NEW from Webster's Pages: Dream in Color!

Good morning! I hope the new month is off to a great start for you :) I'm checking in today with a couple of projects using the brand NEW "Dream in Color" collection from Webster's Pages! This one just couldn't get any more brighter or happier. What I love so much about Webster's is how their collections always reach my heart. From the images to the phrases to the colors.

"You're My Favorite Work of Art"
I love that realistic imagery like the flower field of this "A Great Pair" paper is mixed in to this collection. It created the perfect backdrop for my always silly little girl :). I toned it down just a bit with some gesso before starting on my layers behind the photo.

The "Tag & Prompt Stickers" are always just what I need for my titles. I've never been good at constructing long titles, so to have one compacted in a pretty little way like this one here is right up my alley.
The mini banner was cut from the "Dream in Color" paper and paper punched.

The "Storyteller Card Sheets" are great for cutting apart and adding to your layering. I also like to cut apart the paper straws like I did here.

Other Products Used:
Blue Fern Studios: chipboard doily
Prima: Flowers, Crystals

Next up, I've got a tag featuring the "Dream in Color" Collection as well!

"Make Today Pretty"
I may have mentioned previously that I'm really in love with purple at the moment- which is weird, because just a couple years back I remember chatting on a scrappy forum about our "nemesis colors"- and for me they were purple and orange. But nevertheless, I really love purple right now. So the "Field of Bliss" paper in this collection was the very first thing I grabbed when setting about making this tag. I love the gorgeous purple flowers with the golden hues against them- simply gorgeous.

I always endeavor to create the perfect bow treatment for my tags to suit the overall look of it. Here I've used some vintage lace along with some gold trim and purple jute twine. The owl charm is an old favorite from Webster's that I've been holding on to for quite some time :).

Again, the Tag & Prompt Stickers came to my rescue for the sentiment on this tag. And this one just so happened to perfectly match this paper ;).
For the backdrop, I used a stunning chipboard piece from Blue Fern Studios. It was first primed with gesso before adding some embossing ink and then embossing powder from Shimmerz. Finally, some favorite new crystals from Prima.

Thank-you for taking a look at my projects today! If you haven't yet, be sure to check out this entire new collection- as well as the other new releases- from Webster's Pages

Take care!

NEW Prima Winter CHA 2015: Bella Rouge Collection {Layout}

Good morning everyone!

As most scrappers know, Winter CHA is just around the corner. Which means all of our favorite companies are showing us their latest must-have collections and goodies! Prima, as always, has a fabulous lineup of products for us. They've been previewing over the last few weeks, and today I'd like to share with you a layout that I created featuring the new "Bella Rouge" Collection.

"Natural Beauty"
Not only is this collection absolutely classy and beautiful, but it's incredibly versatile too. And I am in love with the rich, warm color palette! On this layout, I started by toning down the background just a bit with some gesso. I then watered down some gesso a bit and used a paintbrush along with some very high tech flinging motions {insert sarcasm here} to create the random splatters. There are some new Color Bloom sprays released this time around as well, one for each collection. I've used {2} of them here: Empres Gold and Deep Teal.

Each collection offers a range of new flowers too- including these roses. I LOVE roses- they are always my favorites of the Prima flowers- and you get such a great selection of them here. I've dressed these ones up a bit with some of the new Prima Art Ingredients: micro beads, seed beads, and glitter.

I may have mentioned in the past how much I love that the new wood icons are printed. This mirror piece here was great for adding my own touches to :) Behind the lovely lady you see one of Jamie Dougherty's new Bloom Collection stencils- isn't it awesome?! And some "Empress Gold" Color Bloom spray.

More new flowers and leaves, as well as one of the new collection brads. Perfect for that extra special little touch!

The Many Shades of Ombre Dreams

Good morning!

I'm here today to share with you three different projects I created this month using the gorgeous Ombre Dreams collection from Blue Fern Studios! I just can't get over how beautiful these papers are, and what a delight to put them to work! There's such a beautiful array of colors available in this range that I decided to spotlight a different palette in each of my projects...

