The April PPP from Prima!

Good morning! This post is coming to you via autopost as we are finally getting a new roof put on our house- and since we have satellite internet transmitted through a satellite on our roof- that means our satellite will be out of commission for a few days! But it's good- gives me a chance to really disconnect for a few days. But I shall return :)

Over the next few days I will have some posts for you that I've prearranged, just as this one is. Today I have my sample for the April PPP challenge from Prima! It's a beauty- so I hope you have a chance to play along :)

"Enjoy Life"

This month's PPP:

This color palette goes perfectly with the "Princess" collection, which I definitely put to use!

Plenty of Princess Collection flowers were used here, and layer upon layer was added beneath and arround my photos. I LOVE the crochet icons and trims that came with the Winter 2014 release, and who doesn't love the gorgeous array of colors in this collection??

Trims, flowers, pearls, embelllishments...it's all here. With such a great palette and suggested products- who can stop with just one?? ;)

February PPP from Prima!

Hi everyone :)

Sorry for being so absent this month. My whole family has been sick for weeks and it's been a struggle to keep up. But I thought I would check in today with my February PPP sample for Prima. I hope you get a chance to join us this month!

"Be Happy"
I've used the Princess and Something Blue collections for this layout, which were perfectly dictated by this month's color palette:

Here's a closer look at some of the details and stunning new Prima products used on this layout:

I've used a couple of different masks in the background here: the Flourish mask as well as the new Floral Rose mask.

I've had a bunch of painted Natural Bark Hearts laying around for quite some time, and this project seemed like a good place to use one of them. I simply flipped the hearts over to their smooth side, painted with gesso, and then painted again with acrylic paint. Before the paint dried, I sprinkled on some clear sparkly embossing powder.

Take care :)

Prima: Free Spirit Collection {CHA Winter 2014}

Good morning!

I hope your new month is off to a good start. I'm happy to start my month here on my blog with a layout that I created for Prima for CHA, using the amazing "Free Spirit" Collection :)

"Daydreams"
I fell in love with Free Spirit the moment I laid eyes on it. The pretty pastels are right up my alley- and I could not wait to put it to good use! It was perfect for this whimsical photo of my daughter on her birthday :) The "Enlightened" paper with the images of the balloons was just what I needed to get this moment scrapped, and the coordinating stamps and embellishments made for a fun day of play!

Blue Fern Studios: January Projects Part II

I'm back again today with the second part of my Blue Fern Studios monthly project shares.

First up, another layout using the NEW Blue Fern Garden Paper Collection:

"Live Your Story"
I've taken the opportunity to show the masculine side of this collection with this layout. There are plenty of blues, greens, and browns in these papers which I've put to use here :)

I've added stamping and watercolors to bring the "Beaded Strings" piece to life.

Adding a darker pigment to the outside of the circles while dabbing away the middles helps add some dimension.

Secondly, I have a sweet and simple card to share:

"Dream"
I've used one of the sweet little "Petite Windows" pieces to give view to the pretty fairy beyond.

I first dabbed the edges of the window with a pale blue chalk ink and then used Glossy Accents and some white glittery embossing powder to create a frosted look over the rest of the window.

I'm so glad you stopped in today :)

And in case you haven't yet, I invite you to join us for our monthly sketch challenge. There are still a few days remaining and we'd LOVE to have you join us :)

Take care!

February Magnifique Mixed Media Kit~!

Good morning!

I'm so excited that I can finally share with you my first project using the {SOLD OUT} February Magnifique Mixed Media Kit from C'est Magnifique! It's such a joy putting these together each month, and just as much so creating with them.

Today I have a special canvas to share with you; a reminder to myself to cultivate the fruits of the spirit. For me, visual reminders are a must and creating something about which I feel passionate makes for a great project. I really loved putting this together :)

"Fruits of the Spirit" Canvas
This kit had so many fun things to choose from, and the color palette is simply awesome :)

I used book pages to create the distressed, torn layers like you see on the bottom of the canvas here. I highlighted them with the Magenta Shimmerz and Pink Azalea Twinkling H20's.

The fussy cut flowers were trimmed from one of the Prima Paintables cards.

My title was cut from one of the Prima Chalkboard cards, with details cut from the We R Memory Keepers cards and the backdrop from one of the Manor House Creations papers included in the main kit. Underneath you can see just a hint of the Pink Azalea Twinkling H2O's. I've added jute twine and gold thread from my stash.

Fussy cut butterfly courtesy the Prima Paintables.

I've used the KaiserCraft clear stamp along with some distress ink and stamped it randomly throughout my canvas.

Finally, the Splash of Color Modeling Cream and ColorBox stencil worked together to add some beautiful detail. The Ranger "Scattered Straw" Distress Paint was easy to dab on for additional color.

