We all have good ethical and political reasons to reject the president’s words. But those who serve in government, and in the armed forces, have been placed under the legal shadow of genocide by what Trump wrote. To bomb a bridge or a dam or a power plant or a desalinization facility, very likely a war crime in any event, could very well have a different legal significance, a genocidal one, if it takes place after the expression of genocidal intent by the commander and head of state.

More reasons to say "No!" to and (and other unnecessary satellites!).

SpaceX rocket fireball linked to plume of polluting lithium

Georgina Rannard, Science reporter, February 19, 2025

Excerpts: "When a SpaceX rocket failure set the skies aflame over western Europe last February, no-one was sure if the debris was also polluting our .

"Now scientists are directly linking the uncontrolled rocket re-entry to a plume of measured less than 100km above Earth.

"It is the first time researchers have drawn a direct link between a known piece of crashing to Earth and levels.

They warn that as SpaceX chief pledges to launch one million satellites in the coming years, this could be the tip of the iceberg."

        [...]

"Earlier research has suggested that 10% of aerosols in the atmosphere are already contaminated by space debris.

"SpaceX has not responded to emailed requests from BBC News for comment. The researchers also sent their findings to the company but did not receive a response.

"Almost 30,000 pieces of debris are calculated to be free-floating in space, created when rockets break up in space or satellites disintegrate.

"Scientists warn that the debris is congesting space and threatens collision with rockets, the International Space Station, and our planet.

"Musk's SpaceX is the world's leading company for rocket launches including for sending humans into space and maintaining a network of 10,000 Starlink internet satellites.

"Musk recently announced he has applied to launch one million satellites to support () data centres in space.

"Scientists warn that as humans move more activities off-Earth, more debris will fall to Earth, polluting as it plummets."

            How soon people forget...

A century ago, were targeted in like today’s

Opinion by Tommy Pinette, March 3, 2026

"Two years ago, I learned the infamous exploded in popularity throughout Maine during its resurgence in the 1920s. Across the United States, the terrorist group amassed hundreds of thousands of new followers in a rather clever dissemblance as a community service and fraternal organization. At one point, in fact, approximately 30% of Maine’s native-born population were enrolled members of the KKK. Yet they did not target Somali-Americans, people on work visas, or permanent residents from Africa — they vehemently attacked the people we now call Franco-Americans.

"Prominent Franco communities in , , , , and , called 'petits Canadas,' became targets of violence for the .

"One local history of the Franco-American community of Old Town recounts a horrific stand-off at French Island: holding torches and weapons, a mob of angry klansmen attempted to cross the bridge onto the island in order to burn it down. Only the rapid efforts of men in the community to block the bridge physically kept the island from going up in flames.

"And yet, I hear many of my Franco relatives talk poorly about immigrants. They repeat similar slogans to the ones President Donald Trump spreads about immigrants who come from Africa, particularly those from East Africa: “they shouldn’t be here … Somalia is not even a country” Animus defines how many Franco-Americans understand immigrants, the people who stand in the very same place their ancestors once stood a couple generations ago.

"Do not forget that our came at a great historical cost in the forms of systemic French language suppression, decades of shameful stereotypes, and barriers to higher education. For almost 70 years, the state of Maine had a legislative policy of only offering public education in English. We must remember our ancestors, the memères and pepères who endured the same xenophobic insults immigrants in America face today."

& : New evidence for precaution from Mexican scientists

                    March 4, 2025

" banned genetically modified () corn from use in tortillas in 2023. The challenged the policy as an unfair trade practice, claiming Mexico’s precautionary policies were not based on science. In response, Mexico’s national science agency compiled one of the most comprehensive and thorough reviews to date of current scientific evidence showing associated with production and consumption of the most widely grown crop in the U.S.

"In this webinar, the former director of Mexico’s National Council for Humanities, Science and Technology and the agency’s lead researcher on the topic presented Mexico’s recently released scientific review document. The evidence draws on recent literature to make the case that there are unacceptable health risks from GM corn and glyphosate for Mexican people who consume large quantities of minimally processed corn in food products such as tortillas.

