WebP to JPG Converter

Browser-based tool for converting WebP images to JPG format. No installation, no backend, no uploads.

What It Does

Takes a WebP image as input and returns a JPG file. Conversion happens entirely in the browser. The image never leaves the device.

Features

  • File input for WebP images.
  • Convert button.
  • Download link for the resulting JPG.
  • No installation. Runs in the browser.
  • No server storage. All processing client-side.

How to Use

  1. Upload a WebP image using the file input.
  2. Click the convert button.
  3. A download link for the JPG file appears.
  4. Click the link to save the image.

Stack

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • Canvas API for image conversion

No frameworks. No backend. The entire application is client-side.

Running Locally

Open index.html in a browser. No build step required.

Notes

The conversion uses the Canvas API: the WebP image is drawn to a canvas and exported as JPG. This means the output is re-encoded, not just re-containerized. Quality settings for the JPG export can be adjusted in the conversion function if the default is not suitable.

WebP is a modern format with better compression than JPG, but not all applications support it. This tool exists for cases where WebP is the input and JPG is required.
