Dogs.ie acting tyrannical,they suspended my account because they wanted to force me to register as a dog breeder despite of that I told them I'm selling 4 of my pups.Department of Agriculture sent me an email that I do not have to register only if I'm selling 6or more puppies per year.The woman at customer service is not able to do her job because after 30emails she just like a parrot repeating the same,wrong information.This woman provide misleading and false information, editing your ad that you created with fairy tales, then she suspended my account.I have all written evidence that they discriminated me just because I'm not Irish born and tried to push me to additional costs IE vet services .See their reply!!!Explains everything!!Talking about 6 or more dogs but why is it apply to me??4dogs I sell not 6 or 11.🙏😂Oh and no point to email them even they falsely saying "if you need help"because they do not help just trying to force you to do what is not an obligation by law.Straightforward???On the registration form the vet has to inspect your house (if you are a trader )and its cost €200!!!I'm not a trader and these people s head is in the sand.After 30!!!emails they didn't provide help or useful information.

Krisztina, if you sell or supply 6 or more dogs in a calendar you are required to register. Based on this we instructed you to register and explained the steps to do so.
Update: You did supply us 7 microchip numbers for your ad and based on that we believed you should be registering. It's simple and straightforward to do so. Please contact us if you need any more help.

Very disappointed with Dogs.ie and its handling of puppy advertisements.
In my case, Dogs.ie published an advertisement from a seller whose connection to a commercial puppy breeding operation was known, yet the advertisement gave the impression that buyers were dealing with an ordinary small or private breeder. The business name was not clearly identified in the advertisement.
I subsequently discovered that the seller operates a commercial dog breeding business with a dedicated website advertising multiple breeds of puppies for sale.
I find it extremely concerning that Dogs.ie would allow advertisements to be presented in this way when buyers are making decisions about where to spend hundreds or thousands of euro on a puppy.
Dogs.ie should be transparent about who is actually selling the puppies. Commercial breeders should be clearly identified as commercial breeders, rather than being presented in a way that could give consumers the impression they are dealing with a small family breeder.
My experience has seriously undermined my confidence in the platform. Dogs.ie needs much stronger checks and much greater transparency around commercial breeding operations.

Dogs.ie is in fact one of the few platforms that clearly distinguishes between seller types, in line with Irish law. Every seller on the site falls into one of three categories, and this is reflected on their ads:
1) Private sellers- individuals selling fewer than 6 dogs per year.
2) Registered Sellers of Pets - registered with the Department of Agriculture, selling 6 or more dogs annually with fewer than 6 breeding bitches. Their Department registration number is displayed on their ads.
3) Dog Breeding Establishments (DBEs) licensed and inspected by the Department of Agriculture. Their DBE number and their maximum permitted number of breeding bitches are included in their ads.
This means a buyer can see from the ad itself whether they are dealing with a private seller, a registered seller, or a licensed commercial breeding establishment, and can verify the registration or DBE number with the Department of Agriculture before making any decision.
If you believe a specific seller has misrepresented their category, for example, advertising as a private seller while operating commercially, that is a breach of our rules and we would genuinely want to know. Please report the ad through the site or contact us directly with the details, and we will investigate and, where warranted, remove the seller.
We do appreciate you raising this, and we'd welcome the chance to look into the specific advertisement you mention.

Hi Vincent, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Your ad for the stud Toy Cavapoo was only placed a week ago, but has been seen almost 50 times so far.
Generally it can take a bit of time to get some interest, as people have to wait for their female dogs to be in heat. I'd also encourage you to add a video of your dog too. The price for a stud service may be a little on the high side. One other point of note is that we tend to see less demand for stud dogs for cross breeds, compared with purebred dogs. We take do animal welfare very seriously and do not support illegal breeding or any activity that compromises the welfare of dogs in Ireland.
You may not know but we do offer free advertising to registered animal rescues and charities, as we believe people looking for a dog should be able to consider adoption alongside buying from a breeder.
If you have concerns about any specific advertisement or believe it may relate to an illegal operation, please report it to us through the site so our team can investigate. We also encourage reports to the Department of Agriculture, which is the appropriate authority to investigate suspected breaches of animal welfare or breeding legislation.
We review reports carefully and will work with the relevant authorities. If you have details of a particular advertisement that concerns you, please send them to us so we can look into it.
