There was an internet outage during the work day. I have been on hold for 2-3 hours at a time on the phone only to be hung up on twice when someone finally answered before speaking a word. I was o... See more

Would give zero stars if I could
Would give zero stars if I could. Wifi either cuts out or goes out completely just about every day. Thought it was a problem with the router. Replaced it but nope same problems. Scam do not buy their services.

VMEDIA IS NOT TRANSPARENT in their billings Contract/discount offers. Why charge $28 for restocking that wasn't disclosure in the contract!!!
Also when you unsubscribe make sure to always check your credit card for the first few months.
The first few years were good
The first few years were good, now they are the worse, I have been having problems with my internet for the last 3 weeks, I can’t get a hold of nobody, there customer care is the worst, its impossible to cancel my subscription
Lack of transparency
Lack of transparency: charged a restocking fee of $25 for returning rental modem after 1.5 year of use, even though the fee was not disclosed in their contracts.
Good Internet but dumb policies
This company has great Internet but they are greedy. When you send the equipment back They charge a $25 stocking fee for the return of the equipment. Even Rogers doesn't do that. For that reason I cannot recommend this company.

This is a scam being operated from Hyderabad India by Girish and Team please screw them up . Its in NSL building UPPAL
Charing a restocking fee is the same as Charging for the modem
Compared with other providers the internet was ok, Latency was a little higher but other then that it was fine. TV was another story though. On multiple occasions we had channels freeze up randomly. Called in so many times and with no resolution. Sometimes their support teams would be combative. After enduring the TV channel problem long enough I decided to leave. So I cancelled my account and sent back the modem like customer service said so that I would not be charged a fee for the modem. They did not charge me for the modem, BUT they did charge me a restocking fee.
Really vmedia??? A restocking fee??? That is such poor business practice. I will never use vmedia again nor promote them, all because of a restocking fee of $28. You make the other providers look so much better.
THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE
THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE! First the wait period for the install and the wait period for the upgrade to a faster service took over 3 weeks. Then I moved to another apartment with internet included. They emailed me a label to print and asked me to drop off the rented equipment at a purolator drop off. I did this. I dropped this off at Staples in Vancouver. They have been harassing me for payment for this equipment since. They are now threatening legal proceedings. Ive filed a better business bureau complaint but of course they didn't respond. The internet was also spotty and I would not recommend this to anyone.
Throttling, unreliable. Would shut down and throttle randomly…
My WiFi provider shut down service in the area so I signed up to vmedia internet 25. It was the same speed/ wifi as my old provider. With my old wifi I could stream on zoom 24/7 to study. Never really had any issues. As soon as I got vmedia I noticed my wifi was so unreliable because it would fully shut off three times a day for 10-15 minutes. My zoom video was constantly glitching. If I ran two YouTube videos together like a study music and another it would slow to nearly stopping. It was bad. I’m sure they were throttling so I would upgrade because sometimes it worked fine. I wasn’t allowed to “host” on zoom because my connection would fail randomly.
I’m not too picky with wifi as long as it’s consistent. But it was so unreliable after 3 weeks I had to change providers. Signed up with oxio (never heard of them in my life) for cheaper and have not had an issue since.
Currently waiting on hold on VMedia to tell them I already threw out their router and cancel payment. The sales rep told me I can’t cancel without paying for the second month even though I signed up less than a month ago.
The customer service is terrible
The customer service is terrible. We have to wait for 1 hour to get customer service and if they transfer to another agent another one hour minimum. But probably long. Each time transfer we need to provide all the personal address and service details again and again as they don't have a system to know who is the first caller. Terrible way of doing business.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Hours and hours at this point spent on hold trying to reach tech support. No interest from anyone I've spoken to on trying to resolve things, they seem like they couldn't care less.
If you want accurate factual information from your provider do not use these guys.
After dealing with Bell, Rogers and Start I have an expectation of accurate information when I deal with my internet issues.
On July 27, 2025 I woke up to find my internet was down. I went on my phone to see Vmedia web site to see if there were any issues with my area. According to the site there was none.
I then saw tec support is open from 10am to 9pm but it did not tell me with time zone. When I finally did get through to the que the first 7 times tec support hung up it took me 8 tries to get through.
