ATC with masterboard

Sue here with ATC's.

ATC are artist trading cards that are 3 1/2" x 2 1/2".
Basically they are trading little works of art.  A masterboard is a full sheet of cardstock that is stamped, then cut up to create the ATC.

Go to my blog here to get more info on ATC's, and a cutting template.

Altered Playing Cards!

 Hi Crafty peeps!

Can you believe we are already into May!

Today I am sharing some altered playing cards - I haven't altered any cards for some time - I have been mostly doing art journal pages.

To create the backgrounds I added some scrunched tissue paper to the card and sponged some distress ink around the edges and across the card. I used clear gesso and the "Monarch Journal" TCW stencil available in store: click here. Once dry I added some black liquid acrylic paint and spritzed. And to finish off the background I used the text stamp from the "Correspondence" Stamp Set available in store: click here.

Next I added some elements to the front of the cards to finish off. I had some fabric butterflies from my stash and Tim Holtz paper dolls along with these stamps from the store: "Gothic Garden Flowers" by Miss Rach, phrase stamp from the "Fashionista" Sheet at IBFS.

Quick and easy vintage feel altered playing cards!

Wonderland ATC's

Hi Stamping Fans!

Today I'm sharing some ATC's!
I haven't "played" with these Alice in Wonderland Stamps for quite some time
 - these 2 stamps are from Set 2.

I created washi tape backgrounds and added gesso and ink sprays along with the stamped images and wording from an old "Through the Looking Glass" book!

A "Spooky" ATC!

 BOO!!!

How are you all enjoying this month's DT creations?

Who doesn't love creating spooky fun things for Halloween? Even though I live in Australia and we don't really celebrate Halloween I just love to create with Halloween themed stamps and there are so many to choose from at the store it makes it hard to decide which ones to use for my creations!

Today I am sharing a simple spooky atc using several BPM stamps!

I hope you enjoy my blog post today and feel inspired to join our challenge this month!

Supplies:

Blank Page Muse Stamp: Flying Owl with Moon

Blank Page Muse Stamp: Urban Scene Birds on a Wire

Blank Page Muse Stamp: "Spooky" Word

Paint Chip Sample cut to ATC Size

Kraft Card and Red Ink Pad

Scrap muslin, piece of cotton, thick red posca pen

General supplies: scissors, glue, double sided tape, mounting tape

Instructions:

Start by stamping with red ink onto your kraft card and fussy cut all images!

Cut your paint chip sample to ATC size or any size you wish to create with - works for a tag or even an ATCoin!

Edge the ATC with the red Posca pen and then adhere the scrap of muslin cloth and piece of cotton.

Arrange your stamped and fussy cut images onto the ATC and adhere. Use a piece of mounting tape to add the owl/moon stamp so it adds some dimension.

Thanks for joining me! Hope you can have some fun creating Halloween themed items this month!

Make sure you keep popping back here to see what everyone is sharing this month!

Happy Stamping!

A Girl for All Seasons ATC Art

Greetings!
I am excited to share this twist on ATC.
I love creating them but then never really enjoy them.

After creating these 4 ATC for this months Blank Page Muse Challenge (ALL Seasons),
I decided I loved my cards and wanted to mount them for myself!

Fall Leaves ATCs

Hello!  Susie on the blog today and I am still playing with leaves!

I swap ATC's (Artist Trading Card) with some of my friends and we tend to make the themes of the swaps seasonal.  I absolutely adore all of the stamps in the The Femmes collection, but they are too large to fit on an ATC.  This month I decided to use only a part of one of those images and I think it worked out beautifully!

Time to play...

Supplies:
The Femmes Fall Leaves Lady stamp, large
Clearsnap ColorBox Blends inks by Eileen Hull
Watercolor paper cut to ATCs - 2.5"x3.5"
Authentique  Paper
cardstock

Directions:
  • Position your stamp on a stamping platform and stamp image on a scrap paper.
  • Position ATC sized watercolor paper on top of the scrap paper to catch the part of the design you want.
  • Use a small amount of double sided adhesive on the back to hold it in place.
  • Stamp image.
  • Repeat this process until you have the correct number of ATCs for your swap.
  • Color images as desired.

When your ATCs are finished you can swap them *OR*  you can use them as focal images on cards!
(What a great idea!)

Looking at my collection of The Femmes stamps, I can definitely see more ATCs in my future!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!

Celebrate Dictionary Day with Blank Page Muse

Hello!  Susie on the blog and today we are celebrating Dictionary Day!

I am kind of a word nerd and will admit to flipping through the dictionary to find new and interesting words.  Who knew there was a day to celebrate that?! When I saw the Creativity Definition stamp from Blank Page Muse I had to have it!   Since today is Dictionary Day, I decided to combine my stack of gel prints with the definition stamp to create more ATCs for my CAS card stash.

Time to play...

Supplies:
Creativity Definition Word Phrase Rubber Stamp by Terri Sproul
Just Us Girls Line Figure Art Rubber Stamp Sheet by Terry Sproul
Background Grunge Art Rubber Stamp Sheet by Pam Bray
Gel prints for backgrounds
Archival Ink - Black, Aquamarine
Cardstock

Directions:
Cut gel print paper to 3.5" x 2.5" and stamp with Creativity definition in black ink.

Stamp female figure with black ink.

Stamp Background Grunge elements as desired.

Optional:  Stamp Background Grunge elements with alternate colors before adding definition and figure images.

Repeat to create additional gel print ATCs.

Mat ATCs with white cardstock and mount on black cardstock to create CAS cards.

I have to say, the Background Grunge stamps were great for adding little elements that balanced the designs and the Just Us Girls Line Figures are perfect for a little abstract playtime. I love making these ATCs because it is a fun and practical way to use up my creative experiments!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!

Standing Tall Flamingo ATC's

Hey Friends,
For my set of ATC's, I created a simple background with a border stamp. Then, I stamped the large flamingo onto pattern paper and fussy cut it.  To make the quote more visible, I painted over it with a stroke of pink watercolor paint.  Sometimes things can be simple yet still stunning.

Hi BPM Fans,
It's Karen here to share today's "Quick Idea".
The challenge theme for last month here at Blank Page Muse was to create miniature works of art the size of baseball cards known as ATC's (Artist Trading Cards).

I combined B&W with gold & silver and produced some stunning results.

Supplies:

  • black & gold ink pads
  • mini brads
  • ink applicator tool
  • gold & silver dimensional paint
  • 3D foam tape
  • clear mounting block
