…nects Show pending actions in the primary button's green, not error red. Drop the '?' badge: an unknown count shows no badge. A dropped count stream keeps the last counts until a fresh snapshot replaces them all, so the badge no longer flickers away offline.
…badge A stream that stays down, for example after organization access is revoked, no longer leaves old counts on screen. A short drop still keeps them steady. SidebarBadge treats '' as no badge, so it pops out too.

Summary
A pending action is your next step, not an error. The badge now uses the primary button's colors and shows only counts it knows.
The next snapshot replaces every count, so no count outlives it. A stream that stays down, for example when the Workspace list read keeps failing, clears its counts 30 s after it reports the drop. A silent stall reports after its 15 s lease, so there the limit is about 45 s.
SidebarBadgeandSidebarButtonlose theirtoneandbadgeToneprops.Evidence
Before: the stream dropped, and every badge disappeared or showed "?".
After:
use-action-count.test.tsxchecks each event against a Workspace with count1:On the old hook, the three "last counts" cases fail. Without the 30 s limit, the "down for 30 s" case fails. Each case waits until the hook has read the event, so a count that did not change cannot pass by accident.
SidebarBadge: theBadgeArrivesAndLeavesstory clears the badge with''. It fails before the fix, which skipped the exit animation, and passes after it.Sidebar Vitest: a
nullcount and anullmap both show plain "Activity" with no badge.E2E, main suite on SQLite:

Revert restores the red badge and the "?" state. No state or schema changes.
Blast Radius: sidebar
After a stream drop, a badge can show a stale count for up to 30 s. A silent stall reports the drop only when its 15 s lease ends, so there it is about 45 s. The Activity page shows the real list.
