Sunday morning coming down, reduex

My apologies for all the bad links if you saw them. I thought when I deleted a post it was gone.

Anyway. Trying again while I watch the grill. Mom, click the arrow and hopefully it works. You may need to click it twice.

About 8 this morning. Over the back 40 and over my back porch.
Don't know what the pilot was spraying. Fertilizer or farm strength agent orange.
The pilot started long before I got this video.

You all be safe and God bless.

Just another Saturday in Paradise.

Really it is. Even if the government has us sequestered at home, God is in control. :-)

Thursday we grilled steak. I did the veggies different this time. Onions, mushrooms and sweet potatoes instead of Idaho potatoes. :)

Yesterday we had crawfish. Supporting local. No picture. Didn't want to bore you. ;-)

Fig leaves are growing like crazy. No figs yet.

I took a picture of one of our blue dragonflies; but it didn't turn out so maybe next time when it's not 81 in the shade and humid.

But the beans and carrots I planted back when this lock down started about a week ago, have begun to pop up.

The beans are easy to spot. The carrots not so much. The carrots are the whispy green bits you might be able to see if you click the picture.
As you can see, it rained a good bit after I planted them originally, hence they now have a cover which will let water through; but hopefully slow and/or redirect from any onslaught, and the roof.

Seems like a few marigold seeds may have survived the winter also, but I will have to keep an eye on them. I believe there is a vine that looks like marigold when it first sprouts.

Anyway. Didn't go out for long, but that is what is happening around here.

You all be safe. Praise God and God bless. :-)

What I'm doing during the zombie apocalypse.

No wait, that's something else, isn't it?

85 headed to 90 today. Went outside for a bit. Planted some red spaghetti beans, some mini munch and sweet slice cucumbers.
And some nasturtiums. Need to get some marigolds.

Last week, I think it was, I planted some Blue Lake bush beans and some carrots. Need to plant some nasturtiums with them, too.

And I took some pictures.
Not of the planters, but stuff.

More pecan trees are blooming.

Looks like we might have a pair of hawks nesting in the pasture.

Here's what looks to be a nest in our lone pine tree.

I tried really hard to get a good pictures of the birds. Together or alone, and this is the best I could get. :-(

Hubby thinks because of the coloration, and the way the nest looks, they might be osprey, rather than red-tailed hawk; which was my first guess.

You all be safe and God bless!

Yesterday's takeout dinner

It's crawfish season. Covid-19 is conspiring to ruin what was set to be a great crawfish season.
So, we decided to support one of our local restaurants and get takeout.
I know you've all seen this before, so if you don't want to be bored, don't look. ;-)

It was as good as it looks. :-)

Be safe and God bless.

Don't know what to say

so I'll say it with pictures.

The fig tree is leafing out.

As is one of the pecan trees.

Something else is enjoying spring. UGH. I've already been bitten once this year.

Wildflower border between our property and the farmland behind us.

Bull thistle. I've recently found out that they are edible. Best when young. Cook like asparagus.

Plenty of oak tree pollen around here.

Blackberries growing.

Spring has sprung.

Praise God for all he gives.

You all be safe and try not to die of boredom. God bless!

Sunday dinner

Hi Mom. Promised you a picture or two. :-)

I made my version of spring rolls. They are nothing like real spring rolls. Usually I use spring roll wraps to make them; but this time I made the mistake of buying Lumpia wrappers.
I still made the spring rolls, just turn out different.

So when I make them I cook up some hamburger. Youngest said "ground beef". Well, yes. After that was drained, I added a can of bean sprouts and a can of sliced mushrooms.
Looks like this when you start. Almost forgot. Mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Or some mix of cheese.

There is also a mix of corn starch and water to help seal the wrap.

Here it is wrapped up, haha.

And after frying.

You can bake them also, but hubby doesn't like them that way.

So there you have it. Sunday dinner. Takes a while to get it all together; but not long to fry and eat.

You all be safe. God bless. And thank Him for what you have.

Flea Market

Today was a really nice day. So being Saturday we went to the flea market in Livingston, Louisiana. V.Watts is only on the second Saturday of a month. I was glad they didn't give in to the fear of the latest flu.

We saw some friends, got some farm fresh eggs, hubby found a nice pair of headphones for his computer and I got a scarf for my neck when I forget to put on the darn sunscreen.

Also took a few pictures.

A really nice truck.

I love Wisteria.

Only took a couple pictures of the rest of the market. Oops.

And one of the lowest Diesel price we found. It's about 40 cents a gallon more here in central Louisiana.

We usually go to a second flea market, but it closed because of the flu. Boo! The little cafe there makes some really great chicken wings.

Hope you all are having a blessed weekend, too. Be safe and God bless. ♥

Happy Birthday to middle son.

Took him for crawfish, of course. :)

And we brought home some bread pudding with chocolate caramel sauce. :)

And yes, it was all as good as it looked. :)

You all be safe out there. People are getting more crazy, if that is possible.

We will take precautions; but we are going to the flea market this weekend. Supposed to be 81 and partly cloudy. We'll see if heat and humidity kill this new flu like it does most all flues.

God bless!

Sunday Grill

This is what we had, Mom.

Boiled corn on the cob. Grilled potatoes, onions and mushrooms. And riblets, or short ribs.

Great day for grilling. Sunny, breezy, 68 degrees.

You all be safe. God bless. ♥
