Safe Talk Overview
It is mandatory that all seniors use the most current version of Safe Talk available on the Crew
Portal in pre-flight briefings

All Crew Members including seniors and deadheading crew must answer a Safe Talk question. All
questions asked must be taken from the current Safe Talk document

Seniors shall not ask questions which are not in the Safe Talk publication

All topics (SEP/AVSEC/GMT) relevant to the flight operated must be covered in every briefing in all
cabins

It is mandatory for all seniors to follow the published Safe Talk guidelines when conducting a pre-flight
safety briefing
For any additional information regarding Emirates Pre-Flight Briefing Standards and
Procedures, please refer to the OM-E Sub-Section 3.1.2.5

Outstation Pre-Flight Briefing
At Outstations, after each full rest period down route, multi sectors, medium and long haul flights, the Cabin Supervisor must
facilitate a discussion with all Cabin Crew. When there is more than one Cabin Supervisor, the Purser will assign who will
facilitate the discussion. The Purser must be present to oversee the discussion.

Examples of a safety or emergency related discussion to be facilitated are listed below. Each Cabin Supervisor, under the supervision of the
Purser can decide upon the topic for discussion, but it should be relevant to the flight. It is mandatory for all seniors to follow the published
Safe Talk guidelines when conducting a pre-flight safety briefing

• Pre-Flight Checks • Anticipated and Unanticipated Light Turbulence; conducting and

The safety or emergency related discussion should relate specifically to the flight to be operated. The following points should be
considered:
• Aircraft Type • Relevant Safety and Emergency equipment
• Environment of the airport of departure e.g. is the runway • Passenger profile e.g. Special Category Passengers
surrounded by water? Weather conditions? • Routing e.g. over water, mountainous region etc
• Time of day and levels of natural light e.g. Night time departure • Potential weather conditions during the flight
