Swappiminien sijoittelua - Placing some of the swap minis

Pyrin sijoittamaan kalenterista saadut minit olemassa oleviin taloihin tai pienoishuoneisiin. Toisinaan sopivan paikan löytäminen hieman kestää tai uusi mini toimii inspiraationa uudelle työlle. Muutamat nyt saadut minit ovat jo löytäneet uudet kodit.

I try my best to find new homes for all the minis I received in the advent calendar swap. Sometimes it takes a little longer to find the right place and occasionally a new miniature may act as an inspiration to a new roombox. Some of the minis I received in this year's swap have already found new homes.

Jouluaiheinen koriste sopi hyvin Joulukaupan seinälle.
The Christmas-themed decoration suited well on the wall of the Christmas Shoppe.



Kasvihuoneen edessä olevissa kottikärryissä on nyt myös puutarhavälineet.
The wheelbarrow in front of the Greenhouse carries now also the garden utensils.



Myös istutettu ruusu löytyy kasvihuoneen sisältä.
Also the rose fits well inside the Greenhouse.

Pistorasioita ja valokytkimiä - Electrical sockets and light switches

3D-tulostettuja, minikokoisia mutta eivät toimi. Ovat jo viime vuodelta mutta blogissa vasta nyt.
3D-printed for a doll's house. Note that they are just for more realistic looks; they don't work. They were printed already last year but now appearing in this blog for the first time.

Pistorasia on asennettu Aurinkoisen keittiöön. Alla lähikuva.
The socket is installed in the kitchen of my doll's house Aurinkoinen. Below you will find a closeup.

Kun jääkaappi siirtyy omalle paikalleen, pistorasia jää piiloon sen taakse.
Once the fridge is moved back to its place, the socket remans behind it.

Myös olohuoneeseen asennettiin pistorasia ja valokytkin.
A socket and a light switch were installed also in the living room.

Pistorasia sohvan vieressä.
The socket is installed next to the couch.

Valokytkin on sijoitettu sopivasti portaiden päähän kun noustaan olohuoneeseen keittiöstä.
The light switch is located conveniently at the end of the stairs when coming up from the kitchen.

Vesipiippu - Hookah pipe

Olen jo pitkään halunnut tehdä minikokoisen vesipiipun ja tässä se nyt on! Mm. Venus A. Dodgen kirjassa Dolls' House Needlecrafts on kerrottu, että ne olivat suosittuja viktoriaanisella aikakaudella. Vaikka omat minini ovat suurimmaksi osaksi moderneja niin sopiihan tuo hyvin Ahdille, vanhalle merimiehelle.

For a long time already, I wanted to put together a hookah pipe and finally I managed to make one. According to the book 'Dolls' House Needlecrafts' by Venus A. Dodge, they were popular during the Victorian era. Although most of my minis are modern, the pipe suits well Ahti, who is a former sailor.

Punainen tyyny Aurinkoisen sohvalle, kermanvärinen "menneeseen maailmaan" ja ruusukuvioinen Shabby chic -huoneeseen.
The red one on the couch at doll's house Aurinkoinen, the cream colored in the 'Gone World', and the rose patterned one into the Shabby Chic Corner.

Sanomalehtiä - Newspapers

Sanomalehdet kuuluvat kategoriaan helpot minit. Nämä ovat mainoksia, jotka olen laikannut oikeiden lehtien sivuilta. Aika harvoin niitä enää nykyään löytää ja harva kai lukee paperilehtiä mutta minimaailmassa kaikki on toisin.

These newspapers are not prints but cutouts from ads from real-life sized newspapers. Probably the easiest miniatures I ever made. Anyway, today I hardly ever find these any more as more and more people are reading online papers. Luckily anything and everything is possible in the world of miniatures where reading paper versions of newspapers continues.

Ahti laittoi silmälasit päähän ja alkoi lukea sanomalehteä aamuauringossa. Tarvitsisikohan hän uudet lasit kun kädet pitävät lehteä kovin kaukana?

Ahti put his eyeglasses on and began reading the newspaper in the morning sun. I wonder if he needs a new pair of glasses as he's keeping the paper so far away?

Olohuone toimitti myös makuuhuoneen virkaa, koska yläkerrassa asui vuokralainen lapsineen. Vuokralaisen muutettua pois koko talo on pariskunnan hallussa. Olohuone tänään.

The living room served also as a bedroom as the couple had a tenant in the top floor room. Once the tenant moved out, the couple got their bedroom back. The living room today.

