Novembre (Italian for November) was born in 1990 in Rome (as Catacomb), thanks to brothers Giuseppe & Carmelo Orlando, who moved from Sicily. Over the course of years, a noticeable stylistic shift had gradually occurred in the band's sound, evolving from death metal to a more personal doom/death resonance. This transformation solidified in 1993 when Catacomb morphed into Novembre. In 1994 & 1996, Novembre issued two full-length albums on the Italian Polyphemus label with Dan Swanö as producer, then the band signed a bigger contract with Century Media Records & embarked upon a tour in support of Portugal's Moonspell.
The Blue is the seventh studio album by the Italian progressive doom/gothic metal band Novembre.
