Thank You...Final CR84FN 45

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, January 19, 2013 @ 8:50 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! After a lot of careful thought and consideration, I've decided to bring the CR84FN Color Challenge to an end. I don't have a dramatic story to share, I simply would like to free up some of my crafting time and pursue other creative opportunities. I've been so blessed to be amongst such a great group of designers over the past 2+ years. I can't thank the DT enough for the sweet friendship, continual support and encouragement each and every week. I would also like to thank all of  the players and you my blog readers who supported the challenge whether you joined along or not :) xoxo

So you have until Wednesday to join along with CR84FN70 focusing on the pretty color combination shown below. Photos courtesy of kategrewal.com.
I made a clean and simple Thank You card featuring a beautiful blossom made using Die-namics Plentiful Petals which I layered on a die cut chevron background made using Die-namics Chevron Stripes. The sentiment is from Die-namics Let's Toast Die & Stamp Set and was stamped using MFT Kraft ink.
Thank you for visiting! For some beautiful inspiration from several members of the CR84FN DT, please see the CR84FN blog.

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, January 12, 2013 @ 9:55 PM | , , , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! It's time for an all new CR84FN Color Challenge. First I would to thank Lisa Snowdy, our January Guest Designer, for sharing her creativity with us and thanks to all the crafters who joined along with us for CR8FN69!

***NOTE*** We will be going on Spring Break after CR84FN70 and returning on MARCH 24th with CR84FN71***

For nearly the next two weeks, we will be playing with the pretty color combination shown below. Photos courtesy of kategrewal.com.
For my sample, I made this rather clean and simple layout featuring photos of Meredith when she was about 3 years old (12 years ago). I stamped one of the beautiful sentiments from MFT Clearly Sentimental about Audrey Hepburn on a die cut strip made using a Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers STAX die. The textured patterned background was made use texture paste along with The Crafter's Workshop 6" x 6" Mini Chevron template. Once the paste was dry, I sprayed with yellow mist.
Shown below is a die cut butterfly made using Die-namics Inspired By Butterflies die that I added a bit of color and a rolled rose made using a die from Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with Skissedilla sketch challenge:
Thank you for looking! For some beautiful inspiration from Lisa and several members from the CR84FN DT, please see the CR84FN blog.

I Love Us...CR84FN69 Week 2 55

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, January 5, 2013 @ 10:00 PM | , , , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great weekend! The weather has been beautiful here, sunny blue skies and temps above 60 degree. Perfect for hiking and biking which Tina and I  did yesterday :) I'm back with another project I created for week 2 of CR84FN69 using the pretty color combo shown below:
I made this layout featuring a sweet photo of Jerry and April that was taken on this past Mother's Day. I've been so sad, dreading the next few weeks because Jerry has accepted a job in San Francisco and is moving this coming Saturday :( I am really happy for him and know he is only a short distance away BUT those weekly lunch dates will be few and far between. He will be back to visit on his 25th birthday which is February 8th :)
I stamped one of the sweet sentiments from MFT LLD Document It - Off the Chart on a die cut strip made using Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon then layered on top of two die cut pieces made using Die-namics Layered Label Die. I framed the photo using a white washed Blue Fern Studios Leaf Frame.
I applied a combination of Distress ink and Rock Candy to three sprigs of foliage that are included with the Blue Fern Studios Leaf Frame then made various blossoms using the following Die-namics: Die-namics Winter Rose, Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses and Die-namics Royal Rose.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with Stuck On U Sketches:
Shown below are the Die-namics that I used on my layout today included in the MFT January release. You can read all about it here:

In this layout, I used the Blue Fern Studios Leaf Frame.
Thanks so much for visiting! Please be sure to stop by the CR84FN blog to see additional beautiful samples from several of the DT members. Hope you join along!

