La banda C. A. Quintet nació en 1965 de la mano de los hermanos Ken y Jim Erwin, en sus comienzos la banda tocaba temas algo comerciales y bailables, pero en algún momento entre 1966 y 1967 la banda dio un paso definitivo al sumergirse en el pantanoso terreno del underground, que dio como resultado su ultimo trabajo llamado ‘Trip Thru Hell’ la placa es oscura, mágica, de una extraña belleza. La banda cambia bastante desde los primeros singles haya por el 66, con el tiempo y la creciente escena musical de su época, la banda da un giro hacia un sonido más underground, inspirado quizás en el gran éxito del rock ácido californiano...

Cream fue una banda de rock británica de los años 60. Fue uno de los primeros y más célebres power trios y supergrupos de la década. Estaba formada por Eric Clapton en la guitarra, Jack Bruce en el bajo y como vocalista, y Ginger Baker en la batería.
Esta formación dio lugar a una de las más vitales y efectistas bandas entre 1966 y 1968. Cream es considerada una banda adelantada a su época y de una influencia inconmensurable. Supuso el adiós del pop por la vía del blues y la búsqueda de mayor amplitud conceptual para el rock.

Los Pretty Things, de las grandes bandas de su época quizá sean una de las más desconocidas. Quizá se los recuerde más por el crudo R&B de sus inicios, con canciones como “L.$.D” o “Come See Me”.
Tras un incomprensible giro estilístico, plasmado en el quizá album menor Emotions y sucesivos cambios de formación, en 1967 se meten en los mismos estudios donde se estaba grabando Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band de los Beatles y The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn de Pink Floyd: los míticos Abbey Road Studios. Allí alumbran el primer disco conceptual de la historia, o uno de los primeros: la triste historia de Sebastian Sorrow.

La historia es relatada de manera sutil, a veces dramática, con acompañamientos musicales realmente espectaculares. Sosegada a veces, estridente en algunos momentos, con rasgueos de guitarra folk, casi diríamos mantras, y a veces rozando el hard rock. que se miran mucho en el espejo de los Beatles. Aun así, desborda originalidad y talento por todos lados.
Primera ópera rock de la historia con gran influencia en Peter Townshend lider de los Who y su obra Tommy.
