Euro 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL
This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL was imported to the US from Germany in 1993 and was purchased by the seller in 2006. It is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in red over black upholstery. Equipment includes a black convertible top, a removable hardtop, 14″ steel wheels with painted covers, and a cassette radio. This W113 SL is now offered with the owner’s manual, service records, a spare radio, a hardtop stand, and a Maryland title in the seller’s name.
The W113 SL was designed by Friedrich Geiger, Béla Barényi, and Paul Bracq and was introduced to the public at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. This example is finished in red and features a black soft top, a removable hardtop, and European-specification headlights. Paint cracks around the body and a hole in the soft top are shown in the gallery.
The 14″ steel wheels feature covers with painted centers and are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires measuring 205/70. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs.
The cabin was refreshed in 1993 and houses bucket seats that were reupholstered in black upholstery along with color-coordinated replacement carpets. Interior appointments include an analog clock, a floor-mounted gear shifter, a Coustic cassette stereo, lap belts, and a heater.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.5-liter M129 inline-six was factory equipped with Bosch fuel injection and was rated at 170 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque when new. The battery and shift linkage bushings were replaced in preparation for the sale.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Rust is noted on the underside around the front left side.
The Maryland title carries a Not Actual Mileage brand.
