S is for Spider ~ A to Z on Mondays, Backwards

Sorry about posting another spider again, but here are some more.
These green spiders hide on the underside of my Zinnias and attack the other insects that land on the flowers. It must have a very poisonous bite because they even kill big bumblebees and eat them. You really need to click on the pictures to see that this spider has a beautiful design!

I have seen other people refer to these as green Lynx Spiders.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This looks like what we always called a 'Granddaddy Long-Legs" spider when we were kids.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

The skipper is not paying much attention to the spider eating the bee.
Guess he feels safe since the spider is busy.

Hope these didn't creep you out!! Visit Jen's blog, unglazed, to join or see who else is having fun with this meme as we travel backward from Z to A on Mondays..

Sunday Spider

I know that some of you don't like spiders, but this green one looked so cute sitting on this red Mississippi Summer Coleus, that I just had to make his picture!! Guess What! I posted it on Wunder Photos and it received the Approvers Choice Award! I was surprised and shocked, because the last time I checked it only had a few votes and a 8.6 rating! Wonders never cease!

Have a blessed day of rest!

Skywatch Friday

~~~~~
This is one of many Crape Myrtles around our local hospital.
~~~ ~~

A heavy rain cloud approaches as Old Glory waves in the wind.

I made this as we waited for a traffic light to change.
~~~~
I made this picture today at the cemetery near here. I liked the way the Cross and Flag looked against the sky. To me, it represents God and Country. God Bless America!
Saturday night at the Opry
Welcome to Longview Opry! I think they liked Jeep pretty well because they invited him to come back and be a regular there!
Every Saturday night there is a free country music show at the Longview Opry, about 35 miles from here. This was Jeep's first time to perform here, although he has a long history of playing and singing, dating back to high school.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nobody had more fun than this kid! He danced by himself, with his grandmother and with some of the others ladies that were there. It's good to be able to enjoy a place where the young, as well as the older people, can have good, clean fun.
~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is my sweetie, Jeep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jeep is cutting up and having a really good time!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This kid had a really great time, too!! He may be the next Elvis!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jeep is giving the keyboard player a break. The man on the right is an excellent fiddle player.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This picture shows the lady who is the main Bass Guitar player, the lady who was filling in for the headliner, and her grandson.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here is Jeep, singing his heart out! I can't remember all the songs he sang, but two of them, Chuck Berry's Memphis and Promised Land, really got the place rocking. He also sang Don't Overlook Salvation, Just Because, Burning Bridges, and Bob Wills' San Antonio Rose.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This very versatile man plays many different instruments and also does programs of Elvis Presley songs in full costume for local groups.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is a cute pair of shoes to dance in, but oh my, how they would hurt my feet!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are a few small areas where you can dance.
"Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance.
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance. I hope you dance" ... Lyrics by Lee Ann Womack
T is for Tiger Swallowtail ~ A to Z on Mondays ~Backwards
Here are a few pictures I've made in our yard of the yellow variety of the Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly. Below is an adult male.
The Tiger Swallowtail butterfly (Papilio glaucas) is a strong flier with distinctive yellow and black striped markings on its wings and body (some females are brown or black, mimicking the poisonous pipevine swallowtail).
This relatively common butterfly has a wingspan of 3.5-6.5 inches (9-16.5 cm). Southern subspecies are larger than the northern ones.
These butterflies are called swallowtails because they have long "tails" on their hindwings which look a bit like the long, pointed tails of swallows.
Below is an adult female Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly. Isn't she lovely with her blue markings?
Now, flutter on over and visit Jen at Unglazed and check out her sidebar to see who else is traveling backwards from Z to A on Mondays. Join in the fun!
Here are a few pictures I made out the car window while traveling yesterday. A dark cloud was approaching when I made this first one. We were in several rain showers as we came home.
My World Tuesday
Click HERE or on the icon on my sidebar to see other worlds.
This hungry butterfly stopped just long enough for me to snap a picture. Click on it to see the design that looks like two daisies on its head.
.
.
These pictures are just a lone Merigold amongst some Coleus. I like the contrast of the colors.
You really need to click on these pictures to see the details. These spiders lie in wait for their prey to land on the flowers, quickly render them helpless and eat them later.
