Purple Penguins

This week at CHNC, the optional twist is "Include A Penguin".  I had this trio of penguins printed out in my Awaiting Crafting box so this was a good opportunity to showcase them:

I have used a paper from a paper pad.  The image is from Dilly Beans.  Colouring is with copic markers and Kindy Glitz.

Faux Embossing

It's time for a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs.  This week the theme is Faux Techniques.  I had just read an article in a magazine about Faux Embossing and wanted to give that a try.

This week's sponsor is Dilly Beans and I used this lovely image called Daisy Girl Framed

Black and White Birthday Wishes

I have created a few white on white cards but not many black and white ones.  I was surprised how much in the way of embellishments and papers that i do actually have that are black and/or white!  So, I really enjoyed creating this one.

On another note, I am really pleased to see the Dilly Beans challenges back again - I had missed joining in on them.  This is the second one this year - I didn't spot the first one until after it had closed!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:

Happy New Year

Another summery New Year's card.  With warmer temperatures at the moment and it really starting to feel like it is summer, I'm more inspired to create cards that reflect the season here (summer).  For me, New Year is all about cooling off from the humidity so a mermaid is an appropriate image!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
CRAFT Challenge - New (New Year)

Creative Craft Cottage - Colour Palette
http://creativecraftcottage.blogspot.co.nz/2014/12/challenge-30-colourchristmas.html

I have used a paper from Kaisercraft that had two of the colours of the colour palette at Creative Craft Cottage in it.  The paper has a sort of misted feel to it.  The image is from Dilly Beans and coloured with copic markers.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva and I have added some Liquid Pearls to the water bubbles.  I matted with some glitter cardstock from DCWV.  The flowers were white but I sprayed them with some Dylusions Spray.  The rhinestones centres were already there (I just had to be careful to wipe off the Dylusions Spray to keep them vibrant.  I have also used some lace from Sullivans and some pearls which I coloured with copic marker YG03.

Autumn Dilly Beans

I love autumn colours.  It is great to have some challenges using Autumn colours at this time of the year - when we here in New Zealand are at the tail end of winter.  I get to look at a lot of cards with these gorgeous colours on them - and an excuse to use them myself!

Open Minded Crafting Fun - Roll Out The Red
http://open-mindedcraftingfun.blogspot.co.nz/2014/09/challenge-19-roll-out-red.html

I have used a paper from one of my new purchases.  This one is from a paper pad by Sugar and Spice called "Tweetie Christmas".  They are double sided papers which does make it hard to choose which side to use!  The image that I have used is from Dilly Beans.  I ran with the red colour scheme even using R000 on the holly leaves!  However, I did add a touch of yellow on the beak using Y06.  The other reds that I have used are R59, R46, R17 and R14.  I also added some Stickles to the image.  The matting is red glitter cardstock from DCWV.  I also added some small buttons embellished with some red and white twine from American Crafts.

Hoot

I feel like this owl a bit at the moment - wide awake at night!  Maybe that is why I was drawn to this image for this card!

A Piece of Me

The theme for the challenge at Dilly Beans is to create a project based on you.   I really enjoyed putting this together including my favourite things.  I am heavily involved in swimming so I went with an aquatic theme.  I included lots of "bubbles" on my card, some waves and a mermaid.  My favourite two colours are yellow and orange and my favourite flower is the carnation.  I only had blue and pink carnations so I decided to use the pink one and add some yellow to it to give it a variegated effect (I love variegated flowers anyway so this is another element of me).

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Dilly Beans - Create a Project based on YOU
http://www.dillybeanschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2014/08/dilly-beans-new-challenge-create.html
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Spots and Dots
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/spots-dots.html
Craft Your Passion - Include some yellow
http://craftyourpassionchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2014/08/challenge-226-bring-me-sunshine-add.html

I have used a paper from Sugar and Spice Studio for the background.  The wave is a Memory Box die which I cut from yellow cardstock and then embossed with an embossing folder.  The image is from Dilly Beans and has been coloured with copic markers.  I also added some Stickles - Star Dust to the swimwear.  The pink carnation comes from The Paper Temptress.  I added some yellow to the carnation by dabbing Distress Stain - Mustard Seed onto a craft sheet and then dipping the flower into the stain.