"Dr. , who directed the national science agency for six years, outlined the research carried out to underpin Mexico’s 2023 decree to restrict the use of GM corn in tortillas and other minimally processed corn products, and to phase out the use of glyphosate.

"Erica Hagman Aguilar presented the key findings from the well-referenced 200-page science dossier, which was recently translated into English.

"This webinar was moderated by researcher and writer Timothy A. Wise.

"The discussion was co-hosted with , a nonprofit public health research group. It was presented with simultaneous English/Spanish interpretation. "

Pays Zero Federal Despite Explosive Growth, Largely Due to Tax Law

by Matthew Gardner, February 17, 2026

"The CEO of Palantir, the tech company known for equipping with that hack into people’s phones, recently said he runs 'the first company to be completely .' This week, we learned that a key part of being anti-woke is, apparently, not paying taxes.

"In its recent earnings call summarizing fiscal year 2025, a Palantir exec crowed that the company’s explosive growth and profitability for the year was 'one of the truly iconic performances in the history of corporate performance.' But the company neglected to mention one weird trick that also fueled its 2025 growth: this is the third straight year that a profitable Palantir has avoided paying even a dime of federal income tax on its earnings.

"Palantir’s annual financial report, released this week, shows the company enjoyed $1.5 billion of U.S. income and paid exactly zero federal income tax. At the 21 percent federal income tax rate profitable companies theoretically pay, Palantir should have paid $330 million.

"While the company used a variety of tax breaks to achieve this, the most obvious is the new tax break enacted by Congress at the behest of President Trump last summer. The 'One ' allows companies to (retroactively) immediately deduct their research expenses, rather than writing them off gradually over time in line with the income generated from that research. Palantir reduced its taxes by over $400 million using this provision.

"U.S. are paying multiple times for the services provided by Palantir, which the Trump administration finds so valuable. First, we pay the bill for the government contracts signed with the company, for example, the deal signed in April for Palantir to provide ICE with a system to track immigrants. Then we pay again with subsidies provided through the tax code, including the $400 million for the 'research' the company has done to create these innovations in government surveillance.

"It’s not news that helping the Trump administration with its policy goals can be enormously profitable. But it’s important to recognize that Palantir’s recent success has been helped substantially by a far more pedestrian tool: handouts from American taxpayers."

“SpaceX has acquired xAI to form the most ambitious, vertically-integrated innovation engine on (and off) Earth, with AI, rockets, space-based internet, direct-to-mobile device communications and the world’s foremost real-time information and free speech platform,' the company said. 'This marks not just the next chapter, but the next book in SpaceX and xAI’s mission: scaling to make a sentient sun to understand the Universe and extend the light of consciousness to the stars!' [How much Special-K did you take, dude?]

"The merging of what is arguably Musk’s most successful company, SpaceX, with the more speculative xAI venture is a risk. Founded in 2023, xAI’s main products are the generative AI chatbot Grok and the social media site X, formerly known as Twitter. The company aims to compete with OpenAI and other artificial intelligence firms. However, Grok has been controversial, including the sexualization of women and children through AI-generated images, as has Musk’s management of Twitter."

"The former Pink Floyd man made the claim during an interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan on January 16.

When this regime 'under which everything not prohibited is compulsory' inevitably fails to deliver a perfect society, things turn violent, both in the country’s internal struggles and in its conflicts with other powers. To many Americans at the time of World War II, this might seem like a wholly foreign disorder, liable to afflict only such distant lands as Italy, Japan, and Germany. But a notional American fascism would look and feel familiar, working 'under the guise of ‘super-patriotism’ and ‘super-Americanism.’ Fascist leaders are neither stupid nor naïve. They know that they must hand out a line that ‘sells.’ "

Excerpt: "Federal prosecutors have filed a new indictment in response to a July 4 noise demonstration outside the in , during which a police officer was shot.

