Papa Roach "She Loves Me Not (Single & Video)"

"She Loves Me Not" is the first single from rock band Papa Roach's third studio album, Lovehatetragedy, and fourth released single in total. Originally written as part of a five-track promo and demo CD funded by Warner Bros. Records in 1999, "She Loves Me Not" was re-recorded and improved for its new release in 2002. It was left off their first album, Infest (2000), because the band thought the song was too rock-oriented. The song appeared in the soundtrack for the game NHL 2003. The song is one of the few songs from Lovehatetragedy featuring Jacoby Shaddix rapping, a style that the band had less focus on the album.

The video for "She Loves Me Not" shows the band playing in a dilapidated theme park which people are using as a social gathering. The content is mostly performance based with cuts to people in the park who are vandalizing it, fighting, etc. It was directed by David Meyers.

At three points in the video, a person appears out of nowhere in front of the camera for a single frame, similar to methods used in subliminal messaging.

Papa Roach "Between Angels And Insects (Single & Video)"

"Between Angels and Insects" is the third single from rock band Papa Roach's second studio album, Infest. The song charted on multiple music charts, most notably hitting the top 20 of the UK all-format charts.

The music video was directed by Joseph Kahn and it features the band playing in a concrete basement/garage. The camera does special effects, such as morphing from angle to angle rapidly, showing the band moshing in slow-motion and even passing through the band's body, revealing their insides, effects that are reminiscent of the film version of Fight Club. Cockroaches appear on several occasions, even coming out of Jacoby Shaddix's mouth when he screams. The song's lyrics feature numerous references to the novel Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. A couple of lines in the song, "...working jobs that you hate for that shit you don't need...", "...the things you own, own you now...", are taken directly from a speech by Tyler Durden in the film adaptation of the book.

Papa Roach "Lovehatetragedy"

Lovehatetragedy is the third album by the American rock band Papa Roach. It was released on June 18, 2002.

A re-recorded version of the song "M-80 (Explosive Energy Movement)" was featured in the game Amplitude. The song "She Loves Me Not" was featured in the game NHL 2003. The songs "She Loves Me Not" and "Walking Thru Barbed Wire" were recorded in 1999, with the former appearing on the band's 1999 demo and the latter on the ...Let 'Em Know! EP. Despite peaking at higher positions on most charts worldwide, the album failed to catch the success of the band's previous album Infest.

In comparison to their prior album, Infest, the band aimed to incorporate less rapping, and more singing in Lovehatetragedy. Lovehatetragedy is Papa Roach's last album under DreamWorks Records, before signing to Geffen in 2003. Alongside with Infest, a debut vinyl edition of the album was released on September 8, 2017.

Papa Roach "Infest"

Infest is the second studio album and major-label debut by the American rock band Papa Roach. It was released on April 25, 2000 through DreamWorks Records, and became the 20th highest-selling album of 2000 in the United States. The sound of the album is nu metal and rap metal. Many of the album songs contains rapping and hip hop influences. It was certified 3× Platinum in the U.S. on July 18, 2001, and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. This album earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Infest has sold more than seven million copies worldwide with three million in U.S. and is their best-selling album to date.

Papa Roach was formed in 1993, as a funk metal and rap rock band. In February 1997, Papa Roach released their first album, Old Friends from Young Years, though the album failed to get the band a record deal. Papa Roach release new demos in 1998, and a demo in 1999 featuring the songs, "Last Resort", "Broken Home", "She Loves Me Not" (the only song which would not end up in this album, instead being re-recorded for Lovehatetragedy), "Infest", and "Dead Cell". Papa Roach toured in 1999; the band had an underground fan base in California. Due to the underground success of the 1999 demo heard by in house producers Tim & Bob, Papa Roach were signed to DreamWorks Records.

Papa Roach went to the studio in late of 1999 to record Infest. Though many songs including "Last Resort", "Broken Home", "Revenge", and "Dead Cell" had already recorded, the band re-recorded them and made some changes to the lyrics. "Broken Home" deals with Jacoby Shaddix's broken relationship with his father. Papa Roach decided what songs would appear on the album, though the band only wrote three of the songs: "Obsession", which would later renamed "Between Angels and Insects", "Blood Brothers", and "Never Enough". Papa Roach got Adam Goldstein to DJ for some tracks, including "Snakes". The closing track "Thrown Away" contains a softer, reggae-inspired version of the song "Tightrope", which starts at about 4:57. Papa Roach completed recording the album by early 2000.
