Sweet and Sassy {Tag You're It} and Colour Q {Just 4 You}

It's official! I am on my two week holiday and I am SO excited to have some down time to stamp, colour and create!  I purchased a digi from Sweet and Sassy Stamps a couple of months ago but with family stuff and life in general, I had not the time to play with the digital stamp!  I peeked over at Arielle's colours for this week and was excited as an idea began to form in my slightly exhausted, over shopped brain...Christmas is wonderful but can be pretty overwhelming!  I have been wrapping all week and needed some tags...well I made one and I am pretty sure it will go on my sister's gift. She loves snowpeople!

So I saw the challenge at Sweet and Sassy was to make a tag and the colours at the Colour Q were so much fun and a REAL stretch for me! I coloured the image with my copics and then fussy cut her out.  She is popped up on dimensionals. I thought her little scarf was so cute and would look good in the two green hues.

Today's challenge is:
“Tag! You’re It!”
Make any type or theme of a tag/tags.

Freshly Made Sketches {Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year}

This week at Freshly Made Sketches, we have a great sketch from the lovely Rita Wright!  I was so excited to cut into some new pattern paper I picked up at my local crafting store!  It is from Jillibean Soup, I believe that is what it is called!  Both the red side of the paper and the yellow side come from the same sheet of paper.  I thought the paper had a primitive country feel to it and decided to make a poinsettia in Kraft paper from my Poinsettia nestabilities.
I also added a black matte around the entire main panel and the smaller panel to accent the red and yellow colours.  The sentiment comes from a stamp set that I got last year from Stampin' Up but is now retired called "Seasonal Sentiments". The ribbon is black satin and the twine is called True Hemp made by Hemptique.  It has a really pretty chocolate sheen to it. I couldn't resist adding a button too!

We hope that you will join Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

Ribbon Carousel Anything Goes #27- {Peace On Earth}

This week at the Ribbon Carousel, they have an Anything Goes Challenge...of course, you need to use some ribbon or anything that comes from a spool on your project!  So I went to work, creating a christmas card for my stash, I wanted to create something red and green, more traditional, with some ribbon and a button accent.

This Week's Challenge

I inked up one of my most favourite sets from Stampin' Up called "Peaceful Season", it was a hostess set from last year.  I inked it in Early Espresso and then I coloured the holly leaf and berries with my SU markers.  I used some brown 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon. This is a clean and simple card. It is hard to see but I embossed the bottom of the card with a christmas embossing folder.

I hope you get the chance to play along with the Ribbon Carousel...

Friday Mashup #30, Scrapbooker's Paradise #39 {Celebrate Special Moments}

This week at the Friday Mashup, Heidi is challenging us to use up thoses scraps and to use her awesome sketch!  I had fun with her sketch and used the "Seaside Lighthouse" stamp set from Essential Stamps again.  I made another card with this set too...please click HERE to see it.

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project using the "Sketch".
  2. Or Make a project using "Recycled / Repurposed Materials or Supplies".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project "Using The Sketch and Recycled /Repurposed Materials or Supplies".
My recycled items were the scraps from the first card I made, some cut twine that I had in my cut ribbon stash bag and a brad I had deep in my stash that I never use! This card is also for the challenge over at Scrapbooker's Paradise, which is to create a Masculine Card.

My hubby and I love to get away to the Westcoast and hear the waves crashing. We even spent our honeymoon at this location. This will be a card I give him for our next trip out there in January. We also do this big walk around the local lighthouse. It is a gorgeous walk!

We hope that you will join the Friday Mashup Challenge this week!  And be sure to join the ladies at Scrapbooker's Paradise.  Please be sure to visit the other DT Members to see their wonderful creations!

Cardabilities #41 {Vintage Note}

I have been in a crafting mood lately, and I have been trying to find new challenge blogs to play!  Well, I found a new one...new to me that is!  What a great sketch this week.  The challenge is called Cardabilities and here is their sketch!

Tonight I wanted to create something vintage and warm. I used some new Bo Bunny paper and I got out my Copics to colour the floral image from Stampendous. The butterflies are from my embosslit die called "Beautiful Wings" from Stampin' Up and I added some pearls to the butterflies.  I don't know why I used black but it seemed to bring out the richness of the paper. I hope you think so too!  I sponged all the edges with some Crumb Cake Ink.