When I did get through they told me they use eastlink in my area and there was nothing wrong with the service. They booked me a tec call the earliest was Monday the 28th. I went outside at this point and saw both bell and eastlink working on the lines which tells me there were issues with the internet for my area. According to what I was told a driver took out a pole over night and most of my area was down regardless of the provider.
the internet was back up around 7pm. I got a telephone message today the 27th. telling me the tec will be at my house between 8 -11 on the Monday.
I called Vemedia to cancel the call since the issue was resolved and it was an outside issue, they told me to keep the appointment and they can make sure everything is working. I then asked them about the times stated on the web site 10-9 and I was told this is for all the provinces except BC. I found that strange since I could not complete the call until 11 am my time which is 10 am Eastern.
My issues are they need to train their employees to provide factual information not make it up as they go and to be able to make 1 call not 8 to get help. I gave 2 stars only because the people I spoke to at Vmedia were prolite.
A Prime Example of Predatory Customer Service Sludge
I'm convinced I just experienced the ninth ring of Dante’s Inferno. I spent FOUR AND A HALF HOURS on the phone with customer service on behalf of my father, trying to resolve ongoing issues with his phone and internet.
In a truly remarkable display of terrible customer service that could test even the most ironclad will and mental strength, they had me troubleshoot the exact same thing no less than six times, with intermittent “1–3 minute” holds (translation: 15 minutes), only to circle back to the same series of questions…over…and over…and over again. The rep kept claiming, “Now we must try this ONE last step.” I lost hope after the third time she said that.
Finally, at the end, she informed me that the next step in the protocol (wait, there was a protocol?) was to raise an internal inquiry so the team could try to resolve the issue remotely. Was that not what we were just doing for the past 4.5 hours?
She couldn’t tell me what our next options were if that didn’t work, what to expect next, or what happens if we miss the callback. So I sit here 4.5 hrs later no further ahead than when this nightmare began. There truly needs to be a negative star option on TrustPilot.
I'm convinced this is a prime example of purposefully obtuse sludge, one that should really be illegal because 4.5 hrs is about 56% percent of a working man's 8 hr shift.
Heading to Eastlink tomorrow AM.
I wish I could give 0 stars
I wish I could give 0 stars. 1 is too high.
I called to setup internet. They confirmed they could give service to my area. They set everything up including billing me. Said modem would come in the mail and booked three potential tech appointments just in case something goes wrong with the plug and play installation. Excellent. I wait a week and a half and there has been no modem in the mail and no tech arrived. I call them and wait on hold for 20 mins to get told the service I had signed up for was cancelled because it actually isn't available in my area. I never received an email or a phone call or anything. I've been without Internet for two weeks and now need to start over in setting up Internet!
Probably the worst experience I've ever had with any Internet provider.1
If you want to wait 12 hours on hold…
If you want to wait 12 hours on hold this is the company for you.
RUN AWAY, FAR AND FAST.
Literally the worst ISP I have ever spoken to!
Signed up at 12:03 am (just after midnight) last night and by 10am this morning I was already on the chat looking to cancel. The information presented online when I signed up is completely different than the information that was in the emails sent to me at 10am. And that information is completely different than the information all 3 agents gave me (1 chat, 1 customer service on the phone, and 1 supervisor) - which of course was all different info from agent to agent. I will NOT use any services that is this hidden and evasive about their processes, fees, etc.
Anyway, get told I can't cancel via chat (after being told I CAN cancel through chat) so I have to call in. 45min wait to get to the first agent who just kept cutting me off to beg me to stay with them with discount this and promotion that. I finally had to cut her off, very firmly, and say I AM NOT INTERESTED, I WILL NOT RECONSIDER, CANCEL THE SERVICES. She then says she can't even do that and transferred me to the cancellation department which was another 15ish minute long hold (despite her stating it would be an immediate connect)
This cancellation dude spent the first 30-40 ish minutes cutting me off, talking over me, calling me a liar, and all this other crap. And, this is on top of him repeatedly (no less than 10 times) stating the services would be cancelled on the phone immediately, for him to then change his story to "oh, I can't do that. oh well" as soon as I asked for a confirmation email of the cancellation. He then fought with me for another 15 or so minutes about how I'm apparently a liar and so untrusting and the ASTONISHING number of negative online reviews regarding cancellation mean nothing and I need to get over it, basically. Disgusting.
