Be happy for Percy.
Yes, one of my regular customers adopted him today.
He will have a Forever Home out in the country, where he can watch lots of birdies from the windows, and he will have an older brother.
The older brother used to have a littermate (who went to the Rainbow Bridge last year) and has been lonely for another sibling.
Little love lump Percy will be just perfect to fill that role!
Don't be sad ~ I knew from the start that it was my mission to find the little dude a Forever Home, and that's why I gave him the last name Fostorius.

Not The Mama

I think Percy has grown in just the past few days.  He's almost bigger now than Little Isis, who just had her first birthday.  Percy has yet to meet a treat or cat food he doesn't like, and those Whisker Lickins that someone got for her birthday but now won't touch have gone into the new little hoover.
He loves to be held, but doesn't get upset if you have to put him down, he just wants company.  Last night was his first night in the apartment, and Chloe was NOT amused.  But the biggest growls and hisses and howls of disapproval came, ironically, from Little Isis.  I had to keep reminding her that she was in this same exact situation, just on the other side of the growls, not that long ago, but she was not listening --- too busy growling and raising hackles!
Percy found lots of hidden-under-furniture toys in the apartment, and wore himself out, then came to be held so he could get a recharge-nap.  When I went to bed, I debated on taking him back downstairs to the store to be with Jazper, but I let him stay upstairs.  Spooker was not pleased, but he jumped right up onto the bed without any encouragement and curled up on my back.  Such a little love lump.

So here I am, in a totally grumpy mood, when fate brings a little love lump into my life.
One of the florists from the flower shop around the corner comes into the store and says, "Look what I have for you!"
Their front door was open today so their shop cat, Boo Kitty, can sit on the sidewalk in front of their store when he wants.  And in walks a little tiger tabby kitten.
Boo Kitty freaked out.
So, of course, they brought him to me.
He is well fed, certainly NOT starving.  No visible fleas or ear mites.  Obviously well taken care-of.
How did he end up walking into a store by himself?  I don't know.
All I know is now he is PURRING on my shoulder, a little love lump.
When I set him down for a minute so I could go potty, he cried and cried until I picked him back up.
Bessie is on her way to pick me up, to take me to us to the vet.  I can't allow him around anyone til I get him FEV tested.
But OH what a cutie patootie!
It's been just a little over a year since Ubee went to the Rainbow Bridge, and now fate brings me this little dude.  Will get a picture later, the camera isn't with me at work today.  Will keep you informed on developments.

Update 3:30pm  Just back from the vet's.  Little Sir Percival Fostorius (we'll call him Percy because he purrs so much!) is one healthy bugger. The vet said that he was surprised there were no wormies, but that's a good thing, and no fleas or ear mites either.  And negative for FIV and leukemia.
He's about 4 months old, and a charmer - hence the charming name of Sir Percival.  He purred the whole time at the vet's except for when his blood was drawn, and was amazingly well-behaved in the carrier.
He's now sitting on the back of my chair, purring away.
I just read about sweet Felix going to the bridge today.   In honor of Felix, we're going to make that Percy's middle name.  Welcome to the Cat Blogosphere, Sir Percival Felix Fostorius.
