Cukup Tidur

Since dari awal pregnancy dulu mmg subscribes newsletter dari www.babycenter.com. Semua information sangat2 berguna for the 1st time parents like us. Saya yakin most of all mmg ada subscribe x pon mmg selalu refer bebycenter for information kan.

Kali ni nk share pasal tidur si kecik. Cukup tidur ke dia?? Or terlebih sudah tidur??

Jom check Qaseh...

Daytime Sleep

From 8am to 5pm normally dia akan tidur 2x jer. Sekali nap antara sejam ke 2 jam.

So total dalam +/- 4 hours.

Nightime Sleep

Qaseh akan tidur normally dlm kol 8pm & get up at 6.30am the next morning.

So, total = +/-10hours.

Now we check using the info from www.babycenter.com

AgeNighttime SleepDaytime Sleep *Total Sleep
1 month8 1/27 (3)15 1/2
3 months105 (3)15
6 months113 1/4 (2)14 1/4

Sleep with or without pillow??

Saya jenis yg tido mesti pakai bantal. Kalo bantal x comfortable sure x lena saya tido. Tapi ni bukan citer pasal saya OK...Ni citer pasal Qaseh.

Perihal tidur Qaseh dari lahir MIL bagi tidur dengan bantal. So saya yg kurang pengalaman ni mengikut je la. Even mana nap time dalam buaian pon bagi bantal. Sbb nk elak kepala terkena lantai if something bad happens. (For safety purposes we put the tilam kekabu bwh buaian).

Tapi since Qaseh dh pandai mengiring dan menerap dulu. Saya x bagi dia tidur dgn pillow. Because at last the pillow will end up under her body not her head. Karang x pasal sakit badan plak..Dah le gaya tidurnya agak lasak.

MIL ade pernah tanya kat saya "Qaseh tidur x pakai bantal ke?" So I gave the same answer as above. Then I start wondering. Whether there will be any effect if Qaseh sleep without pillow? Is it bad or good??.

So today I googled it. Found this from babycenter.com

When can my child sleep with a pillow?

Should my toddler use a pillow, and if so, when?

Expert Answers

Judith Owens, pediatric sleep expert

Though they're often sold with crib bedding sets, pillows are not recommended for children under 2. Kids that small can easily suffocate while using one.

Actually, older kids don't need pillows either. Parents often think a pillow will provide their child with extra comfort, not realizing that their child was doing fine without it.

If you want to introduce a pillow, it's best to wait until your toddler moves from a crib to a bed. But if you want to give him one while he's still sleeping in a crib, go with one that's small (the size of an airline pillow) and firm. Stay away from feather pillows, which are too soft, can set off allergies, and can smother a child if his head sinks into it while he's sleeping.

And this one from www.babblesoft.com

When should you give your baby a pillow to sleep?

There is no rule about needing to give your baby a pillow to sleep on. Yes, it’s more comfortable for us, adults, to sleep on a pillow. After all, it is one of our sleep associations. And, because we are bigger, a proper pillow supports our neck in such a way that our bodies can fully relax at night. Buy the wrong pillow and you can wake up with a cramped neck.

But, children are smaller and the wrong pillow when they are too young can be a bad idea. Not only can it increase the SIDS risk as I mentioned above, but baby can roll off if it doesn’t have side support. If baby is old enough to move around and the pillow is too large, the pillow might move on top of baby, making it dangerous for him. In addition, if your baby is pulling up, he can use the pillow as a launchpad out of the crib. No one wants that! He might be climbing out soon enough on his own. No need to give him props.

Therefore, I recommend avoiding a pillow for your baby until she is well into being a toddler over 2 years old. And, if she is content not to use a pillow at all, don’t even worry about it. My eldest son didn’t care to sleep on a pillow until he was close to 2 1/2 and then we gave him a very flat pillow.

So, from the two sources it is best not to sleep with a pillow until she's 2 years old. Lega le xde bad effect sbb x bagi Qaseh sleep with pillow.