Dream...CR84FN69 40

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, December 29, 2012 @ 9:55 PM | , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great weekend! After a holiday break, we're back creating with color at the CR84FN Color Challenge! Please help me welcome the talented Lisa Snowdy of Adventures in Paperland, who will be joining along as our Guest Designer for the month of January! For nearly the next two weeks, we will be playing with the pretty color combination shown below:
Yep, I am one proud Mom and I'm still celebrating my son Jerry's college graduation. :) I made a layout of Jerry and April that was taken after the ceremony. I stamped a sentiment from MFT Inspired by Knowledge on a die cut made using Die-namics Framed Greetings die.
I made several flowers using the following Die-namics: Die-namics Layered Rose, Die-namics Large Royal Rose and Die-namics Plentiful Petals along with some flourishes made using Die-namics Fancy Flourish and Die-namics Medium Fancy Flourish.
Using Die-namics Butterflies and some corrugated cardboard, I made a pretty little layered butterfly embellishment:
I also made a card using the left over patterned paper. The sentiment is from MFT Finishing Flourishes.
I die cut a Kraft cs heart using Die-namics Hearts a Plenty then added texture using an embossing folder. I finished the card with a trio of die cut flower embellishments made using the following Die-namics: Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses, Die-namics Mini Royal Roses along with flourish made using Die-namics Leafy Flourish
For the layout sketch inspiration, I joined along with another freaking scrappy challenge:
Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to stop by the CR84FN blog to see the awesome samples that Lisa and the CR84FN DT has created! Hope you join along in the fun!

Thanks...CR84FN67 Week 2 40

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, November 17, 2012 @ 9:55 PM | , , ,

Hi there dear blogging friends! I'm here today to share a card that I have created for the CR84FN67 Color Challenge. Thanks to all who have joined along so far ~ so many pretty projects! You still have time to get crafty and create a project using the pretty colors shown below:
Last week, my CR84FN projects contained a lot more plum and this week, I've focused on gold. I combined pretty patterned paper from Webster's Pages with various Die-namics and MFT stamps.

To create this card, I used the dress form die from Die-namics Sew Nifty die set to cut a piece of corrugated cardboard. I applied Tim Holtz Rock Candy then once dry, I applied Ranger Tea Dye ink. The die cut corrugated cardboard wings were made using the wings from Die-namics Homespun Birdhouse & Set.
I finished it off with a glittery kissed rose that was made using a die from Die-namics Mini Royal Roses along with a sentiment tag that was made using a die from LJD Howdy Frames die set and stamped with the Thanks sentiment from Die-namics Homespun Birdhouse & Set.
To complete the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Complimentary Greetings on a Whip Cream die cut label that was made using Die-namics Textile Rectangle Frame.
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the current Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge:

Love Lives Here...CR84FN66 Week 2 44

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, November 3, 2012 @ 8:55 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great weekend! Tina and I have been taking advantage of the beautiful fall weather here in the desert and riding our bicycles like there is no tomorrow :) It's week 2 of the CR84FN66 Color Challenge, thanks to all who have joined along so far, lots of beautiful projects to look at! You have until Wednesday to join along and create using the pretty colors shown below:
Before our Saturday morning bike ride, I baked a few loaves of pumpkin ginger bread ~ 1 for Tina and 1 for Scott & I. I fancied Tina's loaf up with a tag made using Die-namics Homespun Birdhouse & Set and also made a coordinating card. She has been traveling out of town for work nearly every week, returning Friday evenings so I wanted to make her something welcoming her home with a Homespun vibe :)
To make the card, I stamped the Love Lives Here sentiment from Die-namics Homespun Birdhouse & Set on sentiment strip made using Die-namics Sentiment Strips. I die cut a corrugated cardboard birdhouse as well as a Grungeboard heart. The beautiful doily peeking out from behind was made using Die-namics Dizzy Doily DUO die. I finished it off with a pretty Whip Cream felt rolled rose that was die cut using Die-namics MINI Rolled Roses along with a few Natural cardstock leaves made using Die-namics Royal Leaves.
Since it is a coordinating set, The tag is basically the same except rather than being an A2 size greeting card it is a gift tag made using a Die-namics Traditional Tags STAX die.
For those of you who asked me about my pumpkin bread, I admittedly do not bake it from scratch. My thought is "why reinvent the wheel?" when Krusteaz already has perfected the recipe?! :) All I do, is follow the directions on the box then add 1/4 C chopped pecans and 1/2 C crystalized ginger then enjoy :)
Thanks so much for visiting! For additional inspiration, please be sure to visit the CR84FN blog to see what the other design team members have created. Have a great day / evening!
