Prima Marketing: All that glitters....

Good morning! It's hard to believe that we're getting close to halfway through the month already...yikes! The holidays are coming, a new year, and for all of us scrapbookers, we know that January means NEW STUFF!! Winter CHA is right around the corner, and I couldn't be more excited! I know some really awesome people are going...sadly, I will not be :(. But I'm happy for those who get the chance to go and meet one another- a very special opportunity :)

This time of the year also means backstage CHA creating going on...it's about to get BUSY. So before I get too lost in the middle of it- let me share with you a layout that I created for Prima, focusing on glitter and sequins- both things I love very much :)!

"Oct 27"
I'm LOVING glitter right now- mess and all! And gold went perfectly with my color scheme here- a real treat to create this fun layout! I masked with gel medium and then sprinkled glitter on top to make it stick- it worked great :).

These beautiful Blue Fern Studios frames were dressed up with both gold glitter and gold microbeads. Glossy Accents are perfect for this :) I also used some floral wire cut from the Mini Sachet roses from Prima to create my photo frame.

"Smile Big" {PaperHaus} Tutorial

Hello there, friends :)!

I'm back again today with a new project, this time for PaperHaus. I decided to create a tutorial on layering...everything.
Literally.

Check it out :)

"Smile Big"
Ahh...my adorable little guy...suffering through endless picture taking by mommy :). Poor thing- all he wanted to do was ride his bike- but who could resist the evening lighting? Not me! He was patient...but smiling he was not! Ha!

Here's my tutorial:

I hope you enjoyed this little step-by-step :)
I often hear people say that they just don't know "how" to layer...so I tried to break it down as easily as I could. Thanks so much for checking it out.

See ya soon~!
Take care,

"Easter Bunny"~ April Prima BAP

Good morning! I'm checking in today to share with you a layout I created using the April BAP sketch from Prima :). With moving into our new home and dealing with one snowstorm after another, I really haven't had a lot of time for "personal" scrapping. So it was nice to just let loose and get this layout completed :)

"Easter Bunny"
My sweet little Easter bunny :) She makes scrapping SO easy! I used a sheet of Nature Garden paper (one of my favorite collections ever) for my background. I love the color palette that it set up for the entire layout- just so perfect for this soft photo of my little "Girly Pants" (as she is known in our house) :).

The April BAP sketch that inspired this project:

And of course I've always got some closeups for those who might be interested:

Ahh...Ingvild Bolme's resins are timeless. I love them. I've used her new Pastel Brown chalk ink pad to color this birdhouse before adding the little birdie to it.

Such a pretty combination of pastels here from flowers new and old. This Purity vine is one of my all-time faves from Prima. And the metal lamp again from Ingvild happily found its home here :)

I used an old earring to bring focus to my masking and mess of beads. I was actually shuffling through a drawer looking for something completely different and happened upon a bag of tarnished jewelry. Gotta love discoveries like that!

Thank-you for coming by my blog today. I hope you've been enjoying your week so far! Take care of yourself and see you very soon ;)

One Collection, 3 Different Ways {Blue Fern Studios}

Hi! I cannot believe it's been a week since I've posted! I'm so busy, I cannot seem to keep my head straight. I will be able to share some news (non-scrap related) with you soon hopefully, but for now I have to keep it to myself as I really want things to work out!

But anyways, we have a LONG post to get through today- I have THREE Blue Fern Studios projects to share~! And for each of them, I've used the gorgeous new Prima Lyric collection- but created three different looks :)- this is definitely not the last you will see me use this range- it's amazing!!

So let's get started~!!

"Lilah"
This project was created on an 8"x10" canvas. I love this beautifully soft photo of my niece Lilah, so I wanted to create a romantic piece with lots of stamping and bursts of color. Let's take a closer look at the Blue Fern Studios chipboard used here:

I've used pink crackle paint on the Princess Window piece before smattering with microbeads. Then I topped it off with a piece cut from the Symphony Border, misted it, and stamped to correlate with my bakcground.

I LOVE keys. I've painted this one from the Vintage Keys set with gesso, applied a very light pink mist to it, and then stamped over top. Then I brushed on some Stickles, added the heart gem and some tulle at the top.

This Vintage Locks piece was also lightly misted and then stamped.

Blue Fern Studios Products Used:

Princess Window 074578

Vintage Locks 074783

Vintage Keys 075032

"Our Bond"
My second project is a layout, featuring how easy it is to use chipboard in its raw fashion, which I love to do!

The Calligraphic Border provides dimension, texture, and detail to the layering beneath my photos. I felt that by leaving it raw, it really stood out like I wanted it to :).

Calligraphic Border 074363

Vintage Keys 075032

"Hello" {Tag}
My final project today is this tag. I love the smaller chipboard pieces for projects like these! So much fun to put together :)

I've combined a dress form from the Miss Taylor Set, as well as the larger butterfly out of the Brigitte Butterfly set to dress up this tag. I used a combination of Glimmer Mist and embossing powder to set the base of my dress form. I then added the tulle skirt and some seed beads for the bodice. Finally, the little heart accent was put in place.

For the butterfly, I used some light misting and embossing powder as well, before adding my stamping. Finally I trimmed up the tops of the wings with some microbeads.

Blue Fern Studios Chipbpoard Used:

Miss Taylor Set 074721

Brigitte Butterfly Set 074387

Thanks so very much for stopping by the blog today! I hope you enjoyed my projects- and that you're inspired to go out and get some BFS chipboard for yourself!

Take care and see you again soon :),

Creating With Sketches: Vol 2: "Puppy Love"

Hey fellow scrappers! How are you? I myself have been QUITE busy. But I definitely wanted to share with you a layout that I created for the Creative Scrappers "Creating With Sketches: Vol 2" eBook by Kristine Davidson. After taking part in Vol 1 last year, I knew I just had to join in on this one too! Lots of scrappy friends in this publication as well and I'm so happy that Kristine wanted me to be a part of it :).

Here is what I created:

"Puppy Love"
Another great photo of Gunner playing with our dog Luxor :)

Let's take a closer look:

I loved using the yellow/orange mist against the colors of the Kaisercraft "75 Cents" & "Pickled Pear" papers. Gorgeous! And you can see I put my microbeads to work again as water for my bird bath :).

Delicious combo of Prima flowers :)

A closer look at my masking and layers, and of course the beautiful "Village Sign Post" chipboard piece from Blue Fern Studios :)

I first used my "Coffee Shop" Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels and misted the entire piece. Then blotted quickly with a napkin. I then stamped, embossed, and added microbeads. Voila!

If you would like to get a copy of Creating With Sketches: Vol 2, you can head on over to the Creative Scrappers store HERE. It is available in both digital and print form. And today I have a coupon code for you for $2 off a digital copy! Just use "CWS2Discount" when placing your order :).

Thanks for stopping by today~! I hope your week is winding down nicely :)

Take care,