Here's another look at the complete February Magnifique Mixed Media Kit:

Blue Fern Studios: A First Look @ "Blue Fern Garden" in Action!

Good morning!

I'm extra excited today because I get to share with you my very first project using the NEW
"Blue Fern Garden" Paper Collection from Blue Fern Studios!

You will absolutely LOVE these papers :). They are incredibly detailed with crystal clear images printed on a nice heavyweight paper. I was impressed...and I'm confident that you will be too :)

{Psst...if you want to get your hands on these papers NOW, head on over to the C'est Magnifique store. They are in stock and ready to ship, along with all of their new chipboard designs, including those you see here!}

"Magical"
Today I'm sharing with you a girly girl layout to really show off the truly feminine side of this collection. Lots of pinks with just a hint of blue, paired with a few of my most favorite of the new chipboard designs...

This piece is one of the "Jeweled Page Baubles". I've dressed it up with glitter and various colors of microbeads.

The "Jeweled Trinkets" like this one are just as beautiful :)

I tore a section of the "Number Grid- Small" to create a textured photo mat. I used a sandy colored chalk ink and just a hint of mist/embossing powder to give it a little bit of color.

"Oh, Brother": NEW Prima CHA Winter 2014: Everyday Vintage

GOOD MORNING :)!

It's been a while, I know. And it's not for lack of things to share- I have some projects backed up that I haven't had the opportunity to get on here. But I have been suffering with strep throat for well over a week and it's been pretty debilitating.

Good news is- I'm on the mend :) So I'm back today with another Prima share, this time featuring the NEW Everyday Vintage Paintables :)

"Oh, Brother"
I've used the Paintables cards to add layers beneath my photo, some of them I've fussy cut the pretty intricate designs out of, and others I've torn and layered along the top left and bottom right of my layout.

I've added in some other new CHA goodies here as well: the paper and chipboard pieces are Stationer's Desk, and the canvas/burlap and gold rimmed flowers are new releases :)

I'm a sucker for anything black and white, so these paintables are right up my alley! I'm always looking for ways to add layers and interest to my projects, and these come in great sizes and patterns!

I'm here today with a look at another NEW collection from Prima:

Bloom Collection

Designed by the talented Jamie Dougherty, this collection is bound to inspire your inner artist!

"Inspire & Create" Bloom Book Cover
The Bloom Book is filled with page after page for inspiring and creating your artwork. And of course there are an array of flowers and embellishments to go with it- in a bright, beautiful color scheme you are sure to love!

Here I've used some of the paper from inside the book to create the title for my book cover, along with various background textures and some help from chipboard shapes, flowers, leaves, and more :)

The fabulous bloom girls in this collection are amazing! I loved this confident artsy girl- she just had to take center stage on my cover :). She's way cooler than me- but she gave me the confidence I needed to make my plan come together for this design. :)

*NEW* Prima Winter CHA 2014: Something Blue!

It seems we wait SO long for it...and here it is.
Winter CHA has arrived and with it TONS of amazing NEW stuff! I don't think there's a scrapbooker out there who doesn't LOVE new stuff, and so we anxiously await CHA to restock us with inspiring product.

Today I'm going to share with you one of the new collections from Prima Marketing:

Something Blue

"June 20"
This collection is incredibly versatile- it's not just for weddings. But it gave me a good excuse to scrap a wedding photo, which I don't do very often. So I went with it :).

I've used lots of new flowers on this one, most from the Something Blue Collection, as well as some stand-alone flowers. As mentioned before, I'm in love with gold at the moment- so all of the pretty gold accents in many of these new flowers is quite appealing to me :)
{also notice the awesome new gold trim under my photo? love it!}

As always, there's new printed chipboard from Prima for each collection, and I think they have their best ones yet!
I'm also loving the ATC cards. I am obsessed with layers, and they are just so quick and easy for building up my photo mat.

7 Dots Studio: October Projects!

I'm back again today :)
(did you miss me? ha!)

I have a couple of 7 Dots Studio projects to share. And they were a challenge (to myself)- no flowers! Uh-oh...
don't worry.
I'm okay with them. Let's see what you think!
"Truth"
I really enjoyed this particular verse and it inspired me to create in my art journal (which I've set aside for a bit lately). It felt good to start and complete a project with no intended direction- I just went with it. And I'm happy. It's real...
genuine...
faith inspired.
I can't ask for anything more!

Next, a card...and a simple one!
"Something Special"
I started this card with the "You are my whole world." card from the Messy Head collection, and built it from there. I love mixing colors and textures and just seeing where it all takes me. I never really know where I'll end up- and though this card is a bit "tame" for me, I loved it simplicity. Perfect for expressing the message I wanted to convey.
