Quilt Market in Houston

My wall at Fall Quilt Market in the RJR Fabrics booth. Heavy on the Metal, a four color collection. I am so excited about my newest line! Zippers, measuring tape, hardware, collage, alphabet, words.

The RJR display on the front side of their booth. Celebrating 40 years. Each one of the decoupaged balloons is a sku from the new lines that were launched at this market

Here’s me in my zipper dress!

The 3-d typewriter that I made with my fabrics! Sew fun!

Counting Down to Quilt Market

I finished this wall quilt yesterday as a sample of the fabrics in my new collection ‘Heavy on the Metal’ by me and RJR Fabrics. Dress-Up. The buttons were fussy cut from the Hardware fabric in black.

I am so excited about this collection because it is so unique in colors and content! I will be doing demos in the RJR booth #1034 on Saturday from 2-4pm and Sunday 1-2pm

Today, I even had time to tidy up my big mess of Quilt Market prep. I will come home after Festival to a clean studio! Woot. Then Craft Napa prep begins. Hope to see you at Market and/or Festival.

Quilt Market in Houston 2017

I have just returned home from both Quilt Market and Festival in Houston

The gathering of friends: Victoria Findlay Wolfe, Kathy York, me and Leslie Tucker Jenison

Helping Leslie Tucker Jenison set up her display in the RJR Fabrics booth to promote her new line ‘Urban Garden’

Coming together as Leslie puts the final touches on the artwork with maker tags

My wall Quilt ‘Gardening Gals’ surrounded by Deborah Boschert’s bugs are just too fun!

Succulents made with her line and surrounded with moss give the look of a vertical garden

She had a great variety of objects made with her line and not just quilts!

The booth display for RJR Fabrics made by Linda Fitch and Vanessa Stevens. The buildings are made with the new lines that were introduced at Fall Market. So clever!

The traffic was insane around our hotel with Quilt Market and baseball fans at the World Series. Captain America was there on his bike cab!

Loved this line of sewing machines by EverSewn that were being sold in the Brewer booth. The Sparrow 25 was very impressive and affordable. It would be a terrific machine for classes and for me just to have as an extra machine in my studio.

Another fab product - the Laura Star steam iron. You can put tap water in the tank and it has its own water filter. It can press four layers of fabric at a time! If I used a steam iron, I would buy this one.

At our annual eyeglass appointment in Houston. I had sent to pairs of glasses to get new lenses with my new prescription and was quite delighted to get my favorite glasses back. Glasses are my jewelry! Always such a fun part of our trip. Insight Optical on Sunset in Houston. Ask for Susan Chumchal who is a stylist. She is amazing. I have been buying my glasses here for years.

Spring Quilt Market

The Quilt Market Program has a picture of Vanessa Stevens (RJR) and me on the cover!  The middle photo from Fall Quilt Market. A great way to start off the show! This show was in St. Louis. My first trip to this city!
The amazing artwork on the front wall of the RJR booth. Flowers made with fabrics that were introduced at Spring Quilt Market. The big orange one is from my line 'hopscotch'
Leslie Tucker Jenison and I always begin our adventures with a glass of red wine and dinner. Our first night we dined at Farmhaus, and enjoyed a tasting menu

Inside the RJR Fabrics catalog!  My first line with RJR!  So happy to be here!

My booth and everything was made by me in my own style. I felt it was important for people to see my vision from my hand drawn designs and what I could create with my line. This is totally me!  I had so much fun!  84 sku's in a rainbow of colors!  They ship to stores in August!

Stacks of hopscotch fat quarter bundles in RJR's pop up store

Mistyfuse Iris created a custom package of Mistyfuse for my Charm Pack pattern. 20" by 1.5 yards. I am pleased as punch over this!

The shelves with my coloring books (available in the side bar) folding houses, decoupaged shoes and playful objects

Leslie and me in the booth. She is also an RJR Designer, and her first line was introduced at Fall Market in 2016. Her second line will debut in Fall of this year!

I had so much fun making this wall quilt. The signature quilt for my line 'hopscotch'

RJR Fabrics at Quilt Market

RJR Fabrics at Quilt Market #quiltwithlove
I was at Quilt Market to help my friend, Leslie Tucker Jenison set up her booth inside the RJR Fabrics booth, to show her debut line "Urban Artifacts."

Her booth was absolutely amazing, with great eye candy

She had many quilts that featured her fabrics in a variety of styles

Love these shelves to show off purses, pin cushions, a bear and my decoupaged globe

Just look at these great elements!  The boomerang table, sewing chair and phone stand

Some of the Cotton and Steel designers all ready for Sample Spree

Share a common thread. All RJR Designers have a window. Me too! Look for the orange dog on a green background on the gray building. I am thrilled to tell you that I have a line coming out at Spring Quilt Market with RJR Fabrics

Quilt Market Fun!

Gotta new haircut, just in time for Houston!

Here's one of my bags.  I carried on this bag and checked the other bag.  Shipped 4 boxes to Leslie Tucker Jenison, since she was driving to Houston.

Here are two quilts that I made for the Hoffman Fabrics booth using their amazing fabrics

Leslie and I in front of the facade of the RJR booth.  More pictures to come!

Seeing friends at Quilt Market is extra special.  Desiree Habicht and Rayna Gilman

Leslie in front of her quilt made with Hoffman Fabrics Me + You line - isn't it amazing?

New fabrics introduced.  I loved these screen prints!

Fiber on a Whim's booth

Artists is so creative in displaying their fabrics!

The RJR booth was amazing and they even won a booth award. Love the use of color, their heart and the many paper folded origami birds
A pattern from the Simplicity booth that I actually want to make!

More booths - love the creativity of the chalk board

Dinner with friends - always time to celebrate!
