Aerosan OSGA 6

More stuff for Whiteout, this time 2 Aerosans from Baker Company.
In Whiteout you can have Sno-Cats as equipment or find them as terrain-encounters. My take on the game is more pre-WWII Pulp, so I was after something else. These Aerosans looked just right.
The Aerosans were used during WWII by the Soviets, and captured ones by the Finns and Germans.
The kit, especially the metal parts, are not the best, and I changed the tin-rods for plastic ones to get a more stable and rugged model. The rig for the motor isn’t very like the real part, but this being pulp I just didn’t bother to convert it more than I did.
We’re in the Arctic, and I already got some Winter War Russians painted, so my baddies in Whiteout will be Russians. I painted the aerosans to work here as well as in WWII-winter conditions.

Finally I 3D-printed a hatch for when I need an unarmed vehicle. It’s hatch + plug so I can just drop it in place when needed.
They were this week’s painting challenge.

Crashed aircraft for Whiteout

I’m building and painting terrain, vehicles and figures for Whiteout, which is a solo/co-op game that I think looks really interesting. Also, in these times, anything solo has a certain appeal.
Here´s the first finished terrain-piece, a Beechcraft G17S Staggerwing in 1/48 scale from AMT.
Built straight from the box, buried in a piece of foam insulation covered in sealant and painted with Vallejo Ground Texture Snow.
Now I’m letting the 3D-printer produce some suitable things for the game. More on that later.
Here it is on my Whiteout gaming-mat from Deep Cut Studio. (6x4' Winter with 1' grids and 2 point line thickness (I think)a greyish grid colour with 50% transparency for discrete grid-lines)
You can buy Whiteout and lots of stuff for it from Sally 4th.

Monsters and heroes from Cthulhu: Death may die

The first one is a nun from Shadows of Brimstone. The usual crappy resin and I had to replace the barrels from the shotgun as they were bent and full of bubbles. I painted it just becuase I had these other two on the painting table.
The other two are Luke and Sister Beth from Cthulhu: DmD game. Beth comes from the base box, while Luke is a kickstarter exclusive.
These are ghouls and deep ones from the base box. Real quick paint-jobs on these, to get painted figs on the board (and less figs in the plastic-mountain).
We're playing along with the Cthulhu: Death May Die game, going through the scenarios and playing each a couple of times with different Elder Ones and different characters. Great fun! It's such a good game.

More painted figures

A bunch more figures finished the last month or so.
Muslim and Ottoman Civilians from Perry Miniatures
Istanbul Constabulary from Pulp Figures
A monster from Reaper, two Hybrid Deep Ones from RAFM and three Servants of the Deep from Cthulhu: Death May Die
A horse from Wizkids, two Wild West hobos from Black Scorpion and two 3D-printed seals from EC3D.
Gnolls from North Star
Now I'm finishing and painting a lot of all that 3D-printed stuff. More on that soon.

Painters block seem to have been truly gone

The painting low I had this autumn seem to be gone (for good?), as I have cranked out a lot of minis the last month.
First these gangers for use in our club campaign of Street Wars. They are the Black Cobras gang from the same manufacturer, and has seen two battles so far.
First game. The Black Cobras take on the Mollies, while trying to mug some pesky civilians.
A Mollie lookout

The uncultured and rather racist Devil Outcasts join the fun. For the Black Cobras this turned into a two-front war, which you usually don't win.
The cops stop eating donoughts and make an appearance. A Mollie is arrested, to the general merriment of two players.
The first was, ahem, a learning game for the gang (see above), but the second fight showed which gang of the four in that fight was the mightiest (the last roll of the last turn saw the Black Cobras go from a last place to the first. Truly heroic wasting of a knocked out enemy leader…)
Next we have some savages. The first two are Forest tribe women from Heroes of the Dark Age. Fantastic resin-figures but rather small at around 25 mm.
Then we have two taller heroes from Shadows of Brimstone, made of a horrible resin. In the background a portal from the same game, and a 3D-printed Kraken Idol from EC3D.
Last but not least is this rather diverse bunch. A serving woman from Wizkids, then a 3D-printed penguin from EC3D, a centaur (the best on the market in my opinion) from Heresy Miniatures, a 3D-printed zombie (I don’t remember the make, but I’m not too happy with it. Will have a higher resolution next time) and finally two giant rats from Reaper.
That’s it for now. Got a dozen or so Arabs nearly finished and lots more in the queue, both figures and buildings.

Painted minis

From Mythic Battles: Pantheon we have Infernal Hounds (painted last year) and Warriors, Heracles, Minotaur and Cerberus.
It’s been a bit quiet here the last couple of months, mainly because I was on a real painting low. Anyway, this x-mas I sat down with minis, paints and brushes and remembered how fun it was to paint.
Morrigan and Bob from Zombicide: Black Plague and a pack-horse (painted last year), make unknown.
So here we have what has been painted so far this year, and a couple of stragglers from the autumn.
Finally some Hastur Disciples from the excellent game Cthulhu: Death May Die

Cultists

You can never have too many cultist, right?
I do need more cultists in our games of 7TV, and thought I could make some suitable ones with a sprue of Frostgrave-cultist combined with arms and weapons from a sprue US infantry from Warlord I got for free with a magazine. I also used some spare German arms and weapons I got from a friend (Thanks, Laffe!), also Warlord I think.
Very easy conversions, really, and with them I got some really useful cultist ready for some serious fighting.
The taller figure comes from Shadows of Brimstone, one of a gang of twelve. The other 11, identical to this one, are still unmade. Don’t know if I will ever finish the lot, but the one can always be used in a pulp game or two.

Rise of Moloch – Bobbies, flaming zombies and a damsel in distress

Been rather active with my Rise of Moloch miniatures.
These were rather easy to finish, and as they are horde-monsters and horde-allies I didn’t spend that much time on them. Not very happy about the flames, but they will do.
The damsel in distress is just that, and will need to be rescued in the first scenario.
Now I only need to finish the remaining heroes to have everything painted for the first scenario. They are prepped and ready for paint. I'm really looking forward to start playing.

De Havilland DH4a – Pulp Edition

I got myself a 1/48 scale De Havilland DH4a (Passenger) from Roden a while ago. The idea was to use it in my pulp games, as a prop or maybe something to fight for. It was half-finished for quite a while until I got it on the painting table and put it all together.
It’s a nice kit, but a bit fiddly, especially when it’s time to assemble the wings… Getting the top one in place was a bit of a pain. It didn't help that I dropped it when it was nearly done.
I painted it up totally imaginary and put on some random slides from the stash.
Pretty good result and it will look good on the gaming table, I’m sure
As a great little extra there were lots of spare parts, including quite a few bombs and machine guns. These will definitely find use as contraband. Great stuff.

A varied bunch of pulp minis

Here’s the latest from the painting table, a bunch of pulp minis that took a bit longer than expected to finish.
The figures come from:
Warlord, and their Operation Sealion Enemy Agents pack. It’s a nice additional nun that will be useful, as they are, and the other two will find a place in a game of Pulp Alley, I’m sure.
Artizan Designs and the final figure from their Merchant Sailors pack
RAFM – a gigantic doctor from their Cthulhu range. The size of that head compared to the others... Their RAFM figures are all over the place size-wise, which is really annoying.

Finally two pics of 3D-printed stuff waiting for paint. More on what has happened on the 3D-printing front soon.