15 v. harrastusta, osa 1 - 15 yrs. of miniature hobby, part 1

Innostuin nukkekodeista ja pienoishuoneista 15 vuotta sitten. Kävin Sinellissä ja hankin "intoa piukassa" Anu Pellisen Aurinkoisen. Jälkiviisaana totean, että olisin voinut aloittaa harrastuksen rakentamalla pienoishuoneen vaikka pahvilaatikkoon mutta eihän se tullut edes mieleen silloin! Nukkekoti tai ei mitään!

Miltä Aurinkoinen näytti alkuvaiheessa?
Alla koko talo 12 v. sitten.

It was 15 years ago that I started my miniature hobby and went to a local craft shop and bought a three-storey dollhouse. It was a flat pack and needed assembling. In retrospect, I could've used an old cardboard box to build a roombox to begin with but all I wanted was a real dollhouse.


What did my first dollhouse look like at the very beginning?

Lankahuovutettu matto - Yarn-felted rug

Aurinkoisen terassilla on uusi, lankahuovutettu matto, syksyn ensimmäisen kerhokerran satoa.

I placed a new yarn-felted rug on the terrace floor of my dollshouse Aurinkoinen.

Telkkari taloon - Telly in the house

Löysin putkitelkkarin Tiger-kaupasta. Se on kuin tehty Aaltojen kotiin, kunhan vain näkyisi muutakin kuin testikuvaa.

I found an old-fashioned telly in the Tiger-shop. It's perfect for the Aaltos if only they could see some other program than the test picture.

Persian sininen - Persian blue

Melkein vuosi sitten aloitettu Persian sininnen bunkamatto on vihdoin valmis. (Tämän vuoden) helmikuussa se näytti vielä tältä - ainakin kuvio tulee tuossa ilman sinistä paremmin esille.
Matto sijoittui Aaltojen olohuoneeseen - kelpaa Ainon ja Ahdin nyt kahvitella!
I started making this Persian blue bunka rug almost a year ago and now it's finished! In February (this year) it looked like this - at least the motif is clear in this without all the blue bunka around it.
I placed the rug in the Aaltos' living room - I'm sure that the coffee Aino and Ahti are having tastes better with the new rug on the floor!

Emma-tuoli - Emma chair

Kevään viimeisellä kerhokerralla tehtiin Emma-tuoli. Tämä päätyi Aurinkoisen makuuhuoneseen.

We made Emma chairs during our last club meeting this spring. The one that I made ended up in the bedroom of Dollshouse Aurinkoinen.

Mitä on tapahtunut Aaltojen taloudenhoitajalle? Missä on Selma? No seurustelee isännän kanssa olohuoneessa putsit yllä! Aino on siis vallannut keittiön ja leiponut (ja syönyt) muffineita. Ei taida vuoka olla enää kuuma, kun pystyy pitämään sitä käsissään mutta likainen astia on, huh-huh. Selmaa kaivataan...

What happened to Selma, the housekeeper? Where is she? Well, she's socializing with her employer, and she's all dressed up and everything! Aino has occupied the kitchen and baked (and also ate) some cupcakes. The pan can no longer be hot as she's holding it in her bare hands but it sure is horribly dirty. Selma is badly needed...

I got these led-battery operated dolls' house lights already a while ago for another project but they turned out to be too glossy and way too big so they ended up in my dolls' house Aurinkoinen. The living-room does look a lot cosier now, don't you think? I also got a useful tip on how to attach the lights with a magnet rather than gluing them or using stickers. This has been my only miniature accomplishment this Easter as I came down with a nasty cold and I've been mainly concentrating on blowing my nose...
Tilasin jo aikaa sitten näitä led-valaisimia rintamamiestaloa varten. Lamput olivat aivan liian kiiltäviä ja lisäksi vielä liian isoja, joten ne päätyivät Aurinkoisen olohuoneeseen. Tuli heti paljon kodikkaampaa, eikö niin? Kattolamppu on kiinnitetty magneettiin; valaisimen voi siirtää muualle ja patterin vaihto on helppoa. Tässä olikin tämän pääsiäisen mineilyt - muu aika on kulunut lähinnä niistämisen merkeissä kun ikävä kevätflunssa iski. Blogini on saanut myös uuden lukijan, Titin - tervetuloa! Toivottavasti viihdyt!

Aurinkoisen toisen kerroksen olohuone sai ikkunaan "lasikoristeen". Valmistettu 3D-printterillä, halkaisija 2,5 cm.
I hung a "glass" decoration in one of the windows of the living room on the second floor in my dollshouse Aurinkoinen. The decoration is made using a 3D-printer and the diameter of the decoration is 2.5 cm.
