases and is not split)
Attach your yarn to the middle of the back on the neckline.
Row 1: sc around the neckline placing a dec where the shoulders start on the back
(the 90-degree corner) and in the middle of the v, slst in first sc.
Row 2: ch NaN , slst in the blo across starting in the 2nd ch from the hook,

unworked.
Repeat rows 3 & 4.
Next: turn, slst in blo across, then slst in blo into the unworked stitches.

insert your hook into the first unworked stitch, then slst. This will close that hole
up)
Continue repeating rows 3 & 4 until you meet where you started. Join seam by a
slst join. f/o.
V-Neck Collar Ribbing Version 2:
(v-neck without any decreases and is split in the front)

Knit Ribbing Continued
If you need help, I referred to this tutorial.
V-Neck Collar Ribbing:
Pick up the stitches knitwise along the edge of the sweater using a circular
needle about 0.5mm smaller than the one you used for the body. Place a stitch
marker. Place a hanging stitch marker (a marker that clips/opens) onto the stitch
in the middle of the v on the front panel.
Row 1: *k, p* repeat between * until one stitch before your hanging stitch marker.
If your next stitch is a knit and not a purl, k2tog your next stitch and the stitch
with the hanging stitch marker. If your next stitch is a purl, just continue. Move
the hanging stitch marker to the new stitch, and repeat between * until you meet
your end-of-the-row stitch marker. If your last stitch will be a knit stitch, instead,
p2tog on your last two stitches, sm.
Row 2: *k, p* repeat between * until one stitch before the hanging stitch marker.
Slip 2 sts over together (like knitting two sts together, but slipping instead)
removing the stitch marker, k, pass the 2 slipped sts over the knitted st. Place the
hanging stitch marker on the knit stitch. Continue repeating between * with
knitting on a knit stitch and purling on a purl stitch until you meet the end-of-the-
row stitch marker, sm.
Row 3 - NaN : repeat row 2. You can add as many decreases in the middle
as you like. You can decrease every row or you could decrease every other row if
you'd like! It might all depend on how wide your neckline is.
