Tavendale made the following statement to Ballotpedia regarding her political philosophy:[5]

I believe in libertarianism, in the non-aggression principle and each person's right to life, liberty and the fruits of their labour. I am running for office to be a true representative for the people of District 33, and to provide a voice of liberty in the state House. [6]
