Dust - Jagdluther and Sniper Grenadier Team

I was so inspired by the Medium Panzerwalker I finished a couple of weeks ago, so another walker and a couple of Dust-soldiers hit the painting table. They are really enjoyable to paint.
The walker is a Heavy Panzerwalker IV Jagdluther, armed with twin 75 mm guns and a MG 44. Painted in the same way as all my German walkers  and weathered with washes.
The soldiers are a Sniper Grenadier Team consisting of a spotter/leader and a sniper.

As usual these miniatures are really easy to finish as they are undercoated a dark grey, but they do need some trimming as there are faint mould-lines here and there.
Welcome new follower Pete . I can't find a blog of yours. If you have one then link to it in the comments below, please.

Dust - Medium Panzer Walker III-A/D Wotan/Flamm-Luther

Another model that just stood half-finished on the painting table for far too long. It’s a medium German walker from Dust, and this one can be made into two different models, the laser-equipped III-A Wotan or a flamer-equipped III-D Flamm-Luther.
The Wotan can be equipped with side-shields, to make it even tougher to knock out.

Decals from Dust and Warlord.
This one had a problem that I found before I started painting, as the air-intake grille on one side of the main body was missing. I had to make one myself.
A mould material I bought from Alphaspel. You heat it in hot water and it becomes soft.
Take the hot lump and press it to whatever you want a duplicate of and you've got a mould when the plastic has cooled down. Here I make a duplicate of the grille on the other side of the main body.
I made two moulds and filled them with green stuff
A descent grille. It's not perfect, but good enough.
Trimmed and glued in place.
Anyway it is nearly invisible behind the weapons. I bet you didn't notice it on the pics of the finished model.

Dust – Übertoten Suicide Squad

In the Dust universe of WWII the Germans are sort of the good guys. Adolf Hitler is dead, Germany is de-nazified and has tried to sue for peace and unite humanity against an alien threat. But… to do the latter they are willing to do almost anything and that’s why we see zombies in their lines.
What is there to complain about, really? It's a rather well thought out recycling effort.
These are the Heilige Tod – Blutkreuz Korps Übertoten Suicide Squad. Former soldiers that really don’t like their new-found ‘life’ and wants to end it in a bang. They are armed with Panzerfausts and magnetic mines, combine that with damage resilience, the tank killer feat and that they ignore suppression and you’ve got a fearsome unit.

They are painted like the rest of my Axis troops except for the skin, obviously.

Dust – Heavy Recon Grenadiers

Another Axis unit finished, this time we have the Heavy Recon Grenadiers, some really hard-hitting and well armoured troops.

Painted as all my Axis troops and ready and eager to take on any SSU or Allied squad out there.

Dust – Laser Grenadiers

In the 1947 of the Dust alternate WWII the Axis have laser weapons and these troops, the Laser Grenadiers have the most portable versions.
Axis Laser Grenadier armed with the Laser-Werfer.
The five man squad is armed with four Laser-Gewehr and one Laser-Werfer. Half-decent weapons against both men and armour.

Grenadier armed with Laser-Gewehr.
These guys are painted like all my Axis troops.

Welcome Michael Awdry with The Analogue Hobbies Paining Challenge and 28mm VictorianWarfare. The former with lots if pics from said challenge and the latter full of historical minis, zombies, pulp and you name it. Check them out!

Dust – Battle Grenadiers

I’ve really gotten started on my Dust figures again. They are so much fun to paint and I’ve collected… well, sort of a lot of sets. I let is stand as that J. I really want to get them all painted and ready for action.
Anyway, my first priority is to paint my Germans and I’ve found an easy paint-scheme for my Axis troops that I use for all soldiers. The priority is to get them ready for the gaming table so the 'easy' part is important.
These guys are the Battle Grenadiers and a squad is five men as usual for normal troops. This pack sports an extra man as the Battle Grenadiers can come equipped with an extra Panzerschreck instead of an ordinary soldier as an option. A nice touch to get it included in the pack.
Another unit ready for action. Several units half painted on the painting table. It starts to look good.

First game in a long time will be at the club sometime soon. If it works out well for the good side (aka my side) you might see a battle report here...

Dust – Light Panzer Walker I-C ‘Hans’

The Dust kickstarter debacle put me off my Dust-models for a while, but now I’m in Dust Warfare-mode and have started painting again. These figs are such a joy to paint and that means you will see more Dust the rest of the year.
This is the German light scout walker ‘Hans’ armed with Granatenwerfer and Panzerfaust-werfer making it decent against both infantry and AFV:s.
Painted with Vallejo 995 German Grey and high-lighted with a drybrush of 992 Neutral Grey. Decals from Warlord and their Bolt Action range.
I read my friend Laffe’s blogpost on his Pz IV and how he simulated chipped paint. So, for the for the first time ever I ripped off a bit of packaging foam, dipped it in Citadel Chainmail and started dapping the edges.
Not too bad a result if I may so, but it all looked a bit shiny so I gave the whole model a wash of Army Painter Strong Tone ink. Now it looks properly worn.

I might use some black pigments for the rocket exhaust tubes but the model is ready to face the evil SSU or Allies as he stands now.

Dust – Kommandotrupp

As I was painting  my Axis troops and reading Dust Warfare rules I noticed one thing lacking in my big box of unpainted Dust minis - a command troop for my Axis. I already have the heavy command troop but an ordinary (cheaper) command troop was lacking.
I found a box at my trusted FLGS Alphaspel and here they are, painted in my usual German Dust scheme.

Ready to battle the evil SSU or the equally evil Allies.
Here’s the TKS next to a soldier for size comparison.
