1977 Honda CB750A Hondamatic Project
This 1977 Honda CB750A Hondamatic is a non-running project that was purchased by the seller in 2024, following long-term storage. Finished in Candy Sword Blue, its powertrain consists of a 736cc inline-four paired with a two-speed Hondamatic semi-automatic transmission. Equipment includes 19″ and 17″ alloy rims, a front disc brake, an electric starter, a four-into-two exhaust system, chrome fenders, a black two-up seat, and both center and side stands. Showing 28k miles, this CB750A Hondamatic project is now offered at no reserve with a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
The 5.1-gallon fuel tank and the side panels are finished in Candy Sword Blue with gold striping, and the bike features a two-up seat upholstered in black vinyl. Brightwork includes the chain guard, fenders, and mirrors, and the bike is also outfitted with a helmet holder, both center and side stands, and a tubular engine guard with highway pegs. The headlight has been removed but will accompany the bike. Oxidation on various components is depicted in the gallery.
Wire-spoke 19″ and 17″ wheels with alloy rims wear a mixed set of Bridgestone Spitfire tires. Suspension consists of a conventional fork as well as dual preload-adjustable shocks mounted to the swingarm. Braking is handled by a front disc and a rear drum, and the bike is equipped with a parking brake.
Instrumentation includes a Nippon Seiki 130-mph speedometer with markers for maximum speed per gear in addition to a combination unit housing a gear indicator, a fuel-level gauge, and indicator lights. The five-digit odometer shows 28k miles, none of which were ridden under current ownership.
The 736cc inline-four was factory-equipped with an electric starter, a quartet of Keihin carburetors, and a chromed four-into-two exhaust system. Factory-rated output was 67 horsepower. The motorcycle has been in long-term storage and does not currently run, with the seller stating it needs a battery and fuel-system cleaning.
The drivetrain is comprised of a two-speed Hondamatic semi-automatic transmission with a torque converter as well as a final-drive chain.
The removed headlight will accompany the vehicle.