"My Boy"
I LOVE the watercolor-y washed out seashore shades in the "Ginger's Dream" paper, which I chose to use as my background for this photo of my middle child at the beach. And layered in pieces behind my photo are some more blues from the "Susan's Dream" paper.

I chose to feature the Roman Clock Set- Small on my layout as well. This set can be split up into three different clocks (along with hands); I chose the largest of the clocks, cut it in half, dabbed it with white chalk ink, and used them to really set the design of my page.

Blue Fern Studios Products Used:
Ombre Dreams: Ginger's Dream
Ombre Dreams: Susan's Dream
Roman Clock Set- Small

Other Products Used:
Prima Marketing: Flowers, Ribbon, Resin Bird & Clock, Bling, "Memorandum" ATC Card
Webster's Pages: Paper Straws

"Thoughts" Card
Next up, I went with two more fabulous papers that are predominantly purple, while offering hints of many other colors including green, blue, pink, turquoise, and more: Joyce's Dream and Dream Cards. It was very difficult not to use some mixed media on the background of this card, but I really wanted to show off the lovely delicate patterns :)

The butterfly piece you see here is from the "Tattered Butterfly" set, which features 4 butterflies in various sizes. I just love the intricate detail in this butterfly design. I decided to go with a random smattering of embossing enamel which was set with a heat gun. Embossing enamel offers a great mix of color and texture which catch the light beautifully! For even more sparkle, I added a pretty crystal to the center.

Since I had my Roman Clock pieces out, I went with one of the smaller pieces in the set here. First I painted it with a lilac shade of acrylic paint and, while still wet, dusted it with a sparkly white embossing powder to give it a pretty frosted look.

Blue Fern Studios Products Used:
Ombre Dreams: Joyce's Dream
Ombre Dreams: Dream Cards
Roman Clock Set- Small
Tattered Butterflies

Other Products Used:
Prima Marketing: Flowers, Doily Die, Metal Clock Embellishment

"Discover" Card
Finally, we have some orange/peach/pinks to feature! The Shannon's Dream paper is full of tropical citrus colors and dreamy floral patterns.

The Wild Flourish Bundle chipboard piece was just what I needed to set the foundation for my cluster on this card. It was covered with a pale yellow chalk ink, embossed with clear embossing powder, and accented with some bling.

Ombre Dreams: Shannon's Dream
Wild Flourish Bundle

Prima Marketing: Flower Focus & Free Spirit

Good morning :)

I thought I would share with you today a layout that I created a little while back for Prima Marketing for Winter CHA 2014. This one ended up being one of my favorites; I was able to combine the Free Spirit Collection {one of my faves of the new releases} as well as a bunch of the new flowers from this release- and we all know how much I love my flowers!

"You're My Sunshine"
I felt that the fun, retro imagery worked really nicely with this adorable photo of my daughter. She truly is my sweet sunshine :)

Lots of layers have been added beneath my photos; transparencies, a wood ATC, pages from the new ATC pads, and printed chipboard. I love to give plenty of dimension to boost my photo above and over my flower clusters.

The metallic silver worked really nicely with these papers and against the bright pops of color. And the crochet icons- aren't they adorable?! Definitely must-haves!!

I layered in a bit of the new crocheted trim beneath my flower cluster, topping it off with some beads and bling. I've applied acrylic paint to my background (seen in blue) and then masked on top of it with modeling paste before giving it some dimension with white embossing powder.

Prima Marketing: All that glitters....

Good morning! It's hard to believe that we're getting close to halfway through the month already...yikes! The holidays are coming, a new year, and for all of us scrapbookers, we know that January means NEW STUFF!! Winter CHA is right around the corner, and I couldn't be more excited! I know some really awesome people are going...sadly, I will not be :(. But I'm happy for those who get the chance to go and meet one another- a very special opportunity :)

This time of the year also means backstage CHA creating going on...it's about to get BUSY. So before I get too lost in the middle of it- let me share with you a layout that I created for Prima, focusing on glitter and sequins- both things I love very much :)!

