Always Something Going On

The first pictures show asphalt being installed on our driveway.  The next pictures (today) show someone playing in the dirt.  No, Jeep refers to this as digging a 'moat' around the back of the house :)  Our house is on the side of a slight hill and over the years, the water has washed dirt down against it until the dirt is up even with the slab foundation.  This could cause problems in the future, so we are getting some dirt work done to drain the water away from the house.   It will be a mess for a while but hopefully, it will solve the problem.  Jeep is watching to see that the job is well done :)

InSPIREd

This is a picture of McAdams United Methodist Church, in McAdams, MS.  This is one of the three small churches on the McAdams Charge where my husband is Pastor.

We are so blessed that these people have accepted and welcomed us like family.
Join Sally at InSPIREd for more INSPIRATION.

Going to see the 'Tomato Man'

Yesterday we went to see the 'Tomato Man', better known as Jeep's son, Doug.

This sign greeted us and ....

these roses were growing all around the sign.

Guess he is a trusting soul to have a 'Serve Yourself' sign and jar of money on the table!

He had some small plants they were just putting in the ground.

And some big ones that were over 6 feet tall!

Here is the "Tomato Man' in person!

These are beautiful!  He has been harvesting ripe tomatoes for about a month.

This old timey purple running rose was in full bloom.

Jeep caught this shot as I was picking my tomatoes right off the vines.

Roese were growing everywhere!

A fitting sign to see as you are leaving!

Roses

These gorgeous roses were grown by a member of one of the churches Jeep serves. Besides the big basket of pink roses placed on the Altar, the fellowship hall was decorated with big bouquets of roses in all the windows. The tables were decorated with bouquets of miniature roses in every color. Thanks to two precious people (he grows them and she arranges them) for sharing your roses!!!

Update:  Just noticed that this picture won the Approver's Choice award on Weather Underground's Wunder Photos.  Yay!

Mother's Day, etc.

On Mother's Day, we gave the Mothers a red rose at the small churches where Jeep preaches.

The Clematis is finally learning how to climb.  The little pink flowers are Oxalis.

I found a few blooms on the Wisteria that grows in the woods behind the house.

A baby Bluebird peeking out of his home in the chapel, looks like he is about ready to fly away.

Love this color of Iris!  They have about finished blooming for this season.

This is an Orchid dish garden I received for Mother's Day.

I'm wondering if I should put the Bromeliad in a different pot.  Any suggestions?  I don't know about the ornamental grass either?

This Kalancheo was another gift.  Hope I can keep these alive.

Close up of the Orchid blooms.

The Sunday school class at one of the churches gave me this gorgeous red Geranium in a hanging basket.
Hope your Mother's Day was great!
