Unisieppari löysi paikkansa - A place for the dream catcher

Joskus kestää pitkään ennen kuin swapista saadut tavarat löytävät paikkansa. Kalenteriswapista (!) saatu unisieppari sopii hyvin Opiskelijaboksiin.

Alunperin olen tehnyt Opiskelijaboksin vastareaktiona väitteisiin miniharrastuksen kalleudesta. Tässä pienoishuoneessa on suurimmaksi osaksi käytetty roskia tai muita "jämiä", esimerkiksi villapaidan olen neulonut irrottamalla yhden ohuen säikeen tavanomaisesta villalankakerästä, tapetti on ylijäämää 1:1 elämästä, parvisänky on tehty teepaketista yms.

Muutama kuva lisää flickr-albumissani .

Sometimes it takes a while before swap items are placed in the right rooms. The dream catcher I received in the calendar swap (!) is perfect for the Student flat.

Initially, I was inspired to put together the Student flat as a counter-reaction to all the claims of miniature hobby being expensive. The vast majority of the miniatures in this box are made from household trash or from other leftover materials. For example, I knitted the sweater from a thin strand of yarn pulled out of a 1:1 wool skein, the wallpaper is a remnant from a real-life wallpapering job, the loft bed is made from a tea packet, and so on.

A few more photos can be viewed in my flickr-album.

Opiskelija-asunto - Student flat

Student flat
Originally uploaded by Millimari

I made this student flat already years ago. I was inspired by the frequent comments of having an expensive hobby, i.e. miniatures, and I wanted to prove these claims wrong.
The student flat is made almost entirely from leftover materials and trash - the only two things that were bought were the two bottles and the pizza on the table. If you are interested in knowing what I've used to create this roombox, click on photo and then read the text below it.
