Update about blog

The joy of waking to this view each morning is just so wonderful. Even if the camera sees all the distortions from the window screen, I easily ignore them. Many of these green trees stand near or by the Animas River which flows through the town.

It's four o'clock time

While I was off getting my ticker repaired, it rained almost constantly.
This is the result. One or two seedlings.

I think I need to visit a nursery, or get some good seeds.

So after I throw away all the bad dirt which killed al my little coleus plants...maybe buy another bag of good dirt...then start gardening again. The kalancho, rosemary and lavender have survived a half and half mixture so far. I am so sorry I tried to use last years' dirt. Never again.

Coming up from the ground

We have piles of mulch applied to the various planted areas of the apartment complex.
I love seeing the rose bushes, which fortunately were allowed to remain when other plants were removed, like the big hibiscus bush. Gone. But this week, right about where it used to be, there was a disturbance in the earth.

A bit closer...no ants are to be seen, though that was my first thought.

Then after the thunderstorm this afternoon...a big change!

It's turned black on top...not at all fuzzy like mildew...very strange thing.
do you have any ideas?
