1990 hal morris

the yankees traded hal morris to the reds in december of 1989 for tim leary and van snider. here's his 1990 o-pee-chee card:

morris played in 107 games and hit .340 for the reds in 1990, which was good enough to finish 3rd in the nl rookie-of-the-year voting even though he didn't qualify for the batting title. the next year, he would finish 2nd in the batting race with a .318 average to terry pendleton's .319.

back to 1990 - in the postseason that year, morris helped the reds get past the pirates in the nlcs by hitting .417 with an ops of 1.000. and, despite his 1 for 14 performance in the world series, he earned a ring as the reds swept the a's.