I then asked to be transferred to a supervisor....that took another 10 minutes of fighting to get accomplished.
The supervisor was the most disrespectful, ignorant, condescending jerk I have EVER spoken to. I literally couldn't say more than 2 words before he'd cut me off to say I'm wrong. And then as soon as I tried to talk, he would cut me off - practically screaming in my ear - saying he's going to end the call on me because he doesn't want me talking anymore. Absolutely DISGUSTING!
And, not the biggest issue perse, but it should be noted that all of the phone agents I spoke to had a VERY STRONG Indian accent and EXTREMELY BROKEN English - to the point that following anything they said that wasn't very obviously being read from a script was extremely difficult to do
It should also be noted that I spent several hours today (while waiting on hold, etc) looking up reviews of this company. I found thousands, literally - some on review websites I had never even heard of until today. Every single one is 1 or 2 star, and all for the same things basically : terrible customer service coupled with stupid long wait times and transfers, being near impossible to cancel services, and vmedia still charging the customer's account after it's cancelled and then sending people to collections over forged/falsified bills. The ONLY place I was able to find ANY positive review of this company was directly on their website - and all of those were conveniently 5 star reviews. Definitely false advertising - at the very least - but probably very much illegal.
I wasted close to SIX hours of my day today just to cancel services that aren't even set up, don't make my mistake guys. Just don't sign up for any services with this terrible company.
But I did record the ENTIRE two hour phone call today, as well as take screenshots of the entire chat conversations from before the call and after the call (where I did receive written confirmation that the services were cancelled - because this is the ONLY way I could get it). And, I've already locked my debit card and will be going on Monday (as it's currently Saturday and the bank is closed) to get a replacement card. That way, if they try to send me to cancellations or try to steal money off my card, they won't have a fighting chance.
I urge everybody to stay FAR away from this company.
Cancel the service due to not having a…
Cancel the service due to not having a place to live (homelessness), they didn't understand what the word meant and I had to repeat myself three or four times
They kept trying to upsell me and keep me on offering me discounts of 4 months at 50% off and then 2 months free, I kept explaining that I need to cancel it because I am homeless and I will not have a place to go.
I finally was transferred to the cancellation department where we went through the above once more, what's the cancellation request was put in the following was stated
All items must be returned with all original packaging. Otherwise there is a $22.99 fee for not having the original box that it was shipped in.
Also there was a $25 restocking fee
And right at the end of the phone call they made sure that they stated. If you hang up the call all deals, discounts and offers, at this point I just hung up.
If you're going to try and offer me a couple hundred dollars to stay, don't nickel me when I have to cancel the service.
Cable internet service AVOID
My cable internet service in Winnipeg was extremely unreliable. I replaced my router, moved router and modem around the house. Nothing worked. Even a LAN cable connected directly from their modem to my laptop did not get internet. Very likely the cheap modem they sent as I was on Shaw for years with no issues. Support kept saying it was my fault and refused to replace the modem. Spent hours waiting on hold for tech support. From the conversation when I cancelled they are going to try to justify charging me extra fees for cancelling. Avoid.
Absolutely terrible customer service
Absolutely terrible customer service. I spent over 5 hours on the first day just trying to get through to someone, and then another 2 hours the next day before I finally got someone on the line. After waiting that long, I was told by technical support—after another 2 hours of troubleshooting—that my modem was faulty. They sent me a replacement, but guess what? Same exact issue.
I've now been without internet for 7 days and no real help or resolution. The whole experience has been frustrating and exhausting. I’ve been a customer for 5 years, but this was the final straw. I’m switching providers.
Not recommended at all. Save yourself the stress.
Was with them for 4 years
Was with them for 4 years, had no issues until I decided to leave. 3 months of unused service and 4 phone calls to cancel . Just spent an hour and 45 minutes trying to get them to listen to me and just do a simple cancelation of my account. Kept trying to get us to stay and upsell us. Good luck to people if your trying to leave them.
