Hewlett Packard sold me a piece of junk, and they have no customer service unless you want to pay for it.
I bought a new top of the line HP near $2000.00. I guess it's my fault for expecting it to actually work. I bought it from Best Buy who has absolutely no customer service. So, I tried customer service with HP, and this blows my mind, if I want them to help me, I have to pay for a subscription for their customer service. What has this world come to, talk about corporate Greed and absolutely no care in the world about customer service. I will never purchase anything ever made by HP again.
I will never buy an HP product again
I will never buy an HP product again, I will not give HP as a gift. I want nothing to do with HP. WHY, The INK cost and the main reason is that after I bought ah HP printer, HP tells me I have to use their ink. Never again. I feel like HP is stealing from me. HP, you had your chance and you failed. Never again and I feel great.
Bought a defective desktop
Bought a defective desktop. As requested, I returned it and they charged a $90 restocking fee.
This printer is a waste of time and money
I have had numerous problems with HP deskjet printer 2910, eg not printing at all, getting messages saying no wifi connection when it is connected, cartridges not being recognised, only printing one page of something comprising of several pages when it is set for "all" and no explanation or suggestions offered. I am not surprised that when I bought it I was invited to pay for 24 hour technical advice for a year. This is needed. I have never needed that for any other printer before. When I do phone for the advice it is not available at weekends because the adviser has to phone HP Support for help and they are closed at weekends. I do my printing at weekends when I have time. I have never had printer problems before. The printer is a disaster.
Horrible company in every aspect
Horrible company in every aspect. Hates theirs customers and is mocking them.
Probably the worst experience ever…
Probably the worst desktop I've ever owned (and I've had a few in my time). We bought an HP OmniDesk Slim PC in November 2026. It failed completely in March 2027 and was returned to HP for repair under warranty - it didn't augur well when the DPD driver arrived with a packing crate that was completely unsuited to the machine. The repair took a month (and HP's comms were pretty dire while we waited) and when it came back they'd replaced the motherboard and, of course, we'd lost any data that was on the drive. The repair lasted just over a month, before it failed again with all the same symptoms. They offered to repair it again, but as we were just inside the 6 month limit for a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (which I've quoted at them every time I've had contact with them) I requested a full refund. They eventually offered a new machine, but would not accept that it should be treated as a new purchase and hence be subject to the same 6 month period under the CRA. I refused this offer and they finally agreed to "buy back" the failed unit. Lo and behold, they screwed up the shipping arrangements (wrong day, so missed the collection) and the package was refused by the local UPS pick up point as the paperwork was inadequate as it's being shipped to Czechia for some reason. Currently waiting for another reply about the shipping, and no doubt will be left hanging for the refund as long as they dare. Avoid them like the plague, unless you enjoy banging your head against a brick wall repeatedly.
Full marks to Hewlett Packard.
I expected the run-around when attempting to solve a printer problem by phone after failing to find a solution on line. I instead received a replacement printer, delivered to the door by courier even though my printer was out of warranty. Apparently HP will do this under certain conditions.
HP’s AI chatbot initially attempted to solve the problem, but it ran into a brick wall. It then transferred the call - which dropped out. On the second call the chatbot actually remembered the one earlier, and without delay put me through to a friendly human technician. He examined my printer via a video link sent to my phone and asked me to show him the purchase receipt.
The entire phone interaction took 28 minutes. I called HP on a Monday at about 9:30am. The printer arrived the following Thursday (four days) even though the technician indicated the delivery might take eight to ten days.
It doesn’t get any better than this.
HP’s phone number in Australia is 13 10 47.
No longer a trustworthy brand.
Used to have a great HP printer back in the day so In lockdown I bought a HP laptop which is still going but wore out the keyboard after 3 years. Based on that I bought HP laptops the next 2 occasions. The first one went wrong after 8 months but got sorted - I then had a hardware failure at 14 months. The next one had exactly the same hardware failure (flashing caps lock wouldn't boot) after 13 months. Beyond repair. As a result I now have absolutely no trust left in Hewlett Packard and will never, never buy this brand of technology again. The quality of the laptops inside is shoddy and unreliable.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
If I could give you MINUS 1000 I WOULD!
2 years ago,my computer expert built me a computer hardrive and supplied me with an HP Pavilion 23xi screen, wireless keyboard, wireless mouse.
I now need to change the keyboard because some of the keys keep getting stuck and are badly faded.
I looked online for a replacement, typing in what I thought might be the serial number, which, normally starts with S/N or SN.
Unfortunately, the only thing I saw was this: P/N 704219-BL1 which I typed into Google search. My particular keyboard did not appear but quite a few others did.
I then went onto the HP website in an attempt to find a telephone number which would allow me to speak to someone. How bloody stupid of me to think that a COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY would allow their customers to COMMUNICATE with them easily.
When I found a number it gave me 4 options, the last of which was technical support. However, the problem is that it is operated by AI which would not recognise the P/N number.
I hung up and called the number again, this time choosing option 3 in the vain hope that someone from the sales team might possess two brain cells and the ability to help me choose the appropriate replacement keyboard.
What an error of judgement that proved to be. The person I spoke with said they could only place an order and would therefore transfer me to the 'POST SALES' team as they would be able to answer my question.
Guess what? They couldn't. The reason for this is because THEY DO NOT LISTEN! I explained I wished to replace my EXISTING keyboard but just wanted to know if I had to buy a particular wireless model or if any of your wireless keyboards would be viable.