"There are numerous problems with the indictment, but perhaps the most glaring is its inclusion of charges against a Dallas who wasn’t even at the protest. Daniel 'Des' Sanchez is accused of transporting a box that contained ' materials' after the incident, supposedly to conceal evidence against his wife, Maricela Rueda, who was there.

"But the boxed materials aren’t Molotov cocktails, pipe bombs, or whatever officials claim 'Antifa' uses to wage its imaginary war on America. As prosecutors laid out in the July criminal complaint that led to the indictment, they were zines and pamphlets. Some contain controversial ideas — one was titled '' — but they’re fully constitutionally protected free speech. The case demonstrates the administration’s intensifying efforts to criminalize left-wing after Donald Trump announced in September that he was designating 'Antifa' as a 'major terrorist organization' — a legal designation that doesn’t exist for domestic groups — following the killing of Charlie Kirk.

"Sanchez was first indicted in October on charges of 'corruptly concealing a document or record' as a standalone case, but the new indictment merges his charges with those against the other defendants, likely in hopes of burying the First Amendment problems with the case against him under prosecutors’ claims about the alleged shooting.

"It’s an escalation of a familiar tactic. In 2023, Georgia prosecutors listed as part of the charges against 61 protesters in a sprawling indictment that didn’t bother to explain how each individual defendant was involved in any actual crime. I wrote back then about my concern that this wasn’t just sloppy overreach, but also a blueprint for censorship. Those fears have now been validated by Sanchez’s prosecution solely for possessing similar literature."

"Orbán, though, showed no such appetite for cracking down on the annual rally, which this February drew attendees sporting SS patches, , and the '' death’s head symbol — all under the watchful eye of Hungarian police.

"The aggressive response to antifascist activists, compared to the kid-gloves treatment of neo-Nazi demonstrators, has roiled European politics for years.
On Thursday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio joined the fray, inserting the U.S. into the debate by declaring the antifascist group that attacked the 2023 rally a terrorist organization.

"Though the designation is aimed at foreign groups, Rubio said that he was acting in accordance with President Donald Trump’s National Security Presidential Memorandum-7, or , regarding purported 'domestic' terrorists.

"The terror designation will cut off the small group, and three others designated by Rubio on Thursday, from raising funds in the U.S. It could also imperil American groups with civil and criminal allegations of 'material support' for terrorism, a civil rights lawyer warned.

" 'The clever way to go about it for them is to designate some foreign organization, because a foreign organization can be designated and there is almost no ,' said Shane Kadidal, a lawyer at the Center for Constitutional Rights. “Then, you go after the U.S. groups for supposedly coordinating their political messages with the messages of the foreign groups.'

"Rubio’s announcement follows on the heels of one from Trump in September that he was designating antifa a 'major terrorist organization,' which has no basis in law. The foreign terrorist organization designations, however, entail significant legal consequences.

"Under a 2010 ruling from the Supreme Court, domestic groups can face '' charges for providing nonviolent support to designated foreign terrorist organizations.

"Kadidal said the Trump administration could essentially try to use the foreign terrorist designations as a workaround to target domestic antifascists with 'material support' charges. Key questions such as whether domestic activists had knowledge and intent to coordinate with foreign groups can be left for a jury to decide based on circumstantial evidence, he said.

" 'That is one of those things that makes this so dangerous,' he said. 'The jury may just decide, ‘Yeah, whatever you have alleged about this coordination of messaging is true, because these are bad people in front of me.'

" 'Juries do this thing all the time. They jump to conclusions.' "

In the face of this reality, we feel its important to be clear about our inability to continue, in the hopes that more people can push themselves to build and grow media projects and platforms.

It is the persistent sense that things could be otherwise, that there is nothing natural or inevitable about the prevailing social order. In a world optimized for administration, everything that cannot be classified or displayed on a screen is crimethink. It is the spirit of rebellion without which freedom is literally unthinkable.

As confirmed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, our children (who frequently drink orange juice for breakfast) are especially vulnerable to pesticides and measures should be taken immediately to protect them,' she added.
