Colors and patterns

There were a few days of persistent rain that I used for sewing.

There was a request from my family for a small cosmetic bag.

And because I love granting wishes—and it’s so much fun—I sewed a second one...

It’s nice when you open bags and find a lovely interior, and I like having small compartments inside them.

Before the nice weather returned, I spent some time playing around with fabrics... I'll keep you posted on the progress.

In addition, there was cooking, baking, hiking, cycling, and swimming...

I love my hot lunch.

The August apples were harvested.

Apple Crumble :-)

Hiking in the national park...

is always nice.

The farmer's full-time job.

For us, summer is the time for cycling.

My bike has been overhauled.

Favorite cake as a thank-you – quark with raisins -

There are fantastic routes all around...

There is almost nothing more fantastic than going for a swim after a bike ride.

If I could, I would hold onto August with all its beauty.

Sending you warm greetings, dear blogger friend.

All the best, Viola

 Furthermore

Good Morning Sunshine

A few sewing tasks

Nature tours

A picnic is always a good idea – with coffee.

And bike rides in the summer are simply wonderful.

Around the lake and

into the water... without the bike :-)))

An observation tower

To my great delight,

I saw an incredible number of swallows' nests in the tower.

This observation tower was built next to a playground and a café; it is located in the Lusatian Lake District. This is an artificial landscape in Germany created after coal mining operations ceased. Coal extraction began in 1880 and ended in 1990. Five lakes—formerly open-cast mines—are connected by artificial canals...

We rounded off the day in the garden with Italian pizza

and fine, chilled white wine.

And here are the delicious tomatoes to go with it... I am absolutely delighted at how magnificently they are thriving in the garden.

I wish you all a wonderful time. Do beautiful things.

Sending lots of love,

Viola.

Sommerzeit - Ferienzeit

It is wonderful to see the blooming sunflowers, and that magnificent yellow across the fields—which are now gradually being harvested... my thanks go to all the farmers! I love grinding grain in my little mill and using it to create delicious things... like my sourdough rye bread or delicious cakes

with these wonderful blueberries from the forests around the Giant Mountains.

We took a tour of the Giant Mountains, and the mountain ridge lies along the border between Poland and the Czech Republic; it is one of my favorite mountain ranges, with its subarctic climate, striking glacial cirques, bogs, and vast high plateaus.

In my youth, I undertook a 40-kilometer day hike along the entire ridge to this mountain hut; I was therefore particularly pleased to visit it now... beautiful memories :-))

Now that we are grandparents, we took the lift—up and down—at a leisurely pace.

Even so, our hikes covered many kilometers.

I send warm greetings and wish you days filled with joy.

Hug Viola
