Cricut Cardz Challenge #110

There is a new challenge over at Cardz TV , I am so glad your my dad. The challenge is to make a Father's Day card using any colors and cartridges you like. This is what I came up with.

My card base is Kraft card stock cut and folded to make a 4" X 9" Tall Card. I was able to get the Cricut Craft Room to work which allowed me to create two rectangles, one 3 3/4" X 8 3/4" which I flooded with a dark olive green color from the Heirloom Imagine cartridge. The other rectangle was 3 1/2" X 8 1/2" which I flooded with the green striped pattern also from the Heirloom cartridge. For my man image, I used the Art Deco cartridge. This image is called Sugar Daddy on the cartridge. Again I used colors from the Heirloom color palette for the mans coat, slacks, vest and hat. I used an RGB code for the skin tone. I cut the man at 6". I inked all my papers with some Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink. I added my man to the card with some foam tape. I used some tiny copper colored pearls for the buttons on his vest. I cut a label from the Lacey Labels cartridge for my sentiment using the colors from the Heirloom cartridge and stamped my sentiment with some Memento Tuxedo Black ink. My twine is actually a light natural colored hemp cord that I colored with a copic marker to give me that dark green color. I attached my sentiment mat with some foam tape and added a larger copper pearl button to each side.

Cricut Cardz May Day Challenge

Welcome to the Cricut Cardz Challenge #108 at Cardz TV. This challenge is a May Day challenge, to make a card for any occasion using flowers from any cartridge(s) and using any colors you'd like. This is what I came up with.

My card base is a 5" x 7" white card stock. I used my corner rounder to round all the corners. I used the Lacey Labels cartridge to cut the navy mat and the white mat at 6 1/2". I ran the white mat through my Cuttlebug and embossed it with a floral embossing folder from Sizzix. My vase of flowers was cut at 6" from the Kate's ABC's. I used my Imagine and the All Wrapped Up cartridge for my colors. To finish the card I added some stickles to some of the flowers, stamped Hello in the lower right hand corner and added 3 pearls to the lower left hand corner. For the pearls, I took some white pearls and colored them with a Copic marker to get some blue ones to go with my card. I hope you will play along with us and look forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Just me thinking of you card

The Cardz TV Design Team Challenge at Cardz TV is to make a project that uses Ribbons, Rhinestones, and/or Rick Rack. Here is what I came up with.
I started with a white card base cut and folded to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I added a dark wine colored mat and then the patterned paper mat both of which are from an older Basic Grey 6" X 6" paper pad. I used the Lacey Labels cricut cartridge and cut the mat for my little bird at 3 1/2". My bird is the first bird in the handbook for the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge. I cut the little bird and it's layers at 3 1/4" I added some pink cheeks and a few doodle dots to the wings of the bird. I added a dark wine color ribbon and some mosaic tiles to the mat. Thanks for visiting.

Laughter is Life's Sweetest Thing

The challenge this week over at Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog is to use summer flowers on your project. The design team came up with some great inspiration. This is what I came up with.
I started with a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card stock card base. I added a purple mat cut to 4" X 5 1/4" and a floral patterned paper that reminded me of a summer field of wild flowers, cut to 3 3/4" X 5". I then added a 2" strip of green that I used an EK Success border punch on.  Finally I used the Lacey Labels Cricut Lite cartridge and cut the shape for my sentiment at 3". I cut the shadow out of purple and the main layer out of white and pop dotted it to my card front. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The flower is a daisy I had in my stash. I cut a couple of leaves from the Lyrical Letters cartridge. I hope you will join in the fun at Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog. I hope everyone is having a great 4th of July Holiday.

Get Well Card

Here is a get well card I made for the Cricut Cardz Challenge this week. The challenge was to make a get well card using only white, black, blue and green.

The white card base is 4 1/2" X 6". The patterned paper is 4 1/4" X 5 3/4" and is from a K & Company paper stack. The little label in the middle of the card was cut at 3" using the Lacey Labels Cricut Lite cartridge.  I used black for the shadow layer, a light pale green for the base layer and a darker olive green for the frame. I cut the flower in a light blue and added a light pale green pearl to the center. The pearls are from Oriental Trading Company.  I used a Spanish Olive colored ink to stamp my sentiment. I am not sure who the stamp set is made by. I added an green ribbon and some more of the light green pearls to the lower half of the card. I am pleased how it turned out. Thanks for visiting.