Over and over, she kept asking me for an order number! In the end I had to hang up before I told her to take a VERY LONG walk off a short pier, whilst learning about sex and travel.
I then tried using your 'chat' option but that proved a wasted exercise too. AI can be very useful but it is EXTREMELY LIMITED in what it can do when faced with a customer that needs to complain or ask for advice.
Apparently, when I delved a bit further on your website, and looked for a way to contact you online, you give two options: the first is to contact you via email - which I tried but it wouldn't open the link and didn't supply me with the email address to which I could write directly; the second is to OPEN AN ACCOUNT just to be able to get the answer to probably the world's easiest question!
SERIOUSLY? Do you hate your customers so much that you will go to the ends of the earth to ensure that once they have your product and, more importantly, you have their money in your bank, they are driven mad trying to contact you should they need to?
I have had some eyewatering encounters with some companies when trying to make contact but yours WINS HANDS DOWN.
And, if I were you, I wouldn't be happy about winning! I would be utterly mortified.
You have to be the most unprofessional, disinterested, inept, incapable, contemptuous company I have EVER had the misfortune of crossing paths with and you can rest assured that I will make it my life mission to ensure NO-ONE i know will EVER part with their hard earned cash to purchase ANY of your products, not even a cable!
Steer clear of these rogues
Having just read Christopher A Smith's review I can relate entirely. I am currently on messenger with HP who told me to unplug and plug in again, when that didn't do anything they wanted photos of my ink cartridge because clearly they didn't believe me when I told them I buy HP cartridges from Currys.
I did use to have an ink account when I ran a business, I am now retired so I cancelled my ink and just buy what I need.
HP have been sending me 'warning' messages for months that if I didn't check my account I would no longer be able to print. I checked it and sure enough they wanted me to sign up again and pay them an ink subscription.
I now have an unusable printer on my desk and `i just bought new cartridges which are not cheap.
Steer clear of these rogues

Yet more breakdowns with frustrating times trying to get help from HP. No lasting solutions. Aviod HP) products.
Starting out positively, but sick of the hassle...
Starting out positively, I am on my second HP printer and OMEN Desktop with no technical issues on either the new OMEN purchased 2026, the 2017 OMEN and the printer purchased in 2024 or so. My other HP printer dates back to 2007, maybe later, no tech issues. My significant other has owned numerous HP laptops - no issues. My issue is with the communication regarding signature required for delivery of the computer. Order Management kept on stating there was a signature requirement while supervisors and chat reps stated there was none. I attempted to change the time/location of delivery. FedEx stated that HP would need to contact them with my order and tracking numbers and lift the supposed exception that HP placed on my order. HP Order Management had the solution to the problem right in their forward sensors and failed to utilize the opportunity to create a definite win-win situation. For some reason, HP does not want to ship to FedEx Walgreens Shipping Centers, but only to the less convenient FedEx Shipping Centers. I cannot accomplish what I do with the shipment of other items when shippers allow the customers flexibility with their delivery date. Not only is it lack of flexibility with a customer; it is a bad case of the left hand definitively doesn't know what the right hand is doing with HP Order Management...and the manager I spoke with could not step out of the HP party/policy line of stating that there was a signature required even when the POD stated there wasn't. In the future, I won't order custom made computers from HP where I can't modify either the location or date of delivery. I'll just pick one off the shelf at Best Buy....it still beats the two motherboard implosions on the Dells that I purchased in 2016...
OfficeJet Pro 8120e series
I bought a large-capacity genuine HP…
I bought a large-capacity genuine HP refill cartridge from HP for my laser printer, which stopped working when only around one half had been used. The printer is printing fine but it generates an error message (toner low) which stops it printing except on reset. There is little help online. I will not be buying a HP product again - I have previously paid a price premium for their products as they exhibit high reliability but clearly they have given up on this business model so now I will be going for the low-cost option every time, for printers and refills. Goodbye HP!
A éviter !
Aberrant. Plus jamais HP chez moi !
Ink and paper subscription is a scam, do not get taken in, you'll never get your money back.
They were happy to collect anything from £1.79 to £13.79 a month for ink subscription without supplying any ink for over 6 years. They make it nearly impossible for you to get them on the phone, and after hanging on for 32 minutes, drop the call. They did this more than once.
When I finally got hold of a person on the phone they were rude and abrupt, unhelpful and wanted to address me by my first name..I am over 60 years old and own clothes older than the operative!
THEIR INK AND PAPER SUBSCRIPTION ARE A SCAM, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!
Procédé pour vider les cartouches
HP Deskjet 2721e
Bought a new HP laptop and printer for…
Bought a new HP laptop and printer for voluntary charity work. How I now regret this decision. After just 3 months HP tell me the warranty has expired on the laptop. The printer worked after the initial setup, but only works intermittently now. I paid for help to get the printer working every time I needed it, but they could not manage any better than me. Both are going to the scrapheap, which is probably where they came from in the first place.
Only ever used genuine HP ink cartridges....
Bought a number of genuine HP ink cartridges online. Must have over purchased as when replacing one I noticed the use by date was 2022. HP Office Jet Pro 8620 said there were incorrect cartridges installed. They were not incorrect just "best before". Since they'd been kept in a sealed box unopened inside their original packaging in a cool, dark storage box I see no reason why they should not work. I tried multiple times over Christmas and the New Year, cleaning, wiping, resetting. Eventually my partner phoned support. They told him to do a factory reset. It will not even scan now, which is ridiculous since that has nothing to do with ink.