"Oct 27"
I'm LOVING glitter right now- mess and all! And gold went perfectly with my color scheme here- a real treat to create this fun layout! I masked with gel medium and then sprinkled glitter on top to make it stick- it worked great :).

These beautiful Blue Fern Studios frames were dressed up with both gold glitter and gold microbeads. Glossy Accents are perfect for this :) I also used some floral wire cut from the Mini Sachet roses from Prima to create my photo frame.

Accordion Album Tutorial for PaperHaus!

Hello :). I hope you've all had a great weekend! We were busy all day Saturday with Gunner's 3rd birthday party and I'm pretty tired- but it was lots of fun, pretty stress-free, but always leaving me a tiny bit sad that the day is over and that my little guy is growing up. Okay, so more than a "tiny bit sad"...it's a feeling I stuff away so it doesn't affect the day- but after the kids are in bed and I'm alone with my thoughts, the realization of how quickly the past three years has gone simply terrifies me.

But before I get any heavier here, let's move on to a project that I created for another amazing 3-year old; Gunner's cousin Lilah who was born exactly 4 weeks before him :). I made an accordion album for the PaperHaus magazine blog, and I've got some step-by-steps on how you can put one together too!

So let's begin :)

"Lilah Accordion Album"

I had a long piece of cardboard that I'd been hanging on to for just this sort of project.

**The dimensions of my album are: 21.5" long and 4.75" tall**

Here are some detailed closeups too!

Product List:

Patterned Papers: Prima Marketing "Divine" Collection
Flowers: Prima Marketing
Mask: Heidi Swapp
Mists: Tattered Angels
Embellishments: Basic Grey, Pink Paislee, Prima Marketing

So happy you came over for a look today!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend (if it isn't already over) and take good care of yourselves :)
See you soon,

July Prima BAP (my FIRST Prima post~!!)

To say this is my "first" Prima post is almost laughable- because if you know my work, then you know that most of my posts are Prima, ha! But today is my very first "official" Prima post as I've created a sample for you for the July BAP!

I've enjoyed the BAP challenges for so long now, and if you haven't done them yet- you need to. The sketches are always inspiring and you have not only a chance to be a winner on the Prima blog, but also one of the features there! So how about you play along this month? You can link up your project HERE (yes, LINK- no more emailing! So easy!).

Here is what I've created for a little inspiration today:

Webster's Pages: Recap: Modern Romance

Good morning, my scrappy friends!

I've just gotten back from a week-long stay at the in-laws' and wanted to thank everyone for their support over my exciting recent announcement :). It was not easy to be gone and away from internet during that time, but it was fun to come back and read all the amazing comments- thank you!!

With Summer CHA coming up, we know you're just itching for those sneaks and reveals of NEW products- but today at Webster's Pages we're doing a little recap of the Winter 2013 collections, and so I've created yet another project using the incredible Modern Romance range. I cannot count how many times I've had the privilege of creating with this collection- and I still have yet to tire of it! I love the classic beauty in every Webster's Pages line, and this one is certainly no different :)!

"A Beautiful Day"
This is a photo of my little girly pants and myself on Mother's Day :). She's such a sweet dolly- what joy she has brought to our lives!

I really put my craft knife to work on this one! I just love the large circles on the "Carving Our Name" paper from the Modern Romance collection:

I've used elements from the Modern Romance 6x6 Collection Pad in addition to the 12x12 papers to create some of the smaller accents, such as this little cameo.

I love how nicely the cameos layer with the frames! This Mother/Child cameo just touches my heart :)

Products Used:

Papers
Embellishments
Modern Romance Sentiment Stickers
Perfect Accents Resin Frames

Trims

Thank-you, thank-you for coming on by today! It's so good to be back- I'm excited to have a few "normal" weeks before heading off to Summer CHA!! Yes, have I yet mentioned that?? Well, I am! My sister Kelly and I are both taking off for a week to attend CHA for the very first time- what an adventure :)...

See ya back here tomorrow ;)

Take care,
