Machine account authentications performance #8352

Closed

Description

@hifabienne

I want to be able to perform 1000 authentications per second with machine users without a problem, so I can scale my application.

Acceptance Criteria

  • I am able to authenticate 1000 machine users per second (using JTW Profile grant)
  • I know what requirements I have for my setup, to be able to perform those request
  • The tests, latency and requirements are documented

    Can we clarify this a little bit? I'm confused by the current loadtest definition which does JWT profile grant and then a userinfo call with the resulting token. The additional request does take extra time and resources. However, by reading the definition of this line, we shouldn't do that step, right? What is your opinion @fforootd, @adlerhurst?

    I think we should keep it lean, so I would test 1000/rps just for the tokens.

    We can introduce a separate test for userinfo later on.
